california vs. utah vs. colorado vs washington ect

What ?.....wait weren't you the one that went to CO rode park for a month, couldn't hack it and then came back ? Weird but UT does have horrible parks so I can see why you wouldn't like it. Mammoth is a good bet, no one gets more consistent late season snow than Mammoth. There is a reason they are almost always the last to close. UT has the best chance for an epic 3% dump. -
A+ I've tried to be more lenient in what I consider good posts but to be honest lots of tr's here just plain suck, this however delivers. Killer work and the pictures were nice too.

Thanks for the info, I'll see you in November next year. Two is young but I taught my brother when he was two and it isn't like I'm talking hard core instruction more lets go out and have a fun time together sliding on the snow. I agree that you can't push them and that's not my style anyways. In 15 years of skiing the only time my brother was pissed was when he was tired and fell asleep on Great Northern at Killy, my stepdad literally carried him out as he slept.

This reminds me how small do your season rentals get ? My daughter will be two next year and it would be way easier than buying her stuff. Though that would kill my plan of just sawing 70 or so cm of the front of some gnar skis......

serious lulz....psia teaching park skills My cousin went to one of their conventions at Killy and at some point they were teaching each other little ways to make even more perfect c turns. He said fuck that and tried to teach them to slide rails which equaled instant lulz.

Anyone know somewhere in SE PA that sells ptex candles ? I'm out and I need to throw a temp patch in until I have more time to repair it properly.

The 27.0 and 27.5 have the same shell dimensions only the liner is different. Alot of boot fitters do the half size bump when you complain about little things fit wise but generally like the boot. Basically you get the exact same shell with a little more room for general foot weirdness, its a simple fix because you don't have to dick with your bindings. Are the adjustments due to your foot being uncomfortable or because they are loosening up ? I've never seen a boot that doesn't do the latter, maybe its out there but I've never experienced it. The only thing I'd say overall is do not get crazy about stiffness at least if you expect a comfortable boot, plugs and near plugs are going to be somewhat uncomfortable, thats alot of plastic and very thin liners. You can shave and punch all you want but they aren't going to be as comfortable as 90-100 stiffness boots and the performance differences can be minimal depending on a number of characteristics of your skiing.

But Elk is like skiing in VT without the drive Seriously go to Blue, Elk is only slightly better and is about an hour further to drive. If not just keep driving and go to the skills.

x2 Windham going to be alot more crowded than Plattekill....any of them are better than Huntah

Bode is one of the greatest skiers this country has ever seen he may be a bird of a different feather but no reason to hate him. -
There is no place like the Knob

I actually liked the opening shit so pretty cool light and projection work. -
I'd love to spend some time at the art museum, jibby night stuff would be awesome. That ratio is about right, you don't realize how efficient skis are downhill until you do the work to get uphill. That line is less than 10mins from my house in Exeter, at certain points you can see the Pagoda.

We gained about 2000 vert over 4 or 5 miles as the path we took was quite meandering, the total vert drop was 900/1000 feet maybe 50ft less as we didn't actually ski all the way to the river. I have an inclinometer for avy work and it read 43 degrees about mid way down, with that steepness the skiing was fast and we had plenty of speed. Anything under say 35 degrees I would think wouldn't be ski-able as you'd never pick up any real speed. I like lifts too but sometimes you have to leave the friendly confines and have some adventure.

I imagine there is a story behind the above but this conductor waived and smiled.

It was incredible and surprisingly quiet, real icing on the cake type moment.

Clearly I wasn't being 100% serious though Keystone probably doesn't have much more of a base and I'm pretty Jackson didn't either when you were there.

It all started years ago while having one of those skiing days dreams in the car, it was gnar gnar steep and large 50 ft rocks faces littered the exits of the dream gully's. It quickly earned the title of century line as we couldn't believe it would ever see enough snow to be ski-able more than once every hundred years. As we all know the stars aligned and mother nature blessed us with 24" of thick creamy pow on top of 8" of cement. Calls were made, other more reasonable options were discussed but with a once in a lifetime snow event we knew we would end up on century. Piss poor local plowing efforts forced us to far less desirable route that would quickly end up being what seemed like a never ending slog uphill. I've BC toured from Alta to the Adirondacks and with one exception I have never been more physically drained then at the end of this tour. Four miles and 6 hours of energy zapping skinning and we had finally made it. The skiing was fantastic, heavy but I'm not sure you could ski it any other way. It almost saddens me to think I may never get another chance at this line........though if it snows Monday...... I have to apologize for the lack of pics and clandestine nature of this report. One we were straight up beat and two the gentlemen who own the land on the approach were pretty apprehensive about having people on their land so we promised to keep it secret. I like to share stashes as much as I can, I mean if riders from PA don't look out for each other who the hell will but them the breaks sometimes. A pretty nice place to rest our weary bones. That line is giving me a boner If I woke up at the top of this line I would definitely think I'm in Smuggler's Notch (the actual Notch not the resort) before PA. Waist deep in PA, previous to this trip that was only possible in my dreams A pretty damn good route out though I wonder how often the trains run Pretty often Thanks for looking hope you had a great couple of days too. I believe we just saw a train get face shots

You can still drive on 76/476 it isn't like there are police patrols or anything they just don't want to have to deal with stranded cars. If you have the right vehicle I'd leave now as it is only going to get worse. Years ago I was on 95 when it was "closed" kinda nice because your the only car on the road besides drunk plow drivers.

Epic day for Bear Creek its a strange strange season where Bear Creek has more snow than some western resorts. My only request is that you leave the big 3 (extreme, Sasquatch and whatever its called next to extreme) ungroomed for these once in 20 years type events. I don't think they were groomed this morning but you could tell they were groomed at some point, still epic morning.

X2 Anything beyond 72 hours is pure fantasy.

Those guys are insane......

Lots of retrograde going on, the longer the energy transfer takes the more time this storm moves north before the secondary low pushes it out to sea. Hopefully the secondary takes too long and the NE gets bombed. Its definitley slowing down as well along the interaction with the in place cold air mass, a stall with no secondary would turn this baby into a EC butt fucker......some how I don't think were that lucky....

That's actually good, I think, the union park one is seriously sketchy still I'd check the UTA website because its entirely possible I switched the places and Sandy's the one with the never operating bus stop. One time were it would be useful for DHarrisburg around and he's in some kind of self imposed exile....
