2/12-13 weekend roll call thread.

I'll be there both hoping Sunday the superb owl thins the herds a little -
It's a cool place, like a cross state blue. There are like 16 lodges and the triple side was Jack frost kinda short but the trails under the main quad were great.

It's going to be hot af alot of places thus weekend, large parts of CA will probably break records. That air pattern is supposed to show back up next week and the Climate Prediction Center said above average Temps for Feb. That doesn't actually mean a whole lot, beyond 5 days out they might now it's probably going to be warm but they might as well pick the numbers from a hat.

No boot, it was honestly nbd except it was two respect my authority types. I swore he said Newtown Square but steeze thought he said something like New Hamilton which I have never heard of. If there is any takeaway it's evidence 9399949399292 that cops lack higher level brain power to understand the Golden rule but I do wish vtmark would have been there to call him out on his taticool plate holder. Snow on main was 11 out of 10, just perfect but everything else you can start to feel those freeze thaw cycles coming through. Razors was really good, switch has alot of weird lips and shit where the ski drops but is otherwise good. I have been impressed generally when I've expected shit snow they've done well so here's to hoping.

Your going to have to start locking them now that everyone knows. Ask GSS about leaving them unlocked. In VT they'll leave the car running forever if it's cold. Grocery shopping half the cars will be running with no one in them.

I think we went to high-school at the same time or you were before me but you are definitely right. Peeps regularly brought guns to school in their cars for hunting season. The war on covid is like the war on drugs, you lost drugs won. Not because of drugs or covid but because of the shit floating around in people's heads after 200 years of essentially a country who's economic system and grand plan for society is all your problems are group x so fuck those freeloaders and get out of society. Turns out those people be them prisoners or mexicans don't just instantly stop existing and surprise surprise we are actually all in this together. So if your neighbors are dumb fucks it turns out it effects everyone even rich people and people you don't agree with philosophicaly. Maybe I'm crazy but if so called socialism of some things keeps the place from going completely insane that's worth it to me.

The Temps are sooooo nice, it got to like 30 and I'm sweating balls. With the sun it's like Orlando out there

Got on the snow around 940 to the sixer and quad running. First run was down challenge which was so bad I was surprised they dropped the rope. Brutally firm snow but the real issue is its lumpy af with huge trenches and what can only be described as lumps. I like bad snow but it was just break your leg bad not fun at all. Razors is exactly the opposite, slightly firmer than Monday but super consistent hammer down snow. They did build risers for the race kids and at least this morning there was gates and shit laying qround everywhere so keep your eyes peeled. I would say I don't know know how you couldn't see them but someone proved me wrong on that a few years back. TCS, switch and main are nearly as good though the freeze thaw snow is just starting to show up. Side was getting full sun and it's such a nice trail when you can see it. Low crowds and perfect weather make it a very nice day on the hill.

Uneventful in snow sports is a good thing Bear has such a nice setup even the nastar flag is fancy

How is it out there ? Going to try to get there around 12 hoping the lines aren't insane

You can use CT at like 3am but otherwise my experience was similar to yours. Sick trip and sometimes the thruway is shit too particularly if it's snowing near albany

I love the one I call mt. Nippletop, it's like a perfect cone I cannot figure out how they made it but it's a doozy. The section your talking about has more holes than pavement.

They had some semi serious dings from at least 3 trips where it was pow skiing with lower tide so just having ground bases and some kind of edge is nice. They are flat underfoot though so it's always a bit of give them more angulation if you dare but at least on razors the snow was super easy. I waived from the lift but you were trucking down razors. Challenge had some spots where I definitely wish I had some camber and I didn't ski it but a guy on the lift said Burma was half ice half hero snow from I guess where they blew.

While I might totally say that I doubt I would say it about elk. I know I'm in the extreme minority but I'm not a huge fan

Sick road trip and skiing road trips are my favorite. Mittersill is super cool and Cannon is straight up old school EC skiing. Love the pictures, you can smell the pines and it looks like you nailed the timing.

Schif and Skinncy make a Colorado skication

Sick bird !!!!!! Thats grade a prime stoke ! Snowcats are the coolest just to ride around and get all amped up in. -
It's not busy, it's an elk situation where you have low uphill capacity. Almost every run was one of two people max unless you're on lazy or dis. I'm sure steeze knows but let's say uphill capacity for the quad is 400 per hour. With the current scheme there is no line it's just random so some of that line is you are only getting a % of that theoretical capacity through the gates efficiently. Then once through the gates they are only filling maybe half the chairs, others have 3 or even 2. There are a decent amount of noobs and if it stops it may stop for a minute though today it was fine and all of this just destroys its uphill capacity. From 920 to 930 everyday it starts backing up until they run the sixer. With systems I'm very logic dependent so it drives me nuts because it's so stupid. Run the sixer in the morning and there will be zero line. Nobody on the trails is nice but particularly the people who paid and can't use VIP were pretty unhappy particularly at 1045 on a Monday morning.

At the end of last week my work luck ran out and for the next two weeks I have 8-930 standing call MWF. The degen in me can't deal and decided we can do everything from the car at least for today. 940 I was out and lines were just starting to form. First run was razors which was so nice I ran it 7 times in a row. Perfect hard soft snow made for effortless full speed hyper carves. Post downhill I'm always at least a little fired up to channel my inner Innerhofer and float some high speed airs. The armpit between razors and back has a most excellent lip and if it was up to me I'd still be out there seeing just how far and fast you can take it. Plus I can't pretend it's not prime lift viewing and who doesn't like to slut it up for those on the couch. Alas it was not meant to be, around 1030 you could feel the crowds were about to hit critical mass and overrun the quad. The vip line held on until about 11 but by 1115 the line was back to the sixer and even with such good snow by 1145 that's peace y'all. ✌️ Slap it, poke it, go in the back, you can even tickle it. My favorite snow is the one where you can paint however you like on the canvas and thats what's out there.......once they start the sixer up and you can get to it.

Super super super awesome day number like 26, everything outside of a couple of spots on main and challenge was 10/10. Switch again I thought was tits Mcgee but it's so good the ditch is back in play, that's the most fun on the hill most days. Cold day made warm by lots of sun and a most excellent parking lot. Enjo the pizza was perfect and for real you are the sausage king of Chicago. Only thing missing was a certain presence with Steeze......Grilled Steeze to be precise, hope you were waking up next to someone cute, who wasn't filing out the baritone section of karoke

Near bimbo bakeries on Shantz there is one that is so large it opened my rear door this morning when I hit it. I realized it wasn't closed all the way with the ice but I thought for sure I knocked the soul out of my car when all the lights came on and 8483992 warnings went off and the door open light came on. There are so many out there you gotta 3/4 mtn road and parts of 143. It was all pretty good to the last one for whatever reason they ripped alot of asphalt up this last storm. There is one between 20th and 17th on Market St in Philly I swear to god it hit solid frame.
