Awesome. I wear a lilac spyder jacket with black pants.

YAY, Chippy is taking some time out of his very busy two job schedule to come to Sno! Are you guys gonna stay for the parade and fireworks?
-
Sno is not crowded on the weekends. I was there the Saturday of MLK weekend, and it was not crowded. Maybe you had to wait 5 liftchairs, max.
-
I wear fur, but not like that.

I would just like to report that I did not see ANY antlers today, however I did see some yesterday. I think they should let me ski around with antlers on. Does anyone know what the raffle prize was? Shoulda been like some Moosehead lager or something. Do they even have that in the bar? I don't remember seeing it...
-
Haha, small world. Hopefully they realized it's not a good idea to go fast through a crowded parking lot with snow on the ground...

"Moose is Loose Weekend! Look for Moose Antlers on the Mountain between 10am and 3pm Catch up to each skiing or boarding moose and ask to have your card stamped get all 5 stamps and enter your card in the "Moose is Loose" Raffle Winners will be announced at 4pm in Sno Grille! All children who take a Superkids Lesson this weekend (2/9 & 2/10) will receive a FREE Sno Mountain Plush Mini Moose!" OMG, haha where do we get the cards to be stamped??? This is pretty funny. I saw a bunch of people skiing around with the antlers on yesterday, we were wondering what was up with that. DRINKS ON ME to anyone who can get me a "Plush Mini Moose"!

No, I don't think so, I met Nick once and it def. wasn't him. Two kids in an old green neon. The saab now has green scratches on it:( I'm just lucky I didn't get more damage--they totally just plowed into the front of the car.

I waved hello! Ski you were with a whole posse of people you were skiing with! Today was a great day skiing... all of the trails were pretty cool, but honestly, I did not like the kind of snow on Smoke. I thought it was not groomed well (kind of chunky for lack of a better term). Obviously, people will disagree with me, but however you describe that kind of snow, I did not like it--felt like I was just sliding in it and couldn't grip at all. On the way out of the parking lot, some teenagers totally plowed into the saab:( This is the SECOND time the saab has been hit in the snow, and the saab has never even hit anyone!! The kids apologized and gave me their insurance info, but they were totally driving too fast in a crowded parking lot:(

Congrats guys. I was there from like 6:30-9 but didn't see you guys racing.

My life got way busier. Seriously. I need to stop volunteering to do stuff.

Funny story about Space Mountain... I was five the first time I went to Disneyworld, and at the time, I was OBSESSED with haunted houses but HATED roller coasters. For some reason, I had it in my head that Space Mountain was a haunted house (I know, I know, I mustn't have been very bright as a child). Well, I wouldn't shut up about Space Mountain, so my dad was going to take me on it. The whole time we waited in line my parents were like, Melissa, are you SURE you want to go on this? Are you SURE? And I was like, Oh yeah def. Well, of course, we go on it and I was totally freaked out. I was like, OMG Dad why are we going so fast? I hated it, and it took me a good like 4 years to get on another roller coaster. No, I will not be racing tonight, however I THINK I'll be up skiing if my friend is feeling better. She is off from work today b/c she doesn't feel too hot, but she thinks she'll be okay to go over for a bit. OHhhhh maybe we'll stop in the bar though afterwards for the apres race specials... hmmm.

Glow in the dark gates?

Thunderstorms are for sitting on your covered balcony drinking beer and watching the lightning--NOT skiing.
-
Seriously, it's poured all day in Scranton, and we've had quite a few thunderstorms as well... I can't say that I have any desire to ski in a thunderstorm.

Skipped work today and went skiing with the fam (visiting). While they were getting lessons (hadn't skiied in a whiiiiile), I skiied Boomer and Cannonball. Both were awesome. I also hit that new trail Rattler a few times. Kinda cool I guess. Long Haul wasn't running. The rest of the time I spent up the top with my family. My dad did a pretty awesome job for not being on skis in 8 years especially because he has a torn ACL that has never been repaired. My mom kind of sucks at skiing, she isn't athletic at all but she is a good sport so it's all good. My little sister did really well too, I even got her to ski on one ski! I was getting really bored skiing Highball slowly with my family, so I practiced skiing backwards and skiing on one leg and then switching to the other leg. At least it kept me occupied. ANYWAYS.... the main terrain park (not mainline, the one by the NASTAR course) was being rebuilt. Conditions were decent packed powder. Smoke and Boomer were groomed. Oh yeah, and it was totally empty!

Good luck and have fun everyone!!! Slam a beer or 5 afterward for me!
-
I can't connect either:(
-
Ohhh, great report, I've been super busy but I can't wait to get up and check out the newly opened trails!
-
Whoa, someone needs to be schooled in how to be friendly... I've never skiied Elk, but have heard great things about it. I am sorry to hear about your experience and their lack of customer service though... I can never understand it when people in the guest satisfaction/customer service industry have a cavalier attitude.
-
Yay! Look for me. I've been practicing skiing on one leg--I'm getting pretty good at it!
-
I'll be up Saturday with a friend who is flying up from Virginia for the holiday weekend (fyi, it is Lee-Jackson Day in Virginia, no joke). She hasn't skiied in a while, so look for me on the upper part of the mountain... I've got a lilac spyder jacket and black pants. If it's cold enough, I have a matching hat.

Ah, how fortuitous! Sno just updated their website: "Sno Mountain has received 10" of fresh snow over the past 3 days!!! Snowtubing is scheduled to open Friday evening, weather permitting. Snowmaking has continued and will continue when temperatures allow to ensure that Sno Mountain continues to have the best conditions available!!"
-
Right now it's 31 degrees in Scranton, so it is not cold enough to blow. When I got into my car this morning at 8am, it was 27 degrees, so it might have been cold enough for them to blow last night, but I don't know.

OMG, why am I on thin ice??? Sorry, I didn't go down Whistler. Yeah, the lack of sushi is KILLING me. I used to eat it six times a week when I lived in Richmond--I miss it so much here.
