Can't do that here the financials are way different. PA mtns spend alot of money blowing snow and they certainly aren't vail resorts. VR can probably do 200ish to break even assuming reasonable numbers, Blue has to be considerably higher 4 something maybe.

That's not what I'm saying at all, PSIA has a purpose, there is great utility in PSIA, they are an integral part of the sport. I would take a PSIA course and in the other thread talked about doing Tuesday night clinic. I would have lots of fun doing it. My point is that's all great but it's not what the sport is about, its a vehicle to get to what the sport is about. Historically the shit PSIA is interested in was part of the stagnation of skiing in the 90's, rigid dogma, intense focus on technical aspects without recognition for all the other shit skiing is actually about. Park skiing, something PSIA had/has pretty much ignored was what brought the sport back, it's whats driving the youth growth and the difference between park skiing and PSIA stuff is readily apparent to anyone. I'm not dissing PSIA, I'm saying statements like they have PSIA level 1000 shit at elk means almost nothing to me. They have no more meaning than any other random group because PSIA and JL aren't interested in the same things. Also in case you haven't noticed by now don't take things here very seriously my favorite past time here is to twist panties.....

Blue absolutely is part total junk show. They have one of the least talented general crowds around. But blue is really a country boy that moved to the city, he fell into a job in porno when everyone realized he had a 12 inch dick. They particularly in the past succeed almost in spite of themselves. Air pressure, specific physical properties of water, 4d space time or gravity. Human shit like materials Science, industrialization,manufacturing, electrical production, billions of people doing exactly what they are supposed to everyday. Thousands of muscles all firing in perfect synchronization with my brain to make constant tiny adjustments based on fluid in my ear in a system we call balance. All that fucking shit so my mostly ignorant hairless monkey self can ride two tiny pieces of metal around a curved area of frozen water at 50mph. That shit is fucking nuts and it's alot more than edge purchase and turn shape. It's the solitude of click clack skis,its the unbridled adventure of bc skiing, it's flying like a mother fucking bird in park skiing and powder.....dude powder skiing is quit your job and live in the woods type shit. There are no tennis bums or dudes washing dishes and working construction 15hrs a day all summer so they can play hacky sack when winter finally arrives. Powder is floating in a 3d column of water, deep pow is a religion. I wanna see it all, the good, the bad, I want to be as good as I possibly can in all aspects but nobody but particularly PSIA is going to define this experience for me.

Because marketing is a reflection of the mountain's culture, DV is DV because that's how they sell tickets in that market. You know what your experience is going to be base in part on how they sell themselves. PSIA is not skiing, PSIA is a small portion of skiing. Are they good skiers ? Certainly, but so is the guy in 3pins noodling down Funnel at CB and they might as well be in two totally different sports. Skiing is alot of shit most of which has nothing to do with short radius turns on groomers. Ask the elk peeps what they think of Okemo ? When they profess their love of Okemo get back to me on the advanced intermediate dealio.

hahaha I like slow lifts, shitty lodges and what not. Platty, MRG, Pow Mow, Suicide Six, etc I love those kind of places. They have boring trails that are straight shots down the fall line, what would be their switchback ? They sell elk as VT in PA which is hilarious but they certainly have the attitude as if they weren't another 1k vert hill in PA. Advanced intermediates is their entire game, trail design certainly but there entire marketing is geared to that class. Hey it's just like VT only closer, our snow is way better not because of our slightly lower temps and the fact that we do 1/4 the numbers because were in bumblefuck Endless Mtn area but because we are so good at grooming. That's horseshit, that's crap only advanced intermediates buy, then they tell there advanced intermediate friends and they all feel like they know the secret spot in PA. Blue Knob is the best in PA, it's not even up for discussion. Bear has far more advanced grooming techniques but noobs don't jerk them off constantly so I guess that doesn't count. I don't have any interest in bumps so maybe that makes a difference......also I'm an opinionated asshole if you haven't already noticed LOL

I only bring my kid to blue once a year or so but the area near the summit lodge is either 1 person who got lost or 1000000 people in a flying V formation, one goes down and 10000 more go down like dominoes. Scary, but your fuck trophy is a boy so they generally don't care at all.....

I'll say this, consensus is among professionals that march 15thish to first week in April will be colder than usual for the EC. Two storm potentials, both are going to have temp issues but it's certainly possible. If you made me bet I say both storms are going to drop some snow around us but we'll mostly get rain, even more importantly a high pressure will come in after this transition back to colder air which should keep all the rain away. Honestly now your better off with cold high pressure because storms are way too likely to drop rain.
