I cannot but Edge and Dirtwolf may be. Tonight was pretty good, there were a couple slick spots but as they were blowing lots of places most of it held some soft man-made. Right side spine on Coming Soon was the best I thought but upper main was also pretty smooth, fast and good grip.

Just go, I'll be up between 5 and 6 depending on traffic. Dirtwolf I think will be there and if it's terrible terrible snow we'll have even more fun grinding the spine.

For realz ? Risk tolerance in humans is a highly varied witch doctor like stew of brain chemistry, experience, etc etc. To TP4's point you don't take risks in other areas but perceive of it differently ? I know you do, I know everyone of us does. Indiggio you have a motorcycle no ? Zz I believe you do not use a helmet ? Johnnylaw smoked mad cigs for years and years. Again I'm not saying anything against anyone. Motorcycles are cool af and if you want one you should have one but by any measure it's orders of magnitude more dangerous than riding a lift regardless of bar status but the key is you dont feel it is because of a million factors specific to your experience. Some people won't ride on motorcycles by default, some people don't put the lift down, some of us looooooove nicotine it's all the same thing perceptions of risk but not actual risk which is always unknown. Risk tolerance is very personal and prescribing ones views to others is impossible as the concept is so nebulous. What's everyone thoughts on the false vacuum state of the universe or that gamma ray burster that probably isn't pointing directly at us ? Do those things matter ? Who's to judge ?

Alot of UT had no bars for along time, including the old Supreme which ran considerably higher. Nobody fell off because you didn't fuck around and rode with an arm over the back because it's just common sense when your 100 ft above the ground. Putting the bar down is also common sense but children aside if you can't successfully navigate a moving couch I have no idea how your going to handle skiing. Look at the new sixer, the ass cup is 50 degrees and 2 feet deep. Down is way more dangerous than up.

I thought today was one of the best mornings in awhile. Everything had a little crust but it was smooth and infinitely more together. You can get the ski to step if you gave it too much edge but grip was pretty good even with the crust. As C1er said it was the best condition, nobody home so point and shoot from wherever you wanted. It's been snowing here for the last hour which has to be a good omen for things to come.

The run out from Pdis was rowdy af at 930 I can only imagine what it looked like later. You guys are hardcore

So far I've been gifted a McDonald's chicken sandwich, part of a baguette, many burritos and now hot dogs. I'm not counting the usual like beef jerky or chocolate and it has to be on the lift. I think I could eat crab legs on the red chair at magic but I still say the hot dog may be the best lift food.

In a discussion about Blue Sky Basin yesterday hotdogs came up. On the 3rd or 4th ride up BenM revealed a secret satchel of hot dogs he brought from him home. A dozen or so individually wrapped for speed, hot, the whole works, they were a great dog and yoccos doesn't deliver to the main street express. King of kings kinda move I have no idea about winterfest but I haven't seen any ice sculptures.

I thought today was better snow wise and I had alot more fun that yesterday. NMDW was a good minefield and upper main was good. Truthfully it was probably the hot dogs though. I'm always hungry on the lift and imagine my delight when BenM revealed delicious hot hot dogs mid lift ride. One was a dream but to get back on the lift and get another is next level. I've become a lift dog evangelist, it may be the perfect lift food.

Skiing is always better than no skiing but the depth to the sugar is truly amazing. Toast was sinking down to mid boot walking out in the morning. Some good turns to be had but it could definitely use some cohesion.

Up to about 2 inches here and still coming down strong

I have ridden that the year they first reopened. Some kid hit a rock and was seriously injured and then I've never seen it open again.

It just started coming down in the Ding about 20 minutes ago. Solid rate of fall but big wet flakes so we must be pretty close to the line. It would be a great day to be out on the hill just for it to feel like winter.
-
I just had a Nam like flashback to 1990 lol I remember the trail was almost never open at least I think

I saw on Blue's IG yesterday that the ridge had gotten frosted so I figured I'd mosey my way up this morning and catch the show before it melts. True to there post the upper 1/4 of the hill the trees have a solid coating and with surprisingly blue skies the twinkle was majestic. A steady wind had them moving like the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies with the half babbling brook half wind chime sound. With a couple of inches the hill looks fantastic. The skiing is considerably less majestic, most everything got a solid crust and while mostly edgeable turns of merit don't have the grip for full speed. They must have blown on Coming Soon as the upper ditch is in and held super nice soft turns. YMMV as its 4 or 5 inches of soft over grass/etc. Upper main is best described as a scree field of cookies, chicken heads and super frozen bone shaking cord. The whole hill is guess your luck on picking the right groomer track but the variability on upper is laughable. Best run was Widow, midway, lower main as midway has a bit of a riser directly under the lift so you can really slut it up and get some air. I saw C1er and ZZslope but crowds were low. Rumors abound for any number of delusions of granduer as someone said they purchased the old ladies farm you can see off coming soon but maybe we already knew that....I can't keep up with everything they are supposedly doing.
