  1. Yes it is.
  2. sno mountain skier, I looked more into it, and yea it's closer, to a road than I thought, but the top to bottom vert is shitty compared to the side there using and the terrain isn't as diverse. skier17, regardless, so your upset because the company didn't staff enough people to make sure every lift was fully staffed every operational hour of the week? when they could make a smart business decision and try to save money.. Yes, dirt bag employees are a staffing issue, but huge? did the place go under? did some tragedy occur because of a lack of employees? are any of my or anyone else's complaints due to a lack of liftys? My mind's on something else and I'm not prepared to defend any negative little point of my response, boo fucking hoo, long haul blows anyway, the only thing it's good for is being able to pound down a couple of beers on the way up. get off on northface lift, take a little trip down the hill and get on iron horse, it's not that big of a deal.
  3. Hey, about long haul... I only worked for a few years, but obviously, and it should be no secret that running an extra lift when it's not necessary on the week days is not cost effective and doesn't bring more customers, it's always been like that for as long as I could remember, besides that, It's probably not maintained as strictly as the other lifts because they open the other half of the mountain first and move towards that lift, plus, it's a really, really long lift, meaning more towers, more components, more chairs, and probably a larger motor meaning more strain on the drive.. There are probably tolerances the lifts have to hold and I'm betting a lot more components or something I have no clue about is out of these tolerances, and it's not worth fixing. If I were sno right now and a manager, I'd try to prove to the investors that this place does turn a decent profit, then start dumping money back into it in a couple years.. If sno want's to be a hit, just be something close, reliable, well groomed, and not completely packed like the rest. An amazing park? shut up and go to boulder, nice fast lifts? go somewhere else, but what good are they when you have a lift line. yea, sno usually has like a 30 second lift line. plus it's somewhere close for like 5+ cities at the base of the mountain... The business is right in front of them and obviously they're on the right track. An 8 pack... Okay. just a rant, I've come to the conclusion that the terrain is pretty much at it's limits, I've looked at topographical maps (google earth) and can't map any feasible runs or lifts. Ohh and when people say "It was built on the wrong side of the mountain, the terrain on the back side of the mountain isn't that great, plus gaining access via roads would be nearly impossible unless they had a road to the top of the mountain and the lodge, and lift drives based out of the top of the mountain. Skier17, you don't know what your talking about. The only staffing issues they really had was scum bag lifty's not showing up for work, The year's I worked they didn't really skimp on scheduling employees and I was a lifty the first and second year sno mountain existed, It's not montage anymore so get over it. long haul is an agonizingly long lift, I'm sure If they opened it, you'd ride it like once or twice and get over it, specially when it's cold out. I'm really excited The mountain is doing well. This is great news to me..
  4. Yea razz, I know first hand... as I'm sure you've already been silenced by management, the truth isn't the right thing to say when they are paying you, park crew is a privilege.. I wasn't gonna say anything but the hand work was absolutely horrendous when I went up all 3 times. I just assumed they had one crew on at the morning or something, It shouldn't have 2' bombed out landings by 6:00pm I liked planet, the guys were pretty cool. But sno mtn probably wasn't ready for them. Id really love to see them to start to plant trees on skiers right of spike, like pine trees, something to block the wind.. they widened the freeken trail and will never need it that wide unless... nope, they'll never need it that wide again...
  5. I like it
  6. Nahh, I just had better shit to do, I'm not fucking attached to the computer like some people. Sorry about the book I wrote nick, guess it's just too much for you to read.
  7. So I've been up to sno twice since i've been home and the $25 pass for any time of the day was really great, I took my girl up yesterday to teach her how to snowboard, went okay. First time I went up with my good friend and ran into the GM in the bar surprisingly he remembers me from the day's I worked there, even had a brief interview by WNEP on how the new flavor of cheese-its tastes (yea really) as far as the conditions go, they were great, had a lot of un touched terrain, fresh snow, we got there around 11:30, rode for about 4 hours, hit the bar for an hour and a half, then rode for another hour. The right side of lightning was freeken incredible i've been around, and I've never hit anything as technical as that, I don't care what elk or camelback have, I can lap that shit all day. It's just too bad it isn't really a trail.. If you hit it up, please don't die. When you get to the top of the mountain, you look down, ya know what you see? a city and not just one city.. to the left, is an airport, when your driving around scranton, dickson city, and a couple other's at night and you look up ya know what you see??? Sno mountain, there are a shit ton of people right there, this is there back yard, my point is, there are thousands of people who have a mountain in which is no more than a 10 min drive away. So why isn't it Huge? I feel this mountain has so much potential it blows my mind it isn't packed every day. Now yea, the upper mountain pretty much sucks as far as challenging terrain goes, but north face is fun, if the lift was faster it could allow more laps which would be even better, As far as new trails, If they wanted to make a huge investment, maybe there could be more trails on the skiers right side of the mountain, I'd love to see some longer more challenging trails. As far as the website, maybe a "Special Deal's" icon right on the home page, right at the top, and under the ticket prices tell us what your special deals are, like under the youth and senior deals, list the college rates, military, group, really big group, 3 day's in a row or whatever the hell they have. people are lazy, a lot of people don't wanna call and ask. The new website is better than the old, but maybe have a little more black, or darker colors, make it look serious and more professional. Ohh and the sno mountain logo looks like it was drawn by a 6 year old using paint... I love the web cam, just wish they had more camera's. but if you look, the bunny hill lift is down, and by down, I mean the chairs are off the lift and the cable is down in the snow. yea..
