  1. Drive to blue was only crazy with the traffic, maybe my longest trip to blue ever. Drive home was way faster but it had mostly stopped snowing by then
  2. I'm famous ! Another favorite of mine is circumlocutious which means overly wordy 🤣😂🤣🤣
  3. Snow was going to be shit for sure. I'm still headed up tonight and tomorrow morning, gotta get whatever you can.
  4. That's super sick !!! Parts of that hill are super steep and end in sheer rock cliffs down to the rail road tracks. My daughter and I hike there alot and that was were I skied years ago. The best line I can think of is park at the end of Klapperthal behind the grave yard and go up like your going to the witches hat. As you go through the last of the switch backs and are walking across the ridge and are in the trees still you'll see natural drainages. The 3 or 4th one closer to where the trail comes out into the open up top where the cellphone tower is where the most clean. At the very bottom right at the tracks it gets very steep and cliffy but you can go straight out the train tracks back to west neversink road right at Massaro. Alternatively you can go all the way up and keep on the trail past the cell phone tower. Eventually you hit a road, neversink mtn or Ganter or Mtn top, I can't remember but go left and up and you'll run straight into the big diagnol power line cut. All that shit is thick with Mtn Laurel but I thought the drainages were better as the water sort of drags all that crap down the hill.
  5. Blue marsh I heard was pretty grown in so not much different than skiing anywhere else but I have no idea first hand as I only see it going to Christmas Village.
  6. I second, third and fourth this motion......does anyone know how to reach think Greg? Can we bring in an independent contractor? Benm can you hook us up ? 🤣😂😂🤣😂😂
  7. It looks like Mt Penn but could be never sink. Mt Penn has more of those stone walls. Thats balling out major ! Boney as shit with a ton of trees down. Just to go from top to bottom there is very impressive! In my whole life I've only skied never sink where the big power line cut you can see from 422 one time. Way to get after it !!!
  8. By the way he simply adores when you say milk it, knowing how much he likes it NM and tried to use it as frequently as possible. Let's all try to work it into our blue lexicon so he feels appreciated when he gets back.
  9. Sorry about your brother, I hope he's better asap +++++++++ I scored an appointment on the 5th, gotta go to Towanda but I'm so stoked I'd drive pretty much anywhere.
  10. I'll be up later this week after the ice storm, I thought about this morning but my ass was tired from flying all day yesterday and my ski bag was delayed. Good to see blue is still skiing well.
  11. Think twisting across the length of the ski. I wouldn't get too crazy with specs but ride them as well because it really depends where the stiffness is and how's it applied across the ski. Something that is only stiff in the tails skis alot different than something that's stiff across the entire ski. Your not looking for a radius or something but a ski that allows you to carry more speed with the absolute key of any ski, confidence. You got your turny smooth good groomer snow ski now you need something that also pushes you when it's uneven. Your a strong bike rider so use those muscles when it most matters, when it snows and it's 3d. Whatever ski does that buy that ski. Especially for Whiteface. Last I saw you ski challenge from the lift you wanted more than the rtms can give you at speed. You have more leg in the ski that in can handle without being twitchy. That's what I saw for whatever thats worth.
  12. Adventure is seriously underrated, often dismissed as a flight of fancy or a trivial diversion. Something if time allows, something only after all the serious work has been done. I think if you made me sum up today and this whole week it's that adventure is like truffle that makes everything taste good but for your spirit. The first line NM spotted, moments after we could see the place thrusday morning was up Palmyra peak. A ribbon of white along a rocky ridge led to a seeming shangri-la, a rock rimmed ramp of HR Fluff and Stuff. We inquired with the local bar keep as to conditions yesterday and like any fine keeper of ales she gave us word that their few tracks past the first gate. The snow swept in around 8 and by the time we started marching up the ridge the wind was wipping flakes into a snowglobe like frenzy. NM the Himalayan mtn goat was first to the prize but as a fine gentlemen let me go first. I got to dive fast and sweeping into a perfect ramp of piles of pow. As the steepness faded slightly a apron of deep untracked was revealed. Full pow bounce in effect, knee to waist blower in 1000 vert rock cathedral all to our lonesome. Pictures cannot do the experience justice, the scale of the place. That little green dot is NM in the apron. We had a bald mtn run immediately after which yielded the deepest turns of the trip possibly. All this the day after a full day of diamond dust, after a day in helicopters skiing stupid long lines of untracked under perfect skies, after a 8 inch pow day on a empty Wednesday in Telluride. I met Barb, I laughed until my sides hurt. To say it was a good trip is a slanderous beytral akin to 9/11 lol Adventure then was what this was all about and to do so now under such onerous living conditions is what it's all about. Formally then to everyone thank you ! Super shout out to Atomic for making this all happening and being the most finest host. Adventure is far easier to find then good people to do it with.
