Keep everyone posted! I might have a friend who wants to come along as well.

Blue's ski patrol is out of control. Maybe next year they can institute a time-out corner for fast skiiers.
-
I'll try to make whatever day so I can see yall before I leave PA! (For those not going to Stowe, but everyone should go.) P.S. Please let me know which date is definite so I can order something on ebay AND ship it to the right address (unlike last year where my awesome outfits got shipped to my old address in Richmond).

What, there is a members only forum?! Jealous. The 21st works for me. I don't think I can do the 14th.
-
Okay, so is this thing happening? Are yall in? 9am somewhere? Please reply.
-
OH, I would probably be down with that. It's up to PC. I'll only be there for two nights (Fri and Sat), but if it comes out cheaper than staying in a hotel, I don't mind splitting the condo/house. I'll cook if you buy the beer!

OH, this video is really good. Was this last Sunday? I know nothing about park, but the park looks like it is (was) in good condition!

Thanks all for the reports! Of course, I just heard from my little sister that ski club got cancelled tonight. Probably a good idea, but I had totally psyched myself up to go skiing tonight, even if it would be raining. Looks like I'll be there another Friday night though, perhaps with better conditions!
-
Haha thanks. It might suck, but I'll be there! Like I said, it's a planned event, so I need to go Friday night.
-
Haha, I've thought that too. Oftentimes I'll see a typo and want to call and ask them to correct it.
-
Thanks for the tips! I can't go in the morning--the Friday evening thing is a planned event, so we'll see how it goes!

Hey All, I'm headed to Camelback Friday night, and I was curious if anyone has been there lately. If so, is the snow in good condition? The last and only time I've been there was late March last year, and the snow was crappy. Thanks!
-
That's a great deal, and I considered it, but I can only ski for two days. Thanks for the heads-up though!
-
So, let's get this thread back on topic! I found a few places where I think I can get like $80 a night. And I think the two-day lift ticket is $82, right? So, that's cool.

If you'd like to go with yourself (and leave the hubby behind), I'd be happy to carpool and share a room with you. Just let me know.

Google maps says its 6.5 hours. I really hope they are calculating that based on going 55 miles per hour... That is a LONG drive!
-
I have this weekend on my calendar. I'm looking forward to it. THere is a chance I might not be able to go (say, because I got a job interview or something), but I doubt it because it's Easter weekend. Regardless, I'll have my own room, so no one needs to worry about that. My plan is Fri-Sun.
-
So, lame but I've yet to ski outside of PA. In April, I'll HOPEFULLY be busy interviewing, but if I have the time, I might want to tag along with you guys. Don't worry, I'll probably drive my own car and just stay for a day or two, but it would be nice to finally go to VT and I'm sure you guys could show me some easier trails to get experience on. For the record, I wouldn't make you guys ski with me the whole time as I'm sure you'd prefer to go off and do the super ultra difficult trails.

Oh, way to bring this up guys. I know we had kicked around dates before and came up with March 7th for Sno PASR Day. The Feb. 21st day was something mentioned by the mountain, but I never heard follow up from them on here, and I ended up having to go away that weekend so yeah. ANYWAYS, I'm all for having people up here on the 7th. 4 hour lift ticket w/college i.d. is $32. 4 hour lift ticket for regular people is $43. I don't advocate skiing past the time on your pass, but Sno doesn't check times on your lift pass, so you don't have to worry about getting kicked off as soon as the clock strikes midnight. Obviously, if you are having a blast, you can upgrade to a regular day pass I'm sure. Sno has a fun lodge, and usually has bands. Parking is simple. Not much farther past the Poconos exit on NE Extension... about 15-20 minutes more. Who's interested?

Were they making clear and deliberate turns? I hear that prevents accidents.

I have goode poles. They are "carbon composite." They have pretty pretty pictures of flowers on them. I've never had a problem with them.

first, i read your reports and appreciate them. Second, 90% of streaming video is blocked at work. So annoying! And I can't go to victoriassecret.com ("Adult content" um hello shopping for clothes is totally legit!) and sometimes gossip sites get blocked for no reason at all!

Hey Erin, hope you have a blast out there! Take some pictures and please post them. I like to live vicariously through others! Brian, congrats on drinking faster than your friends. Did the fishbowls have swedish fish in them?

Lol, I was thinking that too, but decided to keep my mouth shut:) I think the green ones would compliment your blue jacket well!!!

Well, one of my friends rented skis this season with the intent to learn how to ski. She has yet to go out, and she was up visiting, and she wanted to ski here. So, I told her that I'd teach her (and/or she could get a lesson if she wanted). We went over to the bunny hill and I showed her how to click in and out of her skis. I then showed her how to move around on the flat by skating, etc. Then I showed her how to sidestep up the bunny hill (we only went like 20-30 feet up) and explained to her the purpose of the skis' edges. Okay, so now time to explain wedging/pizza pie/snow plow/whatever you want to call it. Unfortunately, my friend just could not wedge. It was incredibly frustrating, and I kept on asking her if I was conveying to her what she needed to do, and she reassured me that I had, she just couldn't do it. Obviously, if you can't wedge, you can't ski down anything, as I'll not not be responsible for an out-of-control skiier who cannot stop. Needless to say, we spent about 2 hours sidestepping up the bunny hill. Very unexciting. After that we quit and went drinking in the bar, which was hopping with a really cool band. At one point, she wanted to take a break, so I took one run down Cannonball. Mountain was more crowded than usual, but the only liftline that I saw was for the bunny hill. Snow conditions were softer packed powder. It was sunny out and felt warmer, probably in the upper 30s, but the snow was in good condition and not slushy. Perhaps it would be best described as hero snow b/c it's very easy to carve in. All in all, I am happy that I am not a ski instructor.