  8. WOW, its obvious theres pretty much absolutely no interest in Montage mountain (most of the people I know STILL don't know it as sno) on pasr anymore, wondering if its reflecting in there revenue If so... Maybe they should pull out some wackey advertisements or some tangible discounts. Imo, throwing out big discounts will bring in customers, maybe not oblivious customers paying $45 for a fucking 4 hour pass, but if it brings in 10 customers they wouldn't have had, its money right? I want to go riding during the day tomorrow and I value my money, just like you. When I can take one hour out of my life to drive to a mountain I have like 10 options from where I live.. There lifts are slow and suck and there terrain isn't the greatest. Why should I pick montage? yea I called it montage. Sno is gay. I have about 20 family members who are in for the holiday and they said It was disappointing from what I said it would be because I only came in on the 17th so I haven't been able to go yet this year ohh and it would have been 30 if tubing was open. Now I understand It's expensive everywhere, AND I understand that, if I don't like it just go somewhere else and shut my mouth, ANDDDD I know It costs a lot to run a resort. But! I would have gone today with them if I didn't feel like it was too expensive, and ya know what... call me crazy, stupid, retarded... but I have a feeling a lot of other people feel the same way. So could a good business plan be pricing your service so that people didn't feel like they were getting bent over a chairlift and getting fucked in the ass? I think so, If your product isn't up to par and you think charging a lot to make up for your lack of numbers is the answer instead of doing the hard work and trying to pull in new customers then fine, go for it. I hope it's working and i'm wrong, I mean pasr can't be more than .01% of there possible customers right? If anyone agree's with me please speak up, even though it's probably just a lost cause. Could you imagine, I mean really, a $25 4 hour pass, any time of the day, any day of the week? like, if you never went to sno before and said, hey, its tuesday afternoon, I have nothing to do, wait! sno's 4 hour pass during the day is only $25, maybe we should try it! would you go there instead of elk or jack frost/boulder etc... JUST SAY'n =) I'm like that guy who stands up and says... Hey, this is fucked up, I have a good idea! and 4 people in the room yell shut the fuck up and conform to society like everyone else. fuck them, and if your one of them.. Fuck you too It's boring as shit around here, if posting some ignorant topic to give me entertainment is the answer then... here it is =)
  9. Awesome man, i'll be sure to hit it up.
  10. Hey everyone! I'd just like to say i'm freeken pumped to be coming home on the 17th and I'll be hitting up sno as much as I can, I enlisted in the army, been in training since august, I'm training to be a combat medic. It's nice to see some old faces on here, I've been checking up on PASR every once in a while and it looks deserted, like everyone's given up on sno, I hope the company is doing okay.
  11. To go back on the $2 bottles. Like really. If i pay $30' for admission and they don't exactly live up to the other parks when it comes to rides. Getting smashed cheaply and chilling in the lazy river, then sliding down some shit without having to stand in line, then just chilling and drinking some more? Seems like a good day to me. That's what they should advertise lol get drunk n chill out in water. That's where I wanna be!
  12. Sorry it took a while! So heres my review, it was pretty nice. Yes, it was a good day. $30 admission for an all day pass includes all the water stuff and the bumper boats at the bottom of birthdate lift. The zip line is down till July 4th for unknown reasons, not sure if that would be included. Despite the lack of features, they make up for in the lack of crowds. It's chill, no real lines. Ohh and did I mention $2 bottles?? Yes. $2 bottles.. I got pretty slammed and I was happy. Slammed enough to buy 2 boiled cheeseburgers at $10. Same shitty lodge food. My recommendation is to just go 3 miles, grab some wendys or quiznos or even just pack some hogies. The food needs improvement, nothing new. The lazy river was chill, was with my girl, would have Been nice if they had 2 person tubes, but was still chill. The tornado was awesome, hit that a couple times. The mat racer was sweet, if you pull up on the 2nd lip you'll "get some sweet air" (sorry for the gayness) the tube slide was nice too, the enclosed one gets pretty fast. Wave pool.. Water was still pretty cold so I didn't really feel like standing in it but hey, not there fault! Overall, I'm happy, I'll go again soon for sure. I'm just hoping they still have $2 bottles. I wish I could tell them how happy that made me! I literally recommended Sno cove to 15-20 people based solely on $2 bottles. It's the little things like that that make you wanna come back!!!!! Hope that helped, see, I'm not completely against Sno, when they do good I'll give them props for it! I'm on an iPhone, birthday lift? Haha auto correct.."northface lift" there's prob more corrections, I have fat thumbs...
