Jay is the place for when it snows from what i've heard things are really good right now. Trees are excellent. Stashes - Only one I'm really giving up is Big Jay At the top of Timbuktu glades on the right boundary you will see a "gate" go through the gate and find a place to drop. The closer you are to the line the easier it is to get back to the lift, you can ditch the lift and run it down to 242. People will pick you up and take you back to Jay. DO NOT SKI THE CLEAR CUT, big jay was only opened three or so weeks ago and they will close it again if people don't let that area be. Off the left of the Boneventure chair almost directly under the lift is a really nice line that will stay fresh until noonish. The line is semi obvious the entrance is not. Beaver Pond Glades are normally the last to get tracked.

Pow mow is one of the best in UT if you know where to go....enjoy the ride up.

I can't imagine the kinds of forces needed to shear a toe piece off like that, thats got to be a 20 din+ all metal binding on a truly trucking ski sheared in half. Amazing that he can be all right.

LULZ on the big lawyer I work at a small tax firm now so my hours are much better but I don't make the same kind of loot. Those a-holes must of run them over with cart thingy or something really heavy, the tails were right angled and completely crushed. I don't have a hard case but rather a pretty hefty double bag, Northwest bitched alot but finally coughed over the cash a few weeks back. My grandfather is actually the king of haggling and deal making, he called like four times a day. I seriously think he enjoys it.

Cat-track is the best trail trail at Killy, I used to love to eat Cheetos at the weather tower when I was mad young. VT was pretty good this weekend, trees were in real good shape and good boot top pow Sunday & Monday.

I got some new boards and binders this week and have finally completed my quiver of death. Total boner city..... The ARG's are a replacement for the ones the "baggage handlers" at Newark broke. Assholes. Please excuse the untidiness of my basement, that particular corner is in the process of being finished

Can't do it.......at least easily.

Its not really based on how tall you are but rather how you like to ski, there are 125lb women that put more power into their ski than 200lb men. I'd go with the 182, its not a ton of extra length but enough to help with chattering and stability. There nothing worse the finding out your ski tops out 10mph slower than you do. Since you like to ski with power the 182 will also tend to ski a little faster with the increased surface area. Additionally if you do come across and pow or chop the increased float would help. The radius on that ski is pretty low so you should still be able to carve the snot out of it.

We've gone over this a million times, temp. isn't the problem getting non-season pass holders is. If the $$$ is there they will stay open.

Best mountain in PA by far, even better than most of NY The world famous Stembogen bowl. Sweet tree runs all over the place Real glades Great signage The place is crazy mismanaged so they very rarely blow snow additionally they are very conservative as to opening trails. Best bet is to wait until they get some snow and they start opening trails, when extrovert and ditches glades are open just go.

Have a good one man, so so jealous......gf just wasn't going to let it happen this year...remember to bring the CO guys some splits

I'll have to check that place out, I always stay at the marriott which is nice but too pricey for nothing but sleeping there.

BS in reading...nothing but a dusting

Its a graffiti thing, solid cold's were supposed to be solid golds but the CSX stencil guys screwed it up. FGE who operates the cars actually made some for some beer company that were called solid cold chillers. There hard to find because most have be refurbished into some new reffer car. I don't know what was so hard about explaining that inane and mostly useless fact but then again its only cool if your the only one that knows about it. He's definitely not TTC6, this guy is either a giant douche or has a pretty good sense of humor. TTC6 doesn't seem to have any concept of what's funny.

The Euro has been much better than GFS so far this season, GFS says nothing for sunday/monday Euro says good storm for VT........

Blue Knob has real glades with real snow, if you can do a few more hours in the car I'd head there.
-
VT temps would be in the 30:1 40:1 ratio - http://www.crh.noaa.gov/crh/?n=tm-116 Anything above 10 or 15:1 though and it all can blow away or compact to .25"

Bingo - Here's the real kicker too, its arrests not convictions. Therefore if you were arrested on a DUI 10 years ago and lets just say the cop fucked up and said you blew a .10 but in reality it was a .01, judge figures this all out and throws that shit out the window. Your still fucked at the Canadian boarder because all they know is you were arrested for DUI. Apparently you can file for a permit but it can take years and is crazy expensive. My record is clean but this shit has to change, Whistler alone is loosing lots of $$$.

I would bet past arrest..

NOAA seems to think this storm is going to kill the pocs with as much as 14", interesting......

GSS is right Its much much easier than most people would have you believe. Go rent some fatty's 100+, point them in the direction you want to go and hold on. Good deep pow is a dream come true, your not turning to hold down speed rather to change directions, additionally you can get rowdy in that steeper slopes are much much slower and you have a nice soft landing in the case of some sort of failure. Its really as close to zero work as you can do on skis. Don't lean back as tail gunning only reduces your ability to turn and isn't necessary on a nice pair of fatty's. Watch stopping as you can go over the handlebars if you don't account for the deeper than usual snow. Don't push the snow or get aggro on it, rather get a nice bounce rhythm going and feel the turn pattern. The mountain has a rhythm of turns it wants you to take, bad pow skiers can't see or feel it and waste lots of energy doing their thing. Lastly have fun, pow skiing is the soul of the sport, no one lives in a van for four months of the year to ski groomers.

FS: 4FRNT STL 167cm with Look P12 Ti PIVOT Bindings - Hardly Used!
Johnny Law replied to skier150's topic in Classifieds
Let me know if you want to separate the skis and bindings, I have no use for the skis but would take the bindings. -
Great TR and it sounds like you had a great trip. Definitely going to have to get out to MT soon, kinda hard though to pass up UT.

As far as I know they are, the lodge is definitely still open. I believe their heli/cat operations where run by Valdez who is still open. Its so so tough to decide, tons of really cool options and its crazy expensive.
