188 Dynastar LP - they have never made a better charging long radius ski, surfboard era build and next year... anything newer has softer tips. This is my favorite ski of any I've ever owned. 202 Squad 7 - I bought the Super 7's the year before these came out buy I've ridden them for a total of 4 days across all conditions and really fun ski, really stable carver for the newer mid width shapes. Obvious soft snow performer, good western every day ski like the Wren. 13/14 181 Wren - insanely good mix condition/ powder charger, perfect weight. excellent crud buster probably second only to the 191 Katana which is a much worse pow ski A star heli and DPS 138 Lotus pure - nipple deep blower for life on the best pure pow ski ever Honestly though I'd have a 1000 pairs of every ski possibly imaginable.

I've ridden most of their lineup the last three or so years, mostly spring conditions but some softer stuff. Their skis are well made, triax, 2.2 edges, 4001 bases and their CO rep is cool as fuck. The Shaman is an interesting ski, it's a XXL LP, M103, BS104 type ski but short radius. 184 is like 18m and the shorty is around 15m. That's kind of weird for this kind of ski. No rocker is entirely appropriate for this concept, a LP is not improved by rocker, what the fuck do you need rocker for on a LP ? It's a gun, a leggy charger, if you can't turn it why are you buying it ? The concept behind the Shaman I think is this, your a western player, you charge pretty hard on groomers, maybe some racing background but your not the classic long radius gunner like the skis mentioned above are oriented to. You like slower speeds and more turns, that's a pretty narrow user base but IA ain't about numbers necessarily. My personal thoughts are that I'm not sure how many people ski like that though admittedly alot of lineups are going shorter radius, for what it is though it's a good ski. Only knock on IA skis are they transfer alot of vibration on firmer groomed cord.

Crazy crazy model shit, 5-6th event retrogrades off the coast of maine and provides blocking for a three!!! phase storm. Three separate pieces of upper level energy means the fucking models should be all over the place right, instead 5 or so all show the same thing a bigger storm with serious snow potential, GFS though says no dice. Three phase storms are like going up to the roulette table and putting all your money on 18 read, a hell of alot has to go right for snow. Little movement west, little change in timing of the phasing and the whole thing is off. This one is a long shot but the models really seem to like it.

It's becoming apparent that the AO shot it's load, for mid latitudes that means little cold air for awhile. Looks like slight cool down around the 11th - 15th, occasional sub freezing nights but the sustained cold is probably gone until the AO can finish recharging which would make for a cold January.

Blowing snow is a dicey proposition that depends on 100 different variables outside of weather. If your window is 6 hours but your pumps in that time can only push say 5000gpm you could maybe get half a trail done if then the next week is above freezing you would be better off taking that money and shoving it up your ass. Which, funny enough, is also where your opinion should go. If you want Sno to be there next year they have to be highly profitable to service their debt load. That means they spend as little money as possible while maximizing visitors and then money they spend. You don't do that by blowing snow in shit conditions, with shitty future weather for 10 fucking people who are all going to be passholders who don't spend money on the shit they actually make money on like booze and food. We aren't their customers, we are bankers lending them money at o% interest rates in an arrangement called a season pass, their customers are Bob and Suzy Chapstick who have 4 kids and show up once in Feb and once in January after it snows. They rent gear and spend 150$ on food.
