I drive cheap ass cars and live in a relatively modest house. I require very little in terms of consumption beyond that which sustains life....and skis. LOL Man's purpose is unknown or the purpose may be what happens when it is self defined but it sure as hell ain't sitting in a 10x10 box so you can accumulate more 0 and 1's than the next guy. Money, power, things, consumption are an illusion that forces humans to walk a certain path mostly for the benefit of others. I may be a chainsmoking bro-brah lawyer who can't ski but at least I've done most of it on my own terms particularly in terms of exchanging my labor for $$$.

A little birdy told me Fritschi is working on the next revolution in AT bindings. I don't know what this means or what kind of design that could be but they have the pedigree and outside of the Dynafit and the mini revolution with the Duke/Guardian/MFD the basic design of non dynatfit AT bindings is pretty much the same from the Diamir 1. Very Interesting

Last night was pretty good, fast surface that was pretty edgeable, some rutting but also some other rippers in the house.

Your toe nails are hitting the front of the toe box, many many times. When you tour alot and kick in steps they almost always turn black and fall off. You would have to talk to a boot guy to figure out how to fix it but that is what is happening. I lost them for maybe 6 years in row, switched to a Nordica boot and I don't toe out if you will and haven't lost a nail in years.

Next years Shiro New Solly touring binding Plum has been talking with Look about some kind of deal to buy older designs and such, I have to believe this is for the fabled look touring binding but who knows. A plum made FKS or shit even a pivot would be killer.

I wear a space jacket and a purple helmet for gods sake, I'm not ripping on the guy in a hey you suck way but Kjuss jackets are funny to me. Southern gapers fucking love them, just check out Wolf Creek. So you paying what is a vastly inflated price for a style piece with some tech that is made in China. The alternative is a 500 tech Arcteryx/westcomb that is made in Canada and who's cost is more in line with the actual value of the good. Everyone should wear what they want but if your running Ferrari skis in a custom case with a Ferrari Bogner one piece your going to fucking hear about it as your gear is going to draw some attention to you. My brother has a nice looking kjuss and a dale of norway sweater and I fucking bust his balls about them. I still love my brother and he's still a pretty good skier but that doesn't mean I can't bust his balls.

Kjuss - That is all you need to know. My sister's shop is big in the south and that is their number one selling brand for outerwear......

This really only applies for the EC, western weather is far more dependent on the PNA and jet stream stuff. I don't know enough about that to speak with any intelligence, though I can tell you the Cali, UT and CO resorts have already cut way back. Staff has been cut, lodges and lifts closed and this isn't something you could reverse in a week. What that tells me is they are for some reason convinced this winter isn't going to take off, I don't know how anyone knows that but I got a couple of friends who have just lost there jobs and the CEO of Mammoth was just talking about this too. Taos is having a rocking season, Whistler is doing well and Jackson ain't half bad. Baker either gets 10" of snow or 2" of rain every night so that may work.......With two weeks of the right weather everywhere could be shangri la but the chance of that is pretty small.

Rob Katz is a very good skier, he gets to tahoe semi-frequently, North Star which is kinda surprising. I doubt he seriously cares unless this becomes a long term situation. Still that is a cool thing to do.

They were blowing on the bottom of Burma when I was leaving, the main st cookies were amazing...... like ball bearings you could throw the skis completely side ways and drift down the run. Lotta rutting and trenches, still a very nice night. This weekend in the am should be really nice.

NAO/AO is mostly EC weather, I think Jackson has alot more to do with what is up in the Pacific
