I actually have never really been through the American south. It was all dumb luck. My roomate freshman year was a ESL kid from Moscow who was actually a junior but had only passed 3 classes, he already had friends so they became my friends. I went to Albright so like 1000 kids in the entire school. The people who liked to party were pretty much the same 200 kids for 4 years so we ended up pretty tight. I had friends from Northern Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, China, HK, Nigeria, Spain and a really good friend from Morroco and another from France. ESL kids get federal money so Albright really liked ESL kids, they were like 20% of the student body when I was there. When they asked if I wanted to visit I just said yes, if you only need plane and fucking around money its pretty cheap. I was really lucky and we've stayed friends all this time but right this second I'm doing the be at home with my kid thing, I'm sure in the future when she's 13 and hates me I'll go back to doing more traveling. LOL LOL not mine so that's all that matters, though I think I'm supposed to get a colonoscopy soon or maybe that is 40.

Very firm underneath the dust but still very nice. A little snow could make it really nice.

Damn dude that is cool, I rode at Gerlizen a great many years ago. Cool place kinda noobish though, was coming from Ljubljana to go to Zurich I think that is the area you are talking about.
-
hahaha, I wouldn't be so sure about that

Austria !! Nice dude Innsbruck ? St. Anton ? Kitz

Ease up mother fuckers, this constant kick the door down walk in and swing your dick around is getting played out. I know everyone is trying to impress the same 30 people who post here but this low boil cold war shit is boring. Start a one time e thug thread let them go at it or make your piece with it, either way cut the shit. The hilarious part is we are a bunch of above average skiers from PA, nobody is impressed except below average skiers from PA. LOL

hahah on DV, that place fucking blows relative to the other hills but you can see if you aren't voting based on skiing than its number 1. The food is amazing, the place is almost as posh as Basin and they will schelp your shit around for you. My mom fucking loves that place and I think that is the type of person who votes. I've spent close to 100 days in UT, probably 20 or so at Alta. I've ridden it with lots of Pow and it still isn't my fav, its fantastic don't get me wrong but I prefer the bird or Brighton. If you can ride slack Brighton has a whole nother dimension the others don't. Alta has Grizzly, Wolvy Cirque and obviously Superior but those are high conquence with alot of uphill. Don't sleep on Solitude, they get alot more peeps than they used to and the lift setup is strange but honeycomb and under the patrol station off Powderhorn hold excellent lines. Plus when you get up on Fantasy its like a canned AK mini, you feel so fucking cool for like a week. Basin, Pow Mow and Sundance are conditions based resorts. You have to check what has been going on before you go, Pow Mow considerably less so than the others but if Pow Country and lightenting aren't going that place can be boring as fuck. Sundance sits a little differently than the rest of the hills, once about every 8 or so years the weather rolls off the salt lake and sort of deflects away from BCC/LCC and slams straight into Timp. Three years ago during a visit they had more snow than anyone and nobody rides their. Snowbasin is an excellent mtn with shit tons of excellent pow riding but you got to know where to go and you got to wait until they have a base. They sit funny and that place is rocky as fuck add in the wind and it takes longer for SB to fill in. At SB ride the can and get the lay of the land, then use your powder vision to hit the places that other people aren't going to go or that they can't see from the lift. -
Love Platekill but they are hurting, regardless I'll go where ever after Blue closes.

1. I wouldn't put Alta in my top 20, place is alot more talk than substance. The history is cool, the slack is good but I prefer the other resorts. It also gets tracked faster than any other place I can think of. It can snow 3ft and 2hrs later the place looks like a Beaver creek ad. 2. Why would you talk shit on PC, he is not a dick waiver. I talk alot of shit because its entertaining so feel free to sling some shit back my way but don't shit on non combatants. 3. Everyone likes a good vilian and GSS fits that roll, sometimes he earns it sometimes not. He is actually kinda funny if you think of it as one big performace art piece. That said be careful, the mob mentailty that is so prevalant ends up turning into a circle jerk. Doug is still a person. -
Ehhh its kinda a cool party but also kind of stupid because once you really get going the place is closing. Move the party to the base and make it easy on the patrol and lifties.

I rode blue on the grave yard shift, it was pretty firm by then. Lots of edge hold, fast and smooth enough for the Sup7. Not bad at all, weird though in that there has been very little wind.

HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE SINGLE GREATEST SKIING VIDEO EVAR!!! From now on when I'm killing it I'm going to yell YEAAAAAHHHH FEEL THE RUSH BABY!! Preferably at no one in particular just random heads at Blue......

He may be stupid and in need of a lesson but he's right, if you have the $$$ why half ass a powder ski. Too much I have a bigger penis than you horseshit in this thread. DPS 138 Lotus, OG ARG's (next year's I think is a hybrid), Praxis Powder, Moment Donner Party, 4frnt EHP, BD Megawatt (great ski don't sleep on them because its BD) maybe the moment comi. You get the point, the ARV is a 90ish park noodle that occaisionally dabbles in soft snow, the JJ is a great choice if you want them to do something else than just ski nipple deep blower but if you already have that ski why buy another.

