  3. Today was exceptional. Pulled into the lot at 7:20, so I made it there in an hour and 5 minutes. My previous record was 65 minutes. #Winning. Booted up with the most Atomic of skiers, the most grilled steeze of sandwiches, and the toastiest of toasts. The snow was tremendous from the get go. It was like skiing on a pool table. As the day went on, the mountain got a little chewed up, but that's standard. Around 9:30, we ran down Lazy. The Real Kevin Thomas chopped me pretty hard, and I got a ton of snow over my goggles. I cleared it, then hit the final turn. Some monstrosity on skis then barreled into me and put me into the trees. Fun times. I then tried to take a cool down run on Main St, but I ate it right at the bottom. Apparently went Tubby McTubberson sent me a-flyin', my left boot was completely unbuckled. I never saw it under my shockingly high priced pants. My dignity went away years ago anyway. Off to parking lot beers. We were out there for several hours. We met GSS's friends, Matt and Matt. Two solid dudes. MB Mike hung out with his son, which was fun. TP4 and VT Mark showed up, but GSS never introduced them because he's rude. Great day all around. Hope to see you jerks next weekend.

I'm pretty certain we can get a Kickstarter to get you permanently IP banned if you ever say that horseshit again.

Yeah, I tried them for about 20 days. Overpriced for basically a normal thin ski sock. The science to compression in the endurance sports field is changing. Tons of triathletes and long distance runners use compression socks, but now that there are studies that compression of that level really doesn't do anything more than keep you warm.

Pretty sure it was something like this: I get the 6-pack of tube socks from Walmart. Put on first pair. Wrap feet in Cling Wrap. Put on second pair. Dip feet into buckets of roofing tar. Pull on third pair. Insert tootsies into boots that are four sizes too big. Astronaut warmth achieved.

Smartwool makes good socks that last for several seasons. When I switched back to skiing, I tried those CEP compression socks since I could get them discounted through work. The compression thing is nice before and after you have your boots on, but once you have them on, the squeeze from the boots is tighter than the squeeze from the socks, pretty much negating them. Last year, I tried Fits socks, and really liked them. Again, I got them through work, so the price was good. They are merino, so they're warm and don't smell like a Chinatown dumpster when you are done for the day.
  13. I'm not made of money, sir. How about some random partially used gift cards?
  14. Either that or someone made a weekend trip to the Fava Bean Festival.
  15. Hope to. The girls are a little older and things have settled down a lot at home. It'd be good to meet up.
  16. Sounds good. It's always good seeing you guys.

  22. Yeah, I was pre-riding the course for yesterday's race and had a bit of an incident with Mr Tree. My head is totally fine (this is the helmet with the MIPS protective layer), but my neck is a little sore. Nothing some Alleve and beer won't fix.
  23. Wear your helmets, kids.