  13. It would be nice if they.. Updated there website. Times, ticket prices? Going up this weekend. I'll let y'all know if it's worth it. I don't think anyone looks at sn
  14. I went to elk tonight, it was amazing...
  15. guessing from what the website says I'm thinking there done... Sno Mountain would like to thank everyone for making the 2009/2010 winter season our best season ever!! We look forward to making the 2010/2011 season even better! Check back for a list of winter improvements for next season and don
  16. I'm hoping they open once more for the weekend... Wow it's been a while, I haven't been up much this year, or on here, I guess I can say I got a life. Last year I'm buying a pass. (Full at least) I've never had problems with lifties or patrol before this year and it just put a bad taste in my mouth. For the record, I've never been asked to put my bar down again ever since that one day, I've been up every wednesday and tried to get up saturdays.
  17. Ohh and i've been to sno like 8 times since this incident and I haven't been told to put my bar down once since then... douche bag lifty's can go fuck them selves
  18. haha thank's riderossi, and yes I always ride with someone when I'm in the woods. I've been up 3 times since that incident and for some reason I've never been told to put my bar down again... (I forgot until like 2 hours in and was like, wait... shit... WTF!)
  19. I don't get it, this is probably the worst year for the park yet and they've had the best snowmaking conditions in in the 4 years they've been open (Think this is the 4th) I think today was the first time it rained in all winter. two years ago they had complete rebuilds of the park every 2 weeks due to the rain. they've had consistent cold nights and no melt downs, there's absolutely no excuse for why sno's park isn't top fucking shape right now. Granted I haven't been up since Wednesday so if the park has changed considerably since then I apologize.
  20. yeah I went up around 3, got to the parking lot saw how incredibly packed it was and went home... I've never seen it that packed. and thats a really good thing! (bet its because the website )
  21. Yea, It was monday night. If there were some kinda release I could sign I would haha, I'm confident in my skills and I always wear a helmet... I didn't start this to complain or bitch about what happened, more as a warning not do it and the thing about the bar because I didn't know it was legit till ski patrol was on my ass lol
  22. I will bud but I'm so used to not putting it down I'm sure i'll wind up forgetting, Its jus we were riding all night with them not saying anything, then around 8:30 all of a sudden its like a rule... kinda should have ran it like that all day, not just start in the middle of the night
  23. woop woop look dude, I'm a machinist, my hands are fucked up, I have skin tougher than you'd ever believe, I can type really well but the touch screens doesn't really like my fucked up fingers. I can't use QWERTY keyboards because my fingers are too big. there even worse than touch screens. ohh and sprint sucks balls. don't listen to Verison commercials there fucking wrong
  24. Yea, I was up monday and wednesday, Mainline was closed both days... I didn't even attempt the only jump on spike having watching from the lift, all I see is kids either landing flat or over shooting it, I don't hit jumps unless i'm riding with people who know how fast to hit it, and none of my friends want to hit it. I don't think thats how sno feels, I think they just don't want to spend money on the park at this point... PROVE ME WRONG yeah, they didn't do ANYTHING for the pipe yet. Don't get me wrong, I love boulder but HATE the drive and the slow ass lifts, I like variety in my mtn, I really think that if sno was serious they could be a contender with boulder, just need to throw away there crappy ryan neptune shit, fire there park staff and get a new company OR hire guys that knew there shit to do the park, (Man that felt good to say, but the truth is its not the staffs fault, I'd put money on them loosing hours and snowmaking for the park) I'm no expert so Idk why i'm pretending to be, but IMO, this is the worst year ever for the park... last year would have been the 2nd worse, my year would have been the best. there first year was even better than this year... but for only being in business for 4 yeaars, gotta give them a break, boulder's been doing this a hell of a lot longer and it's not really fair to compare them on a scale from 1-10 how bipolar are my posts?
  25. I mean there trying to get the glades going in the upper mountain when they have the most amazing glades on the side of lightning and they don't even have to do anything... I was told If I was caught again they would take away my $580 pass, they didn't even clip it or anyhing! and I was respectful to the patroler who caught me, it's when 5 more of them came up givin me more shit repeating everything the guy lectured me about, that's when I started flipping shit, but later on that night the head guy for Monday night talked to me any my friends, he was a really nice guy And I think he saw where I was coming from... Sorry if this post is fucked up, I'm on an iPhone