^ lol I think that was the picture during the TGR thing, I didn't know about this site at that point so I only got one side but that was funny, particuarly when they found out about the sister. Sorry GSS, still Doug life 24/7

Either Copper or Winter Park as they haven't decided yet. I'll pm you when they get it all set up and see if you are interested. I would need to know in advance as you'll need a pass but its free and there is no time limit, well you have to bring them back at the end of the day. The best part of this demo is the shop is large so they get lots of stuff but it is pretty much all noobs so they have no interest in the cool shit.

I don't think anyone really does as I'm not even sure how you would test something like that. Part of me says its a company trying to save money on tooling, however their skis this year particuarly the Cochise do ski pretty well. My understanding is this, you get a bunch of wood and you lay them up in a traditional sandwich construction. Then the wood core gets profiled (this along with wood choice is what gives Volkls that tremendous edge hold) then you press in the conventional sense creating a traditional cambered ski. In non-flipcore you then just change press molds add some heat and you have two cambers in one ski however the profiled core has always remained face up so to speak. In flipcore they literally flip the core so profile down, and use a rocker mold. They claim the convex press mold and the convex core creates a ski were the wood core is not stressed or bent, the so called natural rocker in flipcore skis. So wood when shaped essentially is pulled into a partiuclar shape, if you've ever stuck wood in water and then applied pressure to make a curve its basically the same thing. The wood fibers don't break they just rearange to take another shape. So in a conventional ski the wood fibers on one side of a curve must be longer than those on the other as the same amount of wood is covering two different lengths, in a flipcore ski they claim the wood fibers due to the process above are all the same length. It certainly is a new way to press reverse camber but its seems somewhat bullshitty and who really knows what that means when you actually ski on them. Skis are so personal, so subjective based on the way the particular skier rides. I have a technique that is a retard cross of Dick Durrance and late 80's pocono shuffle, alot of park, assume position and let the ski rip big arcs across the trail. Jeff moves the ski alot more side to side and is more on the balls of his feet. Both of us can ride either of those ways but choose the style that we like, I can't say one is better than the other though Jeff is probably a better super short radius guy but that certainly helps to explain why on the same ski one says its a shitty noodle and the other says its a super stiff baller. I think the real revolution is something like the Moment Deathwish, the triple camber can really make a long fat ski turn like a 87mm Sl ski but I haven't even seen those in person. WTF does this mean with Flipcore ? Who knows so here is all of next years gear - http://freeski.downd...ispo-2012-skis/

If you are going to be in CO in March I know of an excellent 4 day shop demo...Rossi, Head, Volkl, Elan, Dynastar and probably a couple more.
-
It was an easy way to sell skis, the full twin doesn't benefit every ski and in soft snow all other things being equal the twin will sink the tips. Titty sparkles forever, Volkl has always had excellent edge hold from the core profile which I think gets confused with stiffness sometimes but whatever. Maybe too much time on the squads and LP's. I'm not busting on you for the chinese deal, its just funny to me how often they move their shit around. If you can't get it right let Elan do it like everyone else. Different strokes for different folks I guess

Flipcore is making real tech heads skeet skeet all over their buyers guide. Basically you get reverse camber or rocker by flipping the mold as opposed to heating and bending, thus changing the way the wood fibers are allinged in the core. The peeps I know that have ridden their stuff are all in a huff about how quick they are and how it is a direct result of the whole flipcore thing. Who knows ? The Kendo is a shitty ski just like the s3. Noodles The Bonafide is more like the Ex 98 from Rossi but with rocker. A excellent carver that can handle a little deep. In tight bumps its going to build and buck you and the flex pattern is kind of weird in terms of the transition from super stiff tails to soft shovel. Regardless an LPR with soft snow versatiltity = boner city. The Cochise is a crazy good ski, basically a bonafide with 10mm extra. Its a very aproachalbe ski and unlike the Super 7 the fucking pintail(cochise isn't pintail) doesn't disengage when flexed on the steep groomers however it wants to arc big fuck you turns on everything. Unbelivable versatitly in this ski and they may be on to something with the Flipcore. Crazy to say but Blizzard may have the most interesting lineup top to bottom....who the hell would have thought that ?

Grade A badass..... the K2 team days with the died hair were awesome.
-
Its nitpicky stuff but some of these skis are getting really close to perfect. I have a friend who has the billy goat's I'll have to give them a ride, thanks. Where were they made ? No metal in the Shiro so like a narrow Kuro....I'll have to get on them before I am sold, no metal normally means they deflect but peeps are really jizzing over the Shiro. This years Goats went back to Germany and apparently are much better.

At the end of March through April, reps start hitting clients hard for sales for next year. Bigger shops or high volume in strange area type shops get their proverbial dicks sucked, lots have multiple day type events for employees. If you are cool with a shop or know somebody get in on these type demo's as it is most of the manufacturers and all next years stuff.

That is like the ultimate dream, a 10x10 Montana Canvas wall tent with a little wood stove. Endless free refrigeration........I think there is something wrong when most of your dreams involve a certain amount of hermit like activity. LOL I must be missing something with the ridge, perhaps I've just been there too early. Is that massive pine still standing ? A few years back it wasn't looking too good, its right in the center of the gully between sanctuary and the far right ridge if one was skiing. -
Sick Bird!!!
-
Pacific bs is blowing up, western ridge will develop and pull cold air in from the North. By the end of this week the pattern will have finally changed. Nothing is certain but alot of potential which is a hell of lot more than the last two months. Peeps who can do Vt on a storm or RD who is already up there should be ready because a big dog is going to roll through soon.
