  2. No I went to Albright though I have spent far too much time in VT. I heard the upper lifts were kind of running, some people would get through and then shut down for 20 mins. Bolton can definitley be boring but if nothing else is open beats sitting at home, with it being so close to stowe I wouldn't see any reason to go there unless something was up at Stowe. Apparently this storm is highly orographic and sticking more to the far North, Jay is forecasted to get 1 to 2 feet.
  3. Windy=Bolton
  4. If you go don't miss Turner and Lost Trail, they can hold pow for a long long time.
  5. Gunstock is a cool little mountain and you could hit tucks on the way back. Spring skiing at tuxs is amazing.
  6. My boy is in Vt. and says there getting hammered and I'm stuck at work. Needless to say I'm pissed, fucking mother nature owes us a decent storm Meanwhile in PA..... THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SNOW AND RAIN FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY AND AGAIN AROUND MONDAY. THE MONDAY LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL ORIGINATE OVER THE GULF COAST AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE HEAVIER PRECIPITATION IN THE REGION DEPENDING UPON ITS FINAL TRACK OFF THE EAST COAST. From NOAA
  7. In my dream world MT would be were I end up, it makes UT crowds look like Camel Back.
  8. The legitimate people I know are saying the same thing, I parked in the second row yesterday.......they won't stay open for a bunch of pass holders. Though it would be nice to ski at Bear for another week.
  9. That is a sick jacket Melissa and you guys have a really good one at A basin.....
  10. Thanks! That is definitley it, a friend in college had one and I remember the same thing. Every pic was a complete guess, I always thought it could give you really cool partical focus pow pics The hole thing is hilarious, still I think I am getting this one. Thanks again. http://cgi.ebay.com/HOLGA-120FN-120-FN-Pla...1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. Nice...Inside or on the deck ?I like the deck drinking.
  12. I will have to try that some time on a good pow day I think it could make for some cool pics and hauling the full camera job around some days is a PITA. There is a chinese camera that was made years ago with a plastic lens that takes very cool pictures, I would like to pic one up but I can't remember the name.
  13. Sick! Sno will get my $$ for sure.
  14. Snow melt is pretty low right now, rain will suck but nobody really knows what will happen past three days. The parking lot last night was empty bleachers, hopefully more peeps will show up this weekend.
  15. Sweet TR....I don't know what camera you used but I like the way it kind of made them look old school.
  16. I lol'd POTD for sure!
  17. I see you went to the Alannis Morresette school of irony, rest assured that fact that you think he is a tool and he called you a tool isn't ironic.
  18. I've slept in pretty much everyone's lot the only place that hassled me in VT was Stowe so I just use the grocery store lot. CO now they give you a hard time.
  19. More media, more quality TR's like this one are what this site needs.
  20. Absolutley and be honest you aren't joking. I can't believe this is even a debate......
  21. Totally sick!!! That little snow bridge in the third pics makes for insanely cool pics. I don't understand how this gets three replies where as bitching about sno or camelback gets 100
  22. Kind of............ Ski is right, to a certain degree in that the highest performance skis and therefore most inovations come from racing. I think though even he would agree that up until a certain point in time there were far more pedestrian concerns in terms of binding function and ski design that were pushing the tech. There are certain things racing skis had jack shit to do with, reverse camber reverse sidecut jobs and twins for example, granted they have limited use but they came out of the more freeride orientied scene. Still most inovations came from people wanting to go faster, Park skis are essentially ancient technology in that it comes down to mostly sandwich, wood core skis that are durable and have thicker reinforced edges and higher ratios of cyrstaline structure in the sintered bases. Racing bases on the other hand are crazy, one team may have thirty different bases with all kinds of shit in them and all kinds of different ratios. whereas most production skis come from 3 standard bases and all that is just one small example. It seems to me what you both are really talking about is racing vs freestyle, which, like sking vs snowboarding discussions are stupid. While it may be possible for one to exist without the other both are vastly better with the other in the sport. What is really scary is that we owe a metric ton to freeheelers, uhhh I can't bare the thought.
  23. weak.......IFSA goes in almost anything......I get there is a difference but still shitty
  24. Presure too is huge, in soft snow you can throw a ton of pressure into the edges and the snow will compact. With ice you need to put far less pressure on the edges but maintain the track of the ski. Body movement against the carve accomplishes this, just watch racers real race courses are a sheet of ice.
  25. OH Shit I've been elsewhere so I haven't been up in a while ......hope he heels up quick one of the most solidly cool guys in the state.
