PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES!!! Thanks!

I couldn't of asked for better conditions on my last day. That will hold me totally content until next season. New sticks always rock. Got them real cheap at Basin (~650 mounted).

Date(s) Skied: April 5, 2009 Resort or Ski Area: Stratton, VT Conditions: Great! Packed powder in the AM. Powdery crud mid-morning. Corn in the afternoon. Trip Report: I had a great day at Stratton. Much better then K the day before. I woke up a little late because of too many safety meetings and rum at cokes at Mulligan's, but made it on the hill around 8:45. I cashed in my 10K pass, and the nice lady gave me a smiley face sticker on my pass. Only two lifts running, AE and Ursa. The Gondi was spinning at one point, but they were just using it to move cars around. It felt like home, sitting on a 6-pack again I've got to say, Stratton is a really nice place to ski, and for me, they are doing a lot of things right. Took AE to Ursa. First run was down Black Bear. WOW, I was so surprised on the conditions. Hats off to the Stratton groomers!!! Great packed powder conditions. Next run was down North American, which for me was the run of the day. I think I lapped it about 5 times in a row. Mike's Way was a great run to rip down, but I only hit it 3 times. In total, I did 23 runs, but most of them were top to mid-station, or mid-station to bottom. Maybe only 5-6 runs were from top-bottom. For my last day of the season, I went out feeling and skiing great. Total skier's high. I've got to say, Stratton is a really nice place to ski, and for me, they are doing a lot of things right. I'll definitely be considering spending more time there, and less time at K next season. Much more my style. I hit my season goal of 500K in vert and a new record of 32 days on the snow. Oh yeah...I almost forgot, I sprung for the Jet Fuels. Wow, what a great ski. Totally forgiving and rewarding at the same time. Really inspires confidence as well. I really like the 84 underfoot for stability. Ok, time to enjoy some pics Headed up American Express Headed up Ursa Top Trail Conditions Bromley getting some sun North American Lift Lines Mike's Way Favorite part of Mike's Way Suntanner After the sun came out and the snow turned to corn Hell yeah!

Thanks. Unpack your stuff Sunday was probabily pretty good. If it wasn't for the pre-bmmc safety meeting, I never would have lasted there 20 minutes. When you see the Stratton TR, you'll see why I'm looking forward to sleeping late next weekend.

Date(s) Skied: 4/4/2009 Resort or Ski Area: Killington Conditions: Variable snow, snow/sleet/rain at different times. Winds 25-40+mph. Trip Report: A tough day for Killington. Hard rain on/off the day before. While getting breakfast, it had started snowing. Drove up to Snowshed, cashed in my voucher and skied over to K1. No real lines but the lift was running super slow due to the wind. Skied a few off K1, NRT and Snowdown. Good snow in the top half on the mountain, but very wet on the lower half. I'd say there were 2-3 inches on top that was real nice. After a while I skied down to Skye Ship, only to find the Gondi not running, so onwards to BMMC. Pretty empty. I'm sure the weather didn't help. After I was done skiing, I took a drive over to Bear, but it was even more deserted than before. I got a really close parking spot so I decided to stay. I watched the comp for about 20 mins and then left. Went over to the Long Trail Brewery for a bowl of Chilli and a Blackbeary. Best part of the day. Superstar Rime Rime (while on the NRT) Mousetrap Others BMMC

I'll probabily park over at Snowshed in the AM, because I think I need to cash in my voucher there. Hit up Snowden early, then make my way over to Skye for a while. I plan to wrap up skiing between 12 and 1, and then have a safety meeting on my way over to Bear and watch the comp for a bit. Take my last ride on the new SPEQ and head on out.

Found this out on AZ, and thought I'd share it here.
-
I'll be there either way. I'll probabily ski till noon, then work my way over to Bear for the BMMC for a bit. Plan to be off the hill by 2 at the latest.

I actually have not looked at the weather report. I have one voucher left for Killington, and season is getting short so I'll ski the rain if necessary in the AM, have some blueberries for lunch and then watch BMMC in the afternoon, which I guess is a rain/shine event? Stratton on Sunday. EDIT: Looked at the weather.... http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Killington/6day/top Snow on Saturday after a soaking on Friday.
-
I'll be at Killington on Saturday.

I learned how to ski at Shawnee. Great memories of skiing there with my dad and brother. You gotta go there on a weekday because the lift lines can get pretty painful on a weekend. While small, the place does have character.

double whammy!

man, the interweb is fucked up today...

Someone take some damn pictures.

They closed down Monday-Thursday. Open Friday 4/3 until...? Hunter & Bellayre should have more snow, as they made snow well past when Windham stopped. After last night's rain, who knows.
-
Yeah, I don't know about that. I'd give it around 1300 feet off A-Lift
-
I'm pretty sure Windham's East Peak to the bottom is around 1600. While you can ski that, the East Peak lift (G-lift) doesn't go to the bottom, so it's really tough to lap the full vert. You would have to take C-lift up and then traverse over to G-lift.

Date(s) Skied: 3/29/2009 Resort or Ski Area: Windham Conditions: Variable, temps in the mid 50's, rain on and off. Trip Report: Woke up this morning to some pretty heavy rain here in NJ, but since I had to use the voucher or waste it, I decided to drive up anyway. Raining until just before I got to Kingston, then it turned into a mist. I was getting optimistic. Pulled into the parking lot around 9AM and noticed a lot of green. Maybe a total of 15 cars in the lot, and the guy who pulled in next to me was an employee. Got booted up and cashed in my voucher at group sales. I saw that A, C and D lifts were spinning. As I approached A lift, I saw the closed sign hanging up. Bummer. I went to D lift, asked the lifties for the scoop, and they told me delayed opening as some snow is pushed around up top. Finally at 9:45 the lifts opened up. I got 2nd car up. Not much to say on the conditions. Nothing was groomed and I saw no evidence of any snow moving activity. Snow was pretty hard, all things considered. The most challenging part was not the trail, but navigating a way down. It rained on and off several times, and the sun came out for a little bit also, which was really nice. I didn't even use my goggles today, it felt best just to go au natural. Anyway, I skied 8 runs for a total of 10,300 feet of vertical. I was really glad I got out today. Besides from the conditions, it was great to be outside in the mountains today. The fresh air was fantastic, had a nice sweet earthy smell. I actually turned off my ipod, to take in the sounds of spring, birds chirping and babbling streams were quite soothing. I should have brought some blueberries with with me. There was a great vibe on the mountain today, everyone on the lifts would be cheering on the few people actually crazy enough to ski today. Stopped off at the Bavarian Manor in Purling for a Paulander lager and some homemade potatoes pancakes. Here's some photo's of the day. yes, this trail is open, and I skied it Whistler headwall Top of A lift Various parts of Wraparound Watch out! The landing on the jump is kinda rough Whistler Looks like they've already cleaned up! Bra Tree http://s454.photobucket.com/albums/qq264/R...nt=IMG_0088.jpg G-Lift (wasn't running) What's Next? Here's some pics I took. Had fun skiing with the whole group. There must of been a good dozen AZ/PASR's. It was my last day skiing in PA for the 08/09 season. Moe Ghoul - good to have a few beers with ya Bigdaddyk - you owe me a beer. Camelbeach anyone? View from the lift Nice base Sullivan lift terminal Bra Tree I love driving through the Delaware Water Gap. It's so scenic there, like something out of a Bob Ross painting. Almost surreal. It would be great to go canoeing or rafting down the Delaware this summer.
