Coors Light cases, varies though depending on which beer brands are featured at the bar. Another suggestion bring some meat and it can be cooked over the round fire pit in the "half-way house" off the West slope... and don't forget the alcohol... Mid-week you can also park in the upper lot and avoid the "Elk Wagon" ride. Not possible on weekends and holiday weeks.

If the PASR crew makes the trip on a Wednesday in January or February I should be able to get discount coupons for $25 lift tickets. Has to be a Wednesday, and that was the fee other years.....
-
Oh yes, I'll be there..... and I don't stop and gawk at the scenery. One exception, my knees don't do bumps anymore.... And another, I usually take a trip to NH early January. Mohawk, Tuscarora, Iroquois and Lackawanna have been the last few trails to open the last several years. They concentrate on opening the West (quad) side first.
-
They usually open with 5, but that includes the beginners and the West slope (1/2 way up mtn). They've had most of the mountain open by that week too, all depends on the weather. One thing, when they open a trail it is wall to wall with excellent conditions.

Let me know too and I'll introduce you to the bartenders and buy you a beer....

The trees lining the B & C lifts really block the cold winds and make the slow rides more comfortable. Downside, one can no longer watch the skiers on Susquehanna on the ride up... Mr Moore was the sole importer of VW to the Philadelphia market at one time.
-
They also get some kind of a tax break because they are a registered "Tree Farm".... One Smart Business Man....
-
They pull the trees from their own nursery stock planted years ago nearby the mountain.

I use a tank sprayer and liquid fertilizer and weed killer. Cleanup is easy. Rinse out the tank. In my neck of the woods there weren't any lawn care companies until the last 10 years or so, and I bought the equipment before then.

I have almost 2acres at my home and 1+ at my business property. Takes about 2 hours 45 minutes to mow. I had a zero turn 60" Gravely that almost killed me , and sold it. There is a portion of my yard where it is just too sloped and I lost all ability to steer and would have rolled over a 15' bank to a roadway, if not for a tree stopping me. Thing is I mowed the same area many times carefully with no problem but it only takes one time. Another almost disaster occurred when one of the drive wheel hydraulic pumps failed while on a hill and I lost control. I wasn't going to take a third chance.....
-
Oh yea, Big John Deere 60" deck, front end loader etc. I put a snow blower and chains, weights, and cab. I take it to Elk to keep driveway open in winter.
-
Mowing grass gets "Old" by this time of the year, especially after this rainy summer.... 3+ acres every 5 or so days. Why did I ever fertilize?.....

What did Warren Miller say? Something like "you'll only be a year older if you don't". Go to Summit County, Tahoe area or Utah and you'll be able to cross several off your list in one triip. It's really getting more expensive every year. We're glad we started going West 30 years ago.... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

We've had 16+ inches of rain in Western Schuylkill County since Saturday. Flooding everywhere, bridges out, mudslides, roads buckled from runoff, flash flooding, whole towns evacuated. Terrible......

Our boy scout camp was called "Mamanawatum" (an Algonquin Indian name). We always called it "momma no want us".
