Seriously though if you ski long enough shit is bound to happen, the stuff you can see coming is generally ok, there are ways to take a fall and ways to deal with falls in sketch ball areas. It's the random shit that comes from hubris, inattentive behavior that is gonna cause death. Then there is just random shit you can't do nothing about. I know everyone out there has story so post that shit up and make this thread interesting. I was at Brighton many moons ago dicking around inbetween Millicent and Crest Express, if you know that area it's a fucking playground of rock formations. If you take the high traverse across scree and do a short walk you hit this area with a solid 30ft and a narrow ass rock chute. I wanted the fucking chute, like straight line shit, cousin has the camera so Kodak courage is going 110%. Access is shit, little platform not wide enough for the boards, I don't fucking care I'm gonna jump turn in. Billionth of a second later the right ski hits the wall of the chute and goes flying, FUCK. I didn't even blink lifted the leg up and straightlined that bitch on one board, never even felt the 3-4ft drop about 3/4 way down. Hit the run out and I'm fucking having a heart attack realizing what just happened. Had you asked me ahead of time I don't think I would have been able to ski that on one leg but the body is interesting when you have no choice. I should have blasted my head off any number of things, I should probably at best broken something and at worst been a vegetable but that's life and now I got this sweet picture to laugh about.

17th-18th is bullshit unless you live in Newfoundland Big potential for 20-22 but It's probably not going to blow it's load all at once, additionally it looks south/OTS but interesting potential here. It's just like twin tips 50% reality 50% marketing. It absolutely has a use just not in every ski. What is improved with a directional hard snow charging carver with rocker ? Turn iniation is not the point behind that kind of ski. In hard snow you want grip and grip is a function of effective edge. Reverse camber reduces effective edge and thus will not have the same potential grip as full positive camber. Reverse camber is clutch in soft snow, a full reverse reverse ski is an incredible pow tool but it's total crap every were else, it physically can't carve. Hence the hybrid fun shapes. Rocker also promotes steering which reduces iniation and is behind a lot of skidding which is at truly epic levels.

Check out the dps wailer 105 hybrid 2, Stephen Drakes skis are legendary. You will pay out the ass but they are worth it. 112 RP2 or 112 RPC if you make the trip out west frequently.

Rossi B Squad 104, Dynastar Legend Pro and Head Monster 103 are all pretty old and no longer exist. The modern equivalent is a pre-2014 ON3p Wren, Moment Belafonte, Rossi Exp 98 (on the softer side), Blizzard Bodacious/Cochise, 4frnt Devastator. Long radius, stiff chargers. 188 Dynastar LP - they have never made a better charging long radius ski, surfboard era build and next year... anything newer has softer tips. This is my favorite ski of any I've ever owned. 202 Squad 7 - I bought the Super 7's the year before these came out buy I've ridden them for a total of 4 days across all conditions and really fun ski, really stable carver for the newer mid width shapes. Obvious soft snow performer, good western every day ski like the Wren. 13/14 181 Wren - insanely good mix condition/ powder charger, perfect weight. excellent crud buster probably second only to the 191 Katana which is a much worse pow ski A star heli and DPS 138 Lotus pure - nipple deep blower for life on the best pure pow ski ever Honestly though I'd have a 1000 pairs of every ski possibly imaginable.
