Yeah the boardercross looked pretty fun! I accidently took my little sister on it--I forgot it was set up!
-
Did you see that guy? He was wearing the tackiest faux-fur coat I've ever seen! I felt so bad for his poor child.

I know, Lib, seriously impressed! I could never call an event... I process the information that I see very slowly. Great job!!! The event looked great--def. room for improvement next year, but Sno did a great job. ALSO, I LOVED hearing music from both from nastar and the HP!!

I saw some quality hits. Lots of spinning and even some flipping. Lots of fun!

The moose is "okay." I have nothing against moose, however, it really isn't representative of wildlife in PA. Also, the moose mascot conflicts with the move toward "snake" oriented trail names. Regardless, I guess a mascot is good for branding purposes.

The world has seen lots of fabulous events pulled off in minimal time with minimal resources; let's wait to see how Sno does... I'm just saying is all!

That hurts, TP4.

Papasteeze, I know NOTHING about park skiing. Not a bit. I've been off a few jumps, that's about it. My point is just that it is hard to judge whether the park will be set up well without actually seeing how the park is set up WHEN the event occurs. It's completely legitimate to complain about the day to day features of the park if you ride it every day. It is a whole nother thing to complain in advance that the park may or may not be set up well for an event two weeks in the future, based on how the park looks now. I think everyone should just chill and see what happens when the event occurs. If the set-up sucks, then complaints are justified. Who knows, maybe they will completely redo the park and it will be awesome! If everyone is nervous about the park set-up, perhaps everyone could expend their energy expressing their concerns to the Sno Mountain management. I am seriously sure they'd love to hear what sort of features people would like to see from the people who will attend the event!

Hi Everyone!!! I think we are losing sight of the important things in life. I just went out with some of my friends and had a fantastic dinner and a bunch of drinks. I'm half-intoxicated. This is 100% better than arguing online-->where no one wins-->they just argue forever. I think that everyone should just have a drink, and maybe watch something fun on t.v.! And for perspective, the most fun times that I've had skiing were fun because of the super-fun people I was hanging out with NOT because of the conditions. Also, this thread is a bit much ado about nothing. How can you criticize an event which has not occured? I realize that everyone is paranoid that the park might not be perfect, but honestly, you can't complain beforehand. Finally, I volunteer to be the checkered flag girl if/when there is a Chinese downhill. xoxo, Melissa P.S. This Tuesday is National Grammar Day--I look forward to everyone celebrating!

Ohhh, now I want to watch Top Gun!

Have fun everyone! I won't be able to make it, but I will be there on Saturday. Perhaps another Sunday people can come again for the special!!
-
Papasteeze, will you be coming up for this event? Also, per the Sno park website, Planet is building/rebuilding stuff for the Revolution tour.
-
Ahhhh I just read all these. Thanks guys.

This would be awesome... I can't wait. Sounds like the perfect time to pack a flask.

It does look really pretty.

Proportional responsiblity between whom? The girl and the ski resort or the girl and the guy? I don't know much about skiing and negligence. What I can tell you is that Pennsylvania has comparative negligence, and I think they are a modified comparative negligence state. What does this mean? You are driving in a car and another car hits you. You want to sue them, right? Yeah, duh, because they hit you. So you sue them. Well, after presenting the evidence, the jury decides that the damages were 100k, but also found that you were actually 35% responsible for the collision! AH! This means, you can only recover 65k. What if the trial happens, and you were more than 50% responsible for it? Then, under a modified comparative negligence state, you can recover nothing, since you were more at fault than the other person. Yeah, um, I don't know if anyone wanted to know that, but know ya do. Although a beginner skiier should not be in a park disrupting the activities of park people, let's not forget that the ski resort has a duty to make its premises safe for its customers. With this, I would imagine (by imagine I mean that I have done no research on this) that they have a duty to notify its skiiers of potentially hazardous conditions--like jumps. Sometimes, terrain parks are set up on slopes that are marked green circle (like Mainline at Sno), and at the entrance of the run, there is no "terrain park black diamond" notice. Finally, the doctrine of assumed risk could be used as a defense to liability, although I do not know that a beginner skiier who was only skiing on beginner terrain (assuming that the terrain park was not marked as intermediate/expert) assumes the risk of being landed on.

Seriously, if you are going to faux post, you could at least be accurate about it. It takes about 30 seconds to wiki or google something...

Hmmm, interesting considering that February is part of the dry season in Mumbai, and the 10 day forecast shows NO RAIN.

Glad that you had such a wonderful time. Two things. First, that turkey with brie sounds delicious. I love all things brie. Second, I find it amusing that you do not have cocktails, you have "mega cocktails." I can't argue with that.

Right. Keep dreaming. Please discuss something else now. Thanks.

I've only ever seen rattler closed once... it is usually open. Though, I haven't been up since Friday, so maybe it was closed over the weekend, I don't know.
