  1. It could have been enjos cooking but I thought today was better than yesterday as well. NMDW was most excellent and challenge after the first headwall was very good, Widow and le chute were soft almost from the start and held excellent turns. It was a little too uneven in places to really fly but a super nice way to spend super bowl Sunday.
  2. It was like opening the oven door going up the lift, redonk inversion. I thought everything was pretty good today though it either needed to be 20 degrees colder or mad sunny. It was soft enough piles formed quickly but to heavy to really mach through. NMDW continues to delight and Challenge actually got pretty ok once it warmed up some. Raceway/widow/curtsi/whatever was very good from the start and after enjo said how good pdis was we confirmed it was quite smooth. I don't think it's supposed to get below 40 tonight could make for an extra special superb owl Sunday.
  3. Like tp4 said it's not deep enough maybe 6 inches and side has even less but they can get back on it Tuesday night
  4. I'll be there both days with bells on, back in the olden days Sunday would be quiet but I wonder if even Taylor can impact the numbers.
  5. Work was up my butt the last two days so got out this morning with c1er. A little hard in spots first thing but generally hyper soft super carving snow. Widow, le chute, lower continues to donate boners. NMDW was also primo but in 5 tries I couldn't get a clean release, no matter the gap I built I was picking up strays but you so nice to do high speed arcs to air in the soft. Busy from the drop, nothing insane but lots of racers and doodle turn types. While the weather is hyper nice it's gotten to the point where it is February and should be colder.
  6. I'm not even really knocking them for all the drills and what not it's just like if your goal was to remove all joy you couldn't be more successful. Plus they don't get it like really at all, everything is from the person's perspective which is at the end of the day almost irrelevant. Cog outside com everyone falls, it doesn't matter how good you are or not so why does everyone visualize and conceptualize it from that point of view.

    Sale rumors...

I love plattekill and would much rather ski there but I'm definitely not the type of customer resorts are after. I would guess the same applies to you but blue gets my pass money and that's really it. I'm there all the time and quick to bitch when they make mistakes. Now loyalty and ponying up before the season is worth something but if they had their way it would be all single day family with rentals and food because then they make bank.
  8. Blue has to hate it but man is it nice when it's like the days of old. No 84737293 people lined up 30ft in front of the gates so no one can get through and then using two lanes. Most importantly no fuck heads endlessly dicking around in shitter stance with absolutely zero awareness. I think that group was psia, makes sense but most of those dudes are single trick ponies, hence their love of perfecting stupid little c turns and stopping every 20ft to have a confab on edge purchase.

    Sale rumors...

