For the rest of the season there won't be any lift lines longer than two minutes. If you go during the week they will be nonexistent. You can get 5 runs in an hour (unless you're a slow poke). On a half day ticket that's 20 runs, and because the lifts are "slow" the trails are uncrowded. Definitely works for the "Elkaholics".

He definitely knows his business. Moved from PA to CO and worked several years there (Vail on mountain) as boot fitter and tech. Moved back to PA to get married. Also in same area (around Elk) is Idlewild Ski Shop, they work extensively with Elks' race teams and ski patrol.

They'll turn the guns on for sure, gotta restore that base until Spring Carnival at least.

Saturday 's usually the busiest day. SP holders usually ski from 8:30 to 10:30. Take a break until noon, then ski until the lunch crowd comes out at about 1:30. Sunday is less busy and by afternoon a lot of the crowd is headed home. You can also run the singles line on the quad or the double on the quad side. another tip is most skiers will head to the quad side first, so around 11:00 am the twin doubles at the lodge can be less crowded. Overall skiing will be less busy than Blue and the Pocono mountains. Montage is the exception and should be a good choice depending on amount of terrain open. All of ELK's trails should be open by MLK weekend.

Tecumsah, groomed, not overly crowded.. the corrals are empty. overcast and 16* no wind.

Update: 1:00pm Conditions improved since Friday. Blew additional snow overnight on many trails. Packed to loose powder on most slopes. Tunk is now moguling. Top speed this AM 56.8 mph. Not bad for a 66 year old. Bar beers are cold....

Very firm Packed Powder. Won't take much traffic for ice to peak out. All the moguls are gone on Tunck Slalom will be closed for racing. The West Indians should all be open, in fact, every trail but Lehigh will probably be open by Sunday. Skiing's great- bar beers are cold...

Most parties are held at the half-way house by the roaring fire pit. I've seen a few over the years in the parking lot on Spring Carnival weekend. Oh and thanks Jeff for that very accurate beer menu update.

There's about ten on tap, I'll send an update tomorrow unless we don't ski because of the rain. ..I'm drinking Yuengling Lager.

Today they varied from perfect on most trails to slightly chunky in spots on three trails. Maximum one minute lift lines. But don't tell anyone......Bar beers were cold.

Rode that one day -5 at base -12 on top with 35mph winds, no blankets...A lot more common sense now.

I agree, their Vermont spiel is laughable. I am a seasoned citizen, so get the "cheap" rate. $695 - 31% = $479.55 Everyone I know buys their pass at early discount rates. Wouldn't you ? Any other PA mountain give the 100 day guarantee? That's nice insurance. High prices and slow lifts keep the riff raff out.....JK

Wrong. They kept SP prices the same as last year. With the 100 day guarantee, I paid $479.55 for this year's pass.