  13. Not enough boner city's in the world ! An absolute classic and you got it in great conditions. Super super sick skiing, its like the skiing equivalent of Yankee stadium !!!! That book, the slide guide 2 by Drew Hass and the ADK Green trail book is 90% of everything in the east outside of the Chic Chocs.
  14. That's so fucking sick !!! PA lines are so cool because they are soooooo rare. Bravo 👏👏👏
  15. Elk you can close your eyes and fall down like any pa Hill. Knob your crashing into a rock, tree or the mid mountain Jimmy buffet themed bar or the school bus in the terrain park the kids smoked weed in. It's the polar opposite of Elk. If elk is skiing in Vermont like stowe, the knob is magic. It's the crack head brother of PA skiing and if you like that kind of thing, maybe platekill is the next closest but that's almost too clean. Magic I think is the closest other place that is so rowdy.
  16. Good to hear ! With a little bit of money it could be even more amazing but is in a bad spot. East wall glades would challenge any skier, at least back in the day they were boney as fuck. This and your Catamount TR are super cool and I love small unique areas. Suicide six is on the indy pass and if your coming back from Jay or something its cool af. The front pitch is short but steep and the trees skiers left and far right are pretty good for 600 ft. Its small so only if your in the area but worth a stop for the history alone plus maybe the coolest name in skiing. Pats peak too in NH is a wild little hill, for awhile the only eastern skier in the fwt was from pats peak.
  17. Holy shit I didn't see this, I loooove the knob and was actually talking about it with NM and Atomic tonight. Super cool tr from a serious underrated place. How about stemboggen ? That shit cracks me up but the glades and extrovert and east wall glades are legit. I used to go there alot when my cousin went to Penn St toon town and the logging roads up there are legit too. Did they get a sign yet ? It's been awhile but last time I was there the access road had a piece of cardboard that just said ski with an arrow. That road is sketchy af with weather and my cousin said he saw a car go off when he was in college. Driving up it in snow makes blue Mt drive feel like pch. The last right I think it is and you can breath again.
  18. No your totally right that's part of what made it so insane, it would be like seeing your gf but totally new way
  19. Not my first time there too but from a helicopter it's totally different. To see telluride like that was insane. I don't have a foggy lens, the windows are light plastic on choppers so not perfectly clean but you get the point.
  20. The interesting thing is some are desperate to go back to normal whatever that means and I don't think people are generally aware how much a large % will push back because they like this life style better. I'm not talking just about remote work but alot of people don't want to ever leave their house and do shit and rona made them a hero. There is going to be alot of people that are going to have a hard time reintegrating into society. Ultimately though the humans as islands would fail, there is a reason why things were a certain way.
  21. No way people are wearing masks for years, you have until June and then people are done.
  22. While I'd hope for a sharp decline I think it's going to be a gradual decline until the end of summer.
  23. Today was beyond words, the excitement just going to the airport was all time and when our bird flew over I think my dick moved. The scenery is unrivaled and I spent both flights glued to the windows. It's hard to pick a favorite skiing experience, the stupid fun at blue, stupid deep days out west, great adventures in the woods but this maybe my favorite and I got wicked sick. I don't puke like ever and I puked 4 times in the parking lot when we got back. I don't think it was altitude, I was definitely huffing but that's pretty normal and it doesn't jack with your stomach. Maybe the sushi but I came back to the ski mansion and spent some time with the porcelain throne and still maybe my favorite day ever. That's how good it was, Silverton if you like that kind of thing is something everyone should do. The views alone are worth the trip and while I have extra motivation to get back having seriously disappointed myself it was one of those days I'll remember super fondly for the rest of my days. Super shout out to Cincy, I didn't get to say adieu formally but the heli pics and video are super cool.
  24. Today was the amuse bouche of skiing. When NM told me it snowed I almost couldn't believe it and today normally would be a super super good day but with tomorrow looming it was the perfect appetizer. I don't know how I'll ever sleep tonight.
  25. I just landed in Montrose and Schiffs body double is here, 100% serious same jacket and everything for a minute I thought I took mushrooms or something before the flight and ended up in Allentown