Except Lazlo knew the deal at platty when he bought it and so does everyone else in that area. He has zero pockets and no investors of merit, its like hickory being pissed at Wyndham. Platty doesn't compete with Bell state or not and it's the states job to make money with its assets. Plattekill has to market the difference in experience and profit from that, straight up they lose to bell everytime or Hunter or Wyndham and they all lose to WF/killy which is 2/3 hrs up the road. Full disclosure I'd much rather ski platekill but to claim they can't compete due to state coffers is bullshit. It doesn't compete because they have a niche product most snow sports people are less interested in. Elk will always be on VR or KSL'S hit sheet all you have to do is look at a map but it's not a great place to run a real estate scam so it will be less tempting.
  10. Today was le tits part deux, Challenge was even better than yesterday with a little more stiffness it could hold against the ski. When Challenge is good two days in a row its like I must be having a stroke and all of this is in my mind. It's so much fun to truck down that mother getting airs and ripping big arcs. I didn't mind the herky jerkey stuff probably becuase they are already slow with no wax so I was really enjoying upper main and especially NWDW. There is enough room even if you dont want to get booter Crunk but it's soooo nice to formation fly and get a bit blue angels. Le chute continues to be prime and I got one decent launch today. Weather was perfect, great crew and good snow........ shit was a dream on Monday but two days in a row I must be on peyote.
  11. I thought they had gone back after they split from Epiq and not everything was pay. It just dawned on me too Vail resorts had to sell Abasin to Canadians due to antitrust when they just owned Vail and BC. How can Alterra and VR end up owning all the resorts and that's ok ? Is WP city owned or Alterra ? Aspen Ski Co isn't theirs but they are in on KSL....Mother fucking capitalism.
  12. Ugh a basin has soul, if they kill the beach is it really abasin ? Could you imagine the day where you hope your local hill gets bought by a super rich dude but here we are.
  13. Empty, no racers, BFG and C1er in the house. Rode with Jack and Erik. When I arrived they had mad guns on and the cloud was in full effect, I figured it would correspondingly suck hairy ball sack but I was totally wrong. First run down Main I was still working on believing it was good but just an absolute carpet to arc arc arc. We followed it up with NMDW and while not perfect it was 95%, you can really honk on the turn and hit the two booters with so much speed. Challenge was next and was as good as Challenge gets, super high speed carves into big launches off falls. Rotd was Widow, le chute, lower. Chute was primed for launch and unsurprisingly the pilot was throwing shifties out in the stratosphere. It was so good we rode it like 5 times in a row just extracting every ounce of float possible. I had an absolutely must be done at 11 but between the sublime weather and booterrific conditions I used every last second. Razors was just ok, the colder snow meant the blown shit went to small cookies and coming soon was a shit field of cookies but it didn't matter one of the best mornings this year for sure.
  14. How was the rest of the skiing ? Back in the day it could get absolutely mobbed there but it seems like of late that's not the case ?
  15. You are a ninja, you always have good pics but I've never seen you taking photos. Today was an improvement over yesterday for sure, challenge, coming soon, lazy were all pretty good but still that classic blue sketchiness with random boiler to super soft. It did get a bit softer when we went back out but unbelievably uneven, lower dis the right side was a legit mogul field and the rest was getting there. Most excellent to get some sun and it was super nice out to have a beer. It was an excellent weekend though I'm hoping for a turn in conditions, my back hurts from all the up, down and all around just getting through the trash.
  16. The grooming alone is light years better than Blue today, slalom on a board is tough af way to represent.
  17. Today was special, I loved the uneven lazy but for most it just became a noob trap and was tough negotiating. Falls looked more similar to a bowling alley with distinct lanes and sort of the same for challenge. I rode Widow, mid, lower and midway while generally atrocious was nothing compared to the cross over which went from the beach to a hockey rink with mad holes in 20ft. How do you even do that ? I think my favorite part of the day though was salty trucking a snowboareder for going to slow, dude is an animal. It's always a good day skiing and good to have a full crew with JH gents back in the house but pretty rough conditions, hope tomorrow is at least a bit smoother.
  18. Sick bird ! Get some !
  19. Rode with DW and AS this morning, sooooofffffttttt like leaving legit trenches. Challenge was just perfection, super soft carpet to let them rip. Lots of racer types in the house for some cool high-speed work on Rasins. It was getting uneven fast due to how soft it is but my best turns of the season so far for sure. If there is any way it's not mad brick tomorrow that would be real nice
  20. I'll be up the next 3 days for sure
  21. Switchback ? Finally! Boner city for realz
  22. I have the extra ankle or foot bone in both feet, its a genetic thing I don't remember the name of but regardless I like slippers, no lie before Atomic turned me on to the rs130 I could pull my foot almost all the way out like that kind of slipper boot. Lange makes a wide but I've heard all the wide foot people are on the technica mach 1, it comes in a regular, medium and high volume lasts and apparently is quite the miracle worker. I know nothing about it personally but as a wide boot guy it's number 1 on my list when I get new boots though I only do it when I absolutely positively have no other choice. All new boots suck.
  23. Damn I knew it was going to be empty, post rain has become the new best condition at blue. I have to be in NYC for work until Wednesday and I'm dying.
  24. What's wrong with Bibs ? They own actual snow as its considerably harder to get snow down your back/pants if you eat it.
  25. Major props, I heard it raining when I woke up and sleeping in was calling just way too hard. When I actually woke up a little bit ago I and saw it was a baby rain it was like fuck I bet it was good. No place finds the limits of the outerwear like Blue, so much rain, like legit rain and then it can be so ungodly windy.
