I have no problem with rescheduling if you want. Usually Elk is colder and snowier than Union Dale. But, this forecast is Real Iffy... Actually the snow today was the best of the week. Groomed buttery surface, with some icy cord down low. Temperature inversion we surmised.. FOGGY.... though, really hard to see. I'd really like you to be able to ski Elk when conditions are more typical of Elks Best. SO it's up to you.... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Condition update... yesterday was true Spring conditions (like when you were here last year). Today everything was frozen up, but Elk groomed all trails a second time and conditions were improving. Right now the sun is shining. Local forecast is some mixed precipitation overnight changing to showers tomorrow morning, warming up above freezing during the day. Friday early (2:00 am) changing over to snow showers lasting until around noon Friday. So overall, it's not looking too bad for Friday..... Of course weathermen are seldom correct. Three racks of baby-backs are rubbed and marinating.. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Nothing fancy.. Miller Light works... and water. If anyone is interested, we could sleep 4 at TLCITW on Thursday night. It would have to be two to a bed though.

I'll get all the food. How about the drinks? Remember, there's a fireplace with cooking "grates" there, so Enjorales doesn't need his grill...

Gotta make sure I have enough Ribs.... Looks like 7 so far if Dad comes again. I'd like to see Phillycore too.. Maybe he can stay out of the trees this year.

Elk update.... Mother Nature didn't cooperate with more openings. It's been above freezing since Thursday morning and not cold enough to blow snow. Chippewa opened Thursday, but Kickapoo Tecumpseh, and Tuscarora are still closed. The snow has held up well. Spring conditions today and sunshine no wind. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Elk has the guns cranking. All of the previously opened trails have been resurfaced and are in excellent shape. Their website says machine groomed / variable conditions. There are very few variable spots (read ice patches) on any trail. I think they will have 3 or 4 more black trails open by Saturday. Kickapoo, Tecumpsah, and Chippewa, are either being groomed out today or tomorrow. Tuscarora was being bombarded all night last night and today. Iroquois and Mohawk should be next leaving only Lackawana to be covered. Lehigh, the natural snow trail, does not have enough snow to open. Elks' grooming is fantastic. The only thing keeping the R&R Ski boys anchored to our bar stools this weekend will be the crowds created by the $30. lift ticket sales..... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

You could also rent skis for a whole season from most ski shops, then you would always have skis with you and not have to visit the rental shop every trip. A good ski shop will rent skis based on your ability and seasonal goals. Also, get a lesson of two this season. The more you ski the better you will become.
