  1. I sent you a PM, you ding dong. I'm out. Between having too much going on and not having my boots because I'm getting the Bibbys all mounted up, it can't do it.
  2. bootpackin', so let me work on this. how long are you staying there?
  3. please feel free to swing by and pick me up
  4. Here's PASR's official meteorologist, Frankie McDonald with his message about the storm:
  5. you kind of look like him. or his slightly drunk brother.
  6. cool that you met Jake Gyllenhaal. see what I did there?
  7. Uh oh.... Hopefully October snow is not indicative of a shitty winter ala last year.
  8. Please say you got a side pic of the chrome spinners
  9. I saw that on Epic, too, and it's great for Whitefish. Your pics all last season were pretty amazing. Hopefully we can make it out there once the girls are old enough. Powder's list kind of cheesed out by picking locations rather than specific resorts. Um, this area with really big mountains? It's really good.
  10. *edit* oh nevermind. It's a reader's poll. I'm sleepy......
  11. I've obviously worked in the bicycle industry for too long. haha This poll is definitely geared toward the paid subscribers of Ski Magazine. The off-hill stuff gets as much coverage as the on-hill. That's exactly what some folks like to get out of the ski experience. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Different strokes, they say. Powder Magazine will have a completely different list for their demo.
  12. One for each cheek? It's cool Whitefish made the list. The jaded jerk in me always thinks these lists are formulated largely by how much each resort spends on ad space in the magazine.
  13. The original idea was that you could change a flat on your front tire without having to take the wheel off. Now that most racers run tubeless systems, it's not really an issue. It's now just weight. Lots of custom frame builders are making Lefty-compatible frames because of the weight savings.
  14. Here's a better pic of someone else's bike: Just thought of another downside: using the Lefty with a fork-mount roof rack BLOWS.
  15. Nah nah - it's the front suspension fork. Most bikes have forks on the front wheel with two legs. The Lefty just has one - the left one, hence the name. And you have no idea to the depth of actual stupid questions I get on a daily basis. Haha
  16. Yep, it's a Lefty. When i first rode one,I did stare at it while riding the first six weeks or so. Despite Justo and T*Maki making fun of it (and my Lycra), I really like it. Since it rolls on needle bearings instead of rubber bushings, the travel is super smooth. Working on it is pretty easy, too. When it replaced the Hedshock (which was a horrendous product), I thought it was just another gimmick fork. The Cannondale guys explained that it's built on the concept of airplane landing gear, and that makes sense. The only downside is getting aftermarket wheels because of the front hub. Stan's No Tubes now makes compatible wheels, so that ends that problem. If you want to take one out for an afternoon, I can grab a demo bike from the shop.
  17. Nice day for playing bicycle games in the Wissahickon
  18. so whaddya say - Oct 26 or Nov 2 (both Fridays)?
  19. these are a vast improvement over the orange atrocities he was sporting last year
  20. From Killington's Facebook page. They started blowing today.
  21. Our new official PASR meteorologist, Frankie McDonald, has some news about Colorado's weekend snow: http://youtu.be/PAAUyVyLSKo
  22. He may get another place, but he may be done having a second home. And his wife, if you see where I'm going with this......
  23. nice! My brother-in-law still hasn't sold his place there, so I'll give you a shout when I get up.
