Most ski patrol's do not except WFR, essentially its a EMT-B type training they are looking for....Though who knows at some of the the smaller hills....god damn is that scary. WFR is great and essentially if you spend time in the woods.

BC didn't have a bump run when I skied there, I don't like bumps because it makes my knees hurt and I suck at it. I took one run with AS on main st last year and was on my ass within 45 seconds...bumps are the mtns way of telling me to go find some pow.

Lulz Stowe doesn't have a village it has the same thing Killy does just further away. Unless you count the barry money hotel monstrosity. Pre AIG Stowe was alot like Ascutney, living off an image and history, Stowe itself was even more quiet than now. Killy in the Otten and ASC glory days was the best party in the state. The barn got seriously rowdy and I've never seen a place with so many skiers. Times have changed and Killy is a shell of it former self but it still is the place to party and ski on the EC outside of the reggae party at the loaf. Killington is a ski town bottom line, it generally makes more money than Stowe, nearly all of which is related to skiing. Even Rutvegas is highly dependent on the resort. For 41 consecutive years they put skiing first and were first to open and last to close, the were the first to use the ticket wicket, they were probably the U.S. leaders in expansion and trail cutting for near 30 years, millions and millions of people got into snow sports at Killington. Stowe and about 100 other hills are in part what they are now because of Killington. Killington has its share of problems and probably will for some time but don't discount its importance to EC snowsports, Sugarbush, Stowe, and shit even Jay pretty much copied their model 20 years after the fact. Blue would be lucky to have BC's staff and groomers. The hill itself is shitty but everything else is top notch.

I'm compensating for my language at home, daughter is in the repeat stage so I've really cleaned it up. The second sentence is the cold hard truth, better get a decent job and get your duckets in order. Poor people will crap out first and the price will come down as long as the non OECD countries don't suck up the excess capacity. There certainly is rampant speculation at play in the market but that's adding 50 cents to maybe a buck, they will cash out in maybe 6 months when the higher price hurts their positions more generally but its $3+ until somebody figures out how we're all moving around without sweet sweet crude.

While I realize its alot more fun to be an idiot and think that somehow exxon or chevron is fucking you over, Oil is a fungible world market. What we used to call the big seven aren't even big anymore, Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon, Chevron, BP, etc. are tiny compared to Saudi Aramco and Gasprom. Exxon is no more able to determine the price at the pump than I am able to shit rainbow sprinkles. Gas is expensive because its pretty fucking important and kinda tough to get out of the ground, sprinkle in some speculation and your easily at 4$ a gallon. At the most basic level a team of people has to study for years sometimes to find recoverable reserves, millions of dollars of equipment and personnel are then brought it and they drill a hole 20,000 feet into the ground where they then use the earth's natural pressure to pump that shit to holding vessles. It is then pumped to another vessel which then ships it thousands of miles to a terminal facility where it is again delivered to a refinery. The product is then refined, delivered to a distribution center and then trucked to the gas station where some schmuck either makes a 1/4 of cent a gallon or uses it as a loss leader. All that shit and your bitching about 4$ a gallon.......get a fucking clue dumb fucks your aren't going to be able to use endless amounts of energy for the rest of your lives its simply not possible. Lets not even talk about EIA estimates or Land Export Model or how 300 million dumb fucks can't get it through their head that you are not entitled to endless amounts of thermal energy.

The better question is why the fuck did they put their tent there ?

We left our cabin around 10am and were up top by 3. Its 3.7 miles and around 3000 vert, the first 2 miles or so are easy trail with maybe 800 vert gain. The difficult part is making sure your in the right drainage and then navigating that drainage. The drainage is really only tight for 1/4 or 1/2 mile but it has two sections that are tricky with skins on. Additionally the boot up the slide was a little slow as lower down the lead guy would be going in to the knee. Regardless we weren't moving very fast, we almost never do. We may be the lazy bunch of tourers ever which is why I think almost anyone can experience the bc. Once we got skis on we were out and back to the camp in an hour/hour and a half and we were seriously fucking around. You could do it in a day for sure but you would have to be moving though once out of the drainage you could negotiate the trail in the dark. One thing to note is that DEC blazed certain portions of this trail with blue and navy blue blazes because theoretically its two trails. Why they don't use more than three colors I'll never know but it can be a little confusing if your not also navigating spatially. If you ever want detailed directions just let me know. -
If you lease from the NFS you close when they say. Jackson closed yesterday because they lease and the NFS says here come the elk and all that shit so no more lifts. It kinda sucks but it is their land....jealous of Jordan wish we had 3 more months here.

We always get the precip its just that lots of times the cold air is gone by now. For whatever reason it has stayed cold up north, VT got 4-6" yesterday out of low precip, Daks are 8-10ft deep in April and they almost always go before the Greens. Unless there is a major warmup the Prezzis will go to August. I think somebody said they are doing tux around 4/20 prepare for cold as shit..... -
No lots of skiing left

200 isn't bad but the problem with the daks is the weather too much freeze thaw and wind. I have had probably six trips there junked because of ice. 3 trips to marcy to ski the cone with no luck -

Peggy o is one of two decent huts on the ec the other is crag at king which is the tr from last year. No 10th mt on the ec Peggy is 300 a night which is pricey, normaly we do the leanto but there were some noobs on this trip. They also have grace camp which sleeps 6 and is a buck fifty. I'm glad people enjoy this tr hopefully it gets some more people into bc skiing on the ec. -
