  1. Ok. Now we don't start boarding for another hour. Time for some overpriced airport beers.
  2. We were late getting into ORD, so I had to run at a pretty good clip to get to my gate, only to find we're delayed. Boooooo
  3. If I had to ride my bike through a vineyard, I'd never make it to work
  4. I might be rolling up later today. If the roads look decent, it's a go.
  5. just walked the dogs, and we have like 2-3 inches already
  6. great pics! I've been on Targas for the past few years. They are very adjustable, but a MASSIVE pain to set up. Once you get them dialed in, they are amazing. Most comfortable straps I've ever used. The little rubber doo-dad that springs your straps open is actually pretty durable. Even if it snaps, Rome will send you a new one.
  7. Alabama has as many snowplows as teeth The local news will hype the shit out of it like they do for everything.
  8. great pics! snow looks pretty nice, too. can't wait to check it out next week.
  9. ....or if they drink or smoke enough, they can ride like Bode. then again, a lot of boarders think if they smoke enough, they can ride like either of the Jeremy Joneses
  10. hurtful. when I'm in the trees or whatever, I try to keep my weight back, so if I get too close to a tree, I can pretty much sit down/lie down and let the board take the impact. When the shit hits the fan, though, it's tough to control anything. I'm with Kyle in that a lot of boarders stay in the parks, where skiers tend to look for more aggressive terrain.
  11. my wife, brother, and sister-in-law may also be joining us
  12. I woke up a little late (4 hours sleep), so I didn't get to the lower lot until 8:05 or so. I saw Jeff and JohnnyLaw hauling down Challenge a few times, but just couldn't catch you guys. Nightmare to Dreamweaver was definitely the best run. Since the 6-pack line was getting silly, I stayed on the Main St chair a lot. There wasn't much of a wait there at all.
  13. I've been running two different sets of Targas on my two boards - 1 set up firm for my freeride board and 1 set up soft for my all-around board. Absolutely love the straps and the consistent flex to them. The baseplates are pretty indestructible, and Rome is really good if you need any thing warrantied or you're missing any parts.
  14. I'd like to give skiing a try again (went twice like 20 years ago), but everything is so friggin' expensive.
  15. just starting out here in Lower Providence
  16. that's a great price. if you've never been there, three days is enough to knock the shit out of you.
  17. ....but when Jeff drank the wine, he held the glass by the stem with his pinky finger extended, because he's a fancy lad
  18. was Come Around rebuilt yet? it was closed off yesterday, and it looked to have at least 6" of new snow blown on it yesterday.

I think it has a lot to do with the sun angle mixed with the shadows all the tall trees cast, but who knows. I was looking for you today, but must've just missed you.

I got there at around 1, and it wasn't horrible. Sugar was getting piled up in spots, but I had my Premier F-1 (big mountain missile), and it pretty much blasted through it all. I was having more problems with the flat light and shadows more than the snow. Widowmaker to the Chute was pretty untouched and nice.
