  1. look, I'm sure that these owners know a little something about business and if they think that the website is costing them a considerable amount of money in rev then i'm sure they would have a better website, I know they know we complain about it, we've been complaining about it for the past couple years, yeah it blows but they do have decent commercials on the radio. I'd bet 95% of there business is local scranton area people who go because its super super close, not because of the awesome terrain park or the "seriousness" of the resort! fact is that the park is nice but it isn't boulder and I'm sure you all know that. Until they have something fucking amazing what good is a website gonna do besides disappoint? The website looks like shit, but it does its job, it lets you know pass prices, their location, hours of operation, basic conditions, local lodging, etc... Like I said, as long as there is snow and lights that WORK I'm satisfied, i'll be giving them my $580 tomorrow regardless of there shitty website, have any of you guys decided to buy a pass to a different mountain based on there website? have any of you said ahh, I was gonna go to sno this weekend but the website just wasn't cool enough? Just let it go and just enjoy the SNOW, last time I checked this sport wasn't about amazing websites. your wasting your breath, this isn't positive criticism... Edit: trackbiker, you have some good points but like I said, most of there business is local because of close location to the city, believe me, I'd love to see a new website thats updated frequently, but there has to be a reason why they haven't made a good site yet, maybe there hurting for money and are cutting costs any way they can idk...
  2. I've come to realize that the 15-20 people who complain on pasr (includeing me) are not going to put a dent on their business nor force them to make any significant financial investment. It's a ski resort, as long as there is snow and lights I'll be a happy camper...
  3. Best website I've ever seen! Broken links just add to the adventure! I love being suprized so when they don't update the conditions it's like a little suprize every day! But seriously... Just get over it. I have and I'm the biggest prick here. If you want to show them is a big deal show them by not going to the mountain, shorter lift lines for me.
  4. There on facebook too
  5. 686 smarty cargo's amazing pants. great quality super warm. you can probably find last years pretty cheep. just google em' as for price, you get what you pay for...
  6. I'm following them on twitter now too, too bad I never check it. maybe they should get a facebook for updates, Everyone has a facebook... I'll be going up saturday to get mine.
  7. I started skiing last year too, Skied as a kid, played ice hockey for 10 years, which I think helped a lot from the skating. I picked it back up in no time. only regret was buying cheep boots that didn't really fit. used them for a month and upgraded everything. So personally, I would just find some good used stuff after renting for a couple days. I like both, I'll usually go up the mountain, ski for an hour, then switch to board. It really trips the liftys out...
  8. Yup, I was stupid, I was thinking they'd keep that $450 price longer... next paycheck i'll go up there. Anyone hear any more news on improvements regarding the lights? Haha I started this topic from my iPhone yesterday sorry for the bad spelling.
  9. So I'm definatly gonna be buying an unlimited pass again this season, I'm gonna give em' another chance. Has anyone else purchased a pass yet? I read that night and other passdd other than unlimited will hate to go to the ticket window every trip, for me that makes the unlimited pass even better cus I would really have to walk all the way to the lodge. And damn it's boreing around here these days!!
  10. Anyone hear the radio commercial? sounded good... I don't remember all the things they said but I'm just relieved there still able to put money into advertising.
  11. WOW Good one! I believed it until I read down more... I wonder how the people at sno feel about that. I really am scared they'll go bankrupt now... They wont listen about the website, i'm willing to bet one of the owners kids are in charge of the website or something and they're refusing to give it up. either that or someone does not believe in the internet, It'll never catch on... Those were very good points on the website, but i'm sure your wasting your time. Seriously, if a retarded 8 year old kid could make a website, www.snomtn.com would be his work...
  12. So did anyone buy a pass yet? I guess I was wrong on the price; I see thy did Jack it up $579. I'll most likely buy one next month, moneys tight. Now I wished I jumped on that $450! Also, I'm really interested. Did anyone heard anyhinng more about the lights?
  13. so the pass price is going up to $579 after the 8th of september?
  14. just to be clear, there was no boarderX...
  15. "working with a company" (lights)= i'll believe it when I see it* Trees=Good, I saw new trees. Sno cove helping winter operation? only if it doesn't bankrupt the company, I'm pretty sure thats what were worried about* at least you were conservative on the snow making "modifications" good job! Price is great! but september 7th is way too early to end that price. free pass for the zip rider, yeh I got one last year and every time I went up to use it you were closed or the lift wasn't running. it expired in june. 2nd thought, If I remember correctly, you put a date on the $550 last year and kept it the same price. my money's on it being $450 longer, only way I'm buyn' I think one of the most important things you should invest in is the website, I just don't understand why they wont get a new damn website! AND KEEP IT UPDATED!!! seriously, you'll invest millions into a water park but wont hire a guy to make you a decent website? were the park features left outside again this summer? and what are you going to do about all the features out of commission due to the polycarbonate cracking? phh on that note, what are you going to do about park crew managers calling out a season pass holder on pasr and calling them (me) a pussy?, sorry you don't have to answer that but i'm still pissed when I think back on it. You have to understand that we've been let down in the past, like projected opening dates for the water park... and i'll quote something from last year: " LMAO look what I said last year: uhhhh. ya. the boarderX was amazing last year...
