Jay, you should have taken me out there as your photographer. Glad you two are having fun.

Here's a concept... Move the Air Bag over to Central Park. Nobody see's it at it's current location on Lower Paradise. You can't see it from the Liftline at the Quad or on the ride up. Move the Big Air Bag into Central Park, where there's a lot more visibility from the Six-pack, the queue, and the outside deck area by the lodge.

When I'm having an "off" day, it get extreme numbness in the toes and forefoot area. Opening of the top buckles helps relieve this. I'm pretty sure that my heel was secure in the pocked though. That part always feels "right". I'm going to try on them both again...maybe even today after work.

Hey everyone I'm currently skiing on on (2006?) Nordica Speedmachiene 12's in a 27.0. A good stiff boot that has a deep & secureheel pocket, great feedback and edge control. I've always had some minor fit issues with them. Yesterday, they were perfect...hardly and adjusting required. Today, I just couldn't seem to get them to feel right. When I do get them to feel right, I really have no complaints about them. On days where they don't want to play, I find that opening the top buckles while in the lift line helps a lot. About 2 years ago during a rainy day at Killington, I was killing time and spent some time doing a basic boot fitting. Basin put me back in the same boot. They thought it was a good match for my foot shape. Hal at Northern Ski Works thought the Speedmachine 14 was a better choice. The Speedmachine 14 is now the Speedmachine 130. Hal also thought that the Tecnica Dragon 120 would also be a solid choice for me. One thing I noticed, is he was using boots that were 27.5's. Any idea why? Would it really matter if I'm pulling the footbed out anyway? My Speedmachiene 12's must have around 135 days on them now and I'd really like to get something that requires less adjustments during the day. What is the consensus of buying boots online if you already kinda know what fits? Lastly, anyone care to comment on the differences between the two models (foot bed width (last), stiffness, performance)? Thanks

Date(s) Skied: 2/18/2010 Resort or Ski Area: Blue Mountain Conditions: Very hard surface. It got very crowded as the night went on. Trip Report: I got to Blue around 4pm to bright blue sunny skies and no crowds. Conditions were less then stellar however. The snow was very packed down and in some cases glossy. I wouldn't call it ice (or boilerplate) though, because I could easily stick my pole in the snow. If you kept your speed up, you could dig your edges in to it. In fact, it was extremely fast, to such a point that the wind was pulling my helmet's earpads away from my face. The top of the Quad was porcelain-like all the way down to the 6-pack on Tut's and to the Slow Skiing sign on Paradise. The wind was not friendly either. Tut's, and the last straightaway on Paradise were pure wind tunnels. Razor's was solid and rutted up. Dreamweaver and Lazy skied ok later in the night as the crowds scraped off a nice layer or sugar. Paradise was pretty good, but there were 2-3 speed traps set up on there. I got the "slow down" arm wave once. Oh yeah, there's now two kickers on Challenge. They both appear open to the public. Kicker #2 Razor's Nightmare (the bumps are way larger then they appear in this pic) That's it for pics today. I forgot to charge my camera's battery.

No. Lots of heffers. My battery sucks. I actually just put in a request for a new laptop because mine is about shot.

I'm here now. Not a whole lot of power outlets, but this will work out nicely. Thanks.

White killed it last night. Very impressive and entertaining to watch. Women's DH...wow, just wow. Between the crashes and going 1-2, a great race. Curling is on at noon on USA Network.

3"-4" here in Summit. -
I've never been to Plattekill. The lines were crazy because it's a holiday weekend. Only G lift was getting wind holds, the main HSQ was not.

Date(s) Skied: 2/13 - 2/14 Resort or Ski Area: Windham Mountain Conditions: Packed powder, crowded. Trip Report: Great two days at Windham. Lift lines were long, but manageable. Trails were not too crowded if you stayed off Wraparound & Wanderer. Wiseacers was the ROTD both days. Why Not was an absolute blast, but there was one headwall that was complete boilerplate. Saturday was colder (20F), but less windy and sunny. Sunday was around 30F, cloudy and a light flurry was falling all day. Winds were fierce at times, causing some wind holds on G lift. I took my first legit wipeout of the season on Sunday coming off Wedgie. I was hitting the little pow stashes off the sides of the trails when I hit something under the snow. I double ejected, did a front flip and landed on my back in two feet of blown in powder and some shrubbery. I was laughing pretty hard, but everyone kept asking me if I was hurt. Mrs Root skied pretty good. She hit the blues pretty hard and even took a run through the park. She's also starting to ski a little faster. There's lots of bump runs there. I took some pics for everyone since I don't think Windham gets a fair shake sometimes. Windham really expanded their patio area. Could make for a really fun springtime party scene. We stayed at the Bavarian Manor in Purling, NY. Fun place. Lots of German beers (and people too)! Saturday 2/13 Wedgie Mrs Root Crazy Liftline Packed! Sunday 2/14 Mrs Root on Whistler More crazy lines Whistler Chute Why Not The beer menu Bump Stoke Groomer Stoke
