  1. ok, cool. It was nice not meeting you, BMT. I saw Chris and Jonny stomping out the moguls on my second run through there. They definitely looked like they were on a mission.
  2. Oh, hello everyone. Might as well post a TR since no one else has. Got to the lower lot at about 7:35 and met up with AJeff, who was still booting up. We chit chatted for a bit, then he pointed out that TP4 was parked behind us, but he never introduced us because he's very rude. We got to hang out by the scanners for the pre-first chair BS session, when Mr Doug "I Can't Stop Dancing" GSS called AJeff to check in, most likely out of a jealousy/shame thing. Finally, the guns went off, and everyone sprinted for the chairs. I took my first warm-up run down Lazy to the Falls, all of which was nice cord. Next to Switchback, which was a little cookied-up, but not bad. Speaking of which, the word of the day is "cookie". Next run was down Nightmare/Dreamweaver. Looks like they either decided to add bumps to Nightmare, or some B-52's dropped their collective payloads onto it. The ski patrol was trying to get over them and having a rough go of it. I slipped down the side and went onto Dreamweaver, which was pretty much covered in cookies. Now that the legs were warmed up, time to hit Main St. Upper was ok (again, cookies), and Lower was pretty rough. Took a roll through the lower park, and the jumps were all pretty nice. After that, took another shot at Lazy, which was softening up nicely. Saw AJeff and Justo on the lift as I went down Home Stretch, so I waited by the 6-pack for them. Rode the lift up with them (and TP4? maybe? like I said, AJeff is rude). "What run haven't we done yet?" "Um, Burma...?" Off we went to Burma. Apparently I had taken a different way there, because I lost everyone. Hit the lower park again. I normally have my iPod playing stuff like Fu Manchu, Slayer, Black Flag, and all that stuff. Today I was rocking British songbird, Susan Boyle, just for that extra motivation. This time, I really nailed the first jump and got way up. Grabbed a method, and though "This sure is fantastic. I'm way up in the air, all grabbed and everything. Everyone must be looking at me thinking about how awesome I am. Oh shit. Here comes the landing. I'd better let go..... OOOF!" Damn you, Susan Boyle and your mis-shapen head. After that, got to share the lift with a father/son tandem both on snowlerblades. Teach 'em young. These two were laughing at all kinds of things that weren't remotely funny. "Look at that! It's a tire! How do you ride on a tire? huh huh huh huh huh huh." "There's a wall! How do you ride on a wall? huh huh huh huh huh huh" As things warmed up and the humidity approached 347%, the snow was getting wet and heavy. Took another run down Main St. Upper was good, and Lower was getting piled up. Saw my buddy Mike at the 6-pack, and rode with him for a bit. Sidewinder was pretty good, but too many people that weren't there to ride the features were rambling through, which can get pretty dangerous. Ended up rolling around 10:30 as the sprinkles were about to start and since I had a bunch of junk to do at home (caulking the tub for one). All in all, a fun day. The snow wasn't the best, but when it's warm and wet, there's not much you can do about that. JADIP
  3. the phrase from the world of triathlon is HTFU. Harden the F Up.
  4. you and Bob are coming up? woo hoo! which day?
  5. Nice finally meeting up with you, Moe. Conditions were fair and a bit crowded, especially for a Wednesday. It was like 3" of goodness on top of hardpack. You know, PA boilerplate. Since the temps were above freezing for the first time in about a month, there was no need to dress like an astronaut. The jumps were all nice, but I hit one with not enough speed. Good thing I had my armor on. Drink up, people. Sidewinder is really shaping up. The jumps are looking good, and they got some rails in place. Should be open any day now. If only they could put it on a straight trail......
  6. I'll be up tomorrow, but not sure what time yet. Probably early-ish, though.
  7. Yeah, I considered chasing him down and getting his name so I could report him to Jim, but decided against it. Hopefully all the ski patrollers on snowboards and the park crue know the guy. Whatever. If he wants snowboards to go away, then hopefully he realizes he'd probably be out of a job or be making half of what he does.
  8. nice vid, and nice riding with you guys today. When Tinkle Boy took off to do his thing, I ran a few more laps down Main St and Switchback. On one ride up the 6-pack, I was all the way on the right side of the chair, and some ski patrollers were all the way on the left. One of them, not seeing me, said "I really wish we could kick all these snowboarders off the mountain." Unbelievable. Don't hit your head getting back into your time machine going to 1985. Other than that, great day and great conditions. The only icy spot was on Dreamweaver, and that wasn't even that bad.
  9. Totally fun today. Hope I didn't slow you down too much, Toast. Hope that video of your lift buddies came out. A couple of Blue Mountain classics for sure. Aside the from the first day, the grooming has been really good. The jumps have been shaped really well, too. Really enjoyable season so far.
  10. we got 14" of fresh. it's fantastic. ....and stop posting and start skiing, for the love of Pete!
  11. yeah, we saw the rough shapes of jumps on Sidewinder. gonna be fun. the big air bag looks like it's ready to rock, too.
  12. great conditions and tons of fun. Toast has a new groupie, too. Watch out, Doug. Hope you caught him on video. "Ya know, I think you're a really great skier, and maybe, if you wanted to grab coffee some time....."
  13. I'm planning on rolling up tomorrow AM
  14. just checked the webcam, and it still looks like it's bangin'

  16. great pics and report. snow looked nice and fast. you headed up any more mornings this week?
  17. Great TR, Robert! Please don't die at JF (or anywhere else, for that matter).
  18. can't be. this guy is 21, and TTC6 is in his early 60's
  19. we weren't off smashing into trees.
  20. Got to the lower lot around 1-ish, and saw Jeff at his car. Got booted up, and headed for a quick trip to the rest room before hitting the 6-pack. After I exited and was putting on my gloves, a guy with the ol' cancer kazoo asked me robotically, "How is it out there?". Horrified at him, I replied, "I just got here," and ran away. By the time I got to the corral, I saw Jeff, who was also with xNick. Got to meet him, and he was pretty friggin' cool. Jeff was excited Paradise was open, but was scared of the radar gun waiting for him. Then he said cooly, "Don't worry, dude. I came protected." The engineer he is, he had an undershirt made of the same material as the stealth bomber. Steezy. I was on a brand-new board, so I was trying to get used to it all day. Jeff and Nick blew down Paradise as I crept along. Snow was very nice. We then hit Crazy Mile to The Falls, which was the run of the day. The snow and the grooming on both was fantastic. Fast and smooth. We then hit Main Street. Upper was great, Lower pretty bumpy, but it's always like that. Since the lower park isn't open yet, we still had to hit Shuttle, which blows. As I got to the corral, I jumped the line up to Jeff and Nick. Some goofus in the back yelled at me for cutting. I turned around, noticing everyone behind us had day tickets on their jackets, said, "This line is for season pass holders. You shouldn't even be in this fucking line!" No response. We got to the top, and Nick decided to got for some park runs. Jeff and I kept lapping Lazy to the Falls. Just awesome. We took one last run down Paradise for a cool-down and bailed around 3:20. Great day. I'll be back up again tomorrow morning.
  21. I got to leave work early because all my appointments rescheduled. I told everyone left at the shop "If a moderately intoxicated guy on XC skis stops by, give him a Mad Elf or two."
