Wow that is a good price, there is no real difference between this and last year's. I have heard bad things about GetBoards in that they can take forever to ship. I would go with the 170 unless you aren't planning to get out of the park at all with these. IMO length does not affect spinning as much as it does chatter on the groomers.

Even Bear will make it through this...stay positive.

Its a water treatment system, you would be amazed at how many places do this. Sewage water is blown into the woods using the older style guns which require a seperate compressed air hose, the snow melts and the water is filtered by nature, at least theoritically. I was told it was all of the waste water from the whole operation but that sounds insane I would imagine maybe its the "grey" water. I remember a white paper on the possibility of blowing waste water into snow for skiing and the dude said that they could not detect any problems with skiing on crap water. Just don't eat the snow. Essentially if you have well water or older style water treatment plants this is how you get your drinking water too.

Me neither..... still somewhat boner inducing the end of skiing in the east is still a long ways off. NOAA in all its wonder has thousands of stations across the country measuring gobs and gobs of info regarding snowpack. One of things they measure is current melting rates and it doesn't look all that bad. Additionally if you switch to station info the snow temp is only bad from VT south excluding the NY highpeaks. http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/interactive/htm...o12=1&o13=1 The larger remote sensor system page is here http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/interactive/htm...p;js=1&uc=0

Hahaha really no way! Seriously though dude just because we are from PA doesn't mean we are larry jongs from NJ ducking ropes to rip the slackcountry. I had AIARE level one two years ago, my cousin has had 1 & 2, WFAC and a WFAR recert. We have toured all over the Wasatch and Uintas, Timp, Grizzly, Wolverine, Cardiac Ridge, NW face of Provo Peak, Red Top and countless others. I have climbed and skied with him since I was 12 and wouldn't think twice to trust him with my life outside of a car of course....dude can't drive for s**t. We take saftey very seriously and as much as anyone really can limit the risks that are involved. Compared to the above Strawberry is a walk in the park, Fantasy in bounds at Solly is far more gnar.

Do it up the more pics on here the better and have fun my pow intuition tells me your in for a good one.

100% honest.... to date the only serious advice I have ever given...... get ARWs, I have actually ridden them and they are a blast. Soft like a park ski should be but can still haul ass in the pipe or on groomers. I have three pairs of AR5s which are the older brother of sorts to the ARW and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I hear from time to time some durability issues but I have had no problems, the pair I ride with at Bear alot has probably 150+ days on them including a particular trip to Mt. Washington where I dragged them the last 1/4 mile out. If you buy this years version you can get it cheap like $240 from BC, buy them and never look back. http://www.backcountry.com/store/ARM0026/A...Ski-Womens.html

Huh ? Are you saying the middle of the ski or board sits higher off the ground than the tips ? I think you are talking about camber and that means your boards are totally shit now. There isn't anything you can do about it now either it occurs as a result of the manufacturer making your board during a full moon. Seriously though every board you have ever owned was probably convential camber, reverse or the partial reverse jobs are mostly thought of to be for pow pow as traditional camber has no real use in pow pow. Some people have brought some reverse camber stuff to the park but the jury is still out if it actually does anything. For pow though they rock, smear turns are wicked fun they do not carve though so Ski look elsewhere.

Maybe your version of a long hike and mine are two different things....and just so you know jackass UT leaving the area is fine long as you stay out of the permanent avy closure areas. I guess the hordes that drop off the back of No Name or Allen's into Ogden and thus leaving the area are traveling "out of bounds"

This reminds me of the ice tower they build in Alaska, aparently there isn't a lot to do in Maine and AK http://www.alaskanalpineclub.org/IceTower/WebCam.html

EDIT: Forget it .........some of you whiney b*tches need to get the hell out of PA once in while

Sometimes you just have to say "I am an irresponsible person and but skiing infront of family, friends and work"
-
I think someone had an kids boot at SIA that would change sizes as they grow, may want to check it out.
-
I really hope we get some out of this. LOBSTER BACKS!

We broke those, these are made in Yugoslavia 70's neon 153 Elan's that we long termed "borrowed". Whatever jackass had these before had rounded off three of the screws, so we had to MIG weld some pieces on to get them off. I haven't MIG welded in 6 years and sucked at it then so it took a while, mounting had to get pushed back to tonight but I will have pics up this afternoon. Major bonus though in that we did find another pair of demo bindings so we can loan these out. You haven't lived until you have thrown tandem spread eagles.....I would be happy if we didn't break these within the first 15mins of being on them.
-
Well your in for a treat, were mounting up the double skis tonight. If you have never had the double ski experiance prepare to be amazed. If I can find another pair of demo bindings in my house we can even loan them out on gaper day. Double skis + boxes = $$$$$$$ Pics will be up post mount.

The big thing is only pass holders show up after mid march and BC doesn't make anything. This actually happens alot of places, if you want BC to stay open get the people that actually pay full price to get out. The whole worker issue is a big one too. Otherwise BC could have ten feet of snow and it wouldn't matter. I don't know how long you have been riding at Bear but you should know it can all melt in a week under the right conditions.

That good to know, I always see the 4frnt's for cheap and its getting harder and harder to hoard the old P series looks still I will stay away. Even I have to admit that sounds like something someone would say if they couldn't do it.
-
Don't worry dude most EC places could really use a DR power mower (Julio at KT or Toliet Bowl are pretty damn tight) when you get to the west you won't have any problems. Remember see the gaps not the trees.
-
lotta dick waving going on in this thread for what it is worth I never really liked the Atomic bindings....my racer friends tell me Vists are the new hotness which I just can't believe. The 4frnt binding is a Vist and that particular design shares alot in common with a binding that Marker tossed because of retention issues. POC the gear isn't ultra important just remember to grip it and rip it, perfect c turns are overated where as having fun is universal

Yeah and you need to do it like six months in advance and have a group of four, we have all that and are ready to climb but I really want to find a way to ski from the top. Knifes edge is boney and somewhat dangerous but with some fill in and this week's storm putting down 16+ I hope skiing it can be accomplished. Icy would be an understatment so I think this may end up just being a climbing trip I don't like the decents that are mostly rapping with skis on.

I'm in and will see if I can get my out of town crew in town which would be at least five fully gapered out clowns