  16. honestly, I was planning on buying a pass to boulder, maybe a pass to sno too, maybe just a night pass because I really enjoy NF. I'm really worried about this weird weather for the summer, I have a feeling its gonna be a shitty winter, a summer with out summer could be a winter with out winter, boulder's not that much farther away for me. As for if Sno would even sell me a pass? Thats crossed my mind actually. As for the lights, sno should just give up on there park if they cant even light it up (or keep there features maintained) at least until they're business model improves. thats right, I said it, and fuck you too... hey, well this weekend looks shitty but maybe we could have like a pasr day up there before the summer ends, the bar looks decent, lazy river right there, zip line, it would be nice to support them. JL, you'll buy the passes any way shut up ha ha, I like your connection of sno cove=windows vista, the website blows but... its just a website get over it, its obvious they're hurting up there. I just have this feeling that whoever is calling the shots up there was vetted by the Obama administration... Just stop making promises you cant keep.
  17. I haven't seen or heard anything, but I listen to sirius and I think our local news if full of a bunch of retards so I avoid watching it. hey, there's a bar like 10ft away from the lazy river, it looks like it would be a great place to chill, but it was super depressing just walking around seeing all those bummed out lifeguards, and absolutely no patrons around the water area, I was a lifeguard for a summer at the hideout btw, thats why I feel for em'
  18. Well, I went up today to check it out... there were between 15-20 lifeguards sitting around with no customers what so ever, I can honestly say I've seen no more than 5 possible customers the whole 15 min I was there, and they were up at the batting cages, It appears that the path to the lift that supports the zip line was closed, the wave pool still has no concrete base, I asked the lady at the entrance for when they expected the wave pool and tornado to be open and she said by august... okay maybe august 2010. Heres some pictures, I'll let you be the judge. I don't think these trees will make it through the winter... I really feel bad, they've done a ton of work since march and I hope they get some good business, but they missed the biggest couple holiday weekends of the season, I also feel bad for all those lifeguards who will be getting screwed on hours. plus its expected to rain for the next week and then some...
  19. Anyone go up yet? I got a press release email stating that they were opening on the 18th but they said the wave pool and the tornado weren't open yet, when my family comes in from cali I'll most likely bring them up, should be 50+ people... Sn
  20. I was going to say something stupid but decided not to...
  21. defiantly not montage... that vid was sick considering that it was like 19 years ago. I cant imagine how hard it would have been doing that stuff riding those enormous boards with that wack stance. I'd love to go back in time with my banana and 32 primes and show them what the future looks like, and imagine the look on there faces if they saw you skiers! I'd bet they were totally gay. that vid was like saved by the bell on snowboards.
  22. I say they should try to get stimulus money to install solar panels and wind generators that way they can blow snow whenever its cold enough like during the day. knowing the gov they'll probably receive like 300 million or something insane. Uhh website blows Also build a reservoir at the top of the mountain to hold water and have it pumped down. (Lets not get into another snow making battle, those guys were assholes... and wrong) keep up on the chairs, some were really beat and the plastic covers for your ski's were usually missing resulting in damage to your edges under foot... Train your lifties better... start planting trees on upper mountain, like brain said, i'm not a hippie but its like i'm skiing through the dead woods, its pretty depressing and every trail looks the same. clear out small saplings and branches in the woods for lightning and boomer. there is some amazing glade skiing in there. Try to get planet back because "IN MY OPINION" the park was pathetic compared to previous 2 years. mainline changed features like 3 times. I know you guys like progressive shit but planet's parks were good and would have been better if sno treated them (Planet) more like wanted guests. they absolutely hated sno by the end of the season. so don't hate on planet for a park you didn't like... Also, in my opinion, park crew needed more "adult" supervision and a larger staff. stop lieing about conditions on your website. who ever updates the conditions should actually have to leave the building and look at the trails. You'll see something like "come up to sno and ride 5" of amazing fresh powder we just got" and its actually sleeting and the conditions are terrible. Also things like trail status. at put a date on the last time it was updated. Stop coming on pasr and saying things like this: Dirtwork to parks and boarderX, hmm, what boarderX? and what dirt work for the pipe? what lights did you fix? yeah, you added some lights... Maybe they got the new PB cat but I usually look for it and never see it... They could most likely have it inside (Thats where I'de keep my new cat) and did you guys leave all your features outside during the summer? Umm you know plastic gets brittle that way? ya know ya fucked your selves? great way to treat $80,000+ (Total) park features AND!!! for the record he repeated what I said and I was right, after this happened I heard from someone at sno that the pumps are pretty old and there is room for more. so when's that light tower getting fixed? hopefully some time before next december? ya only got 9 months!!!
  23. I'm sure you all know what I'll bitch about, but since the season's over I figure i'll hold off and let everyone else voice their opinions regarding what would make sno better. Lets keep it productive
  24. Over all I say sno did a good job this season, they get hit really hard when it comes to rain and warm up's not there fault, just the terrain and direct sun for most of the day. Maybe i'll start a thread for improvements for next year so everyone can voice there opinions while we still have skiing on our brains.
  25. I guess I kinda called it. this sucks... To quote there website
