  3. What 6 pack???
  4. Roll call for 3/28 at Camelback. I'm in. Where's the meeting spot gonna be & when?
  5. Feelin pretty good...and it's easing the pain of not skiing today and missing gaper day nicely. It really sucks not sking this weekend. It's so nice out up here
  6. What makes you think I hate Blue Mountain? I freaking love Blue Mountain, but I am appalled by the fact that the Ski Patrol thinks they are a militia / police force on the mountain, and chased me all the way down the driveway in fuckin ski boots! Hopefully we'll go back to a bit of the old Blue Mountain next season and not another episode of Red Coat Mountain. It would really suck if Blue had to change their slogan from "Touch the Sky" to "Kiss the Ground Motherfucker!" (yes I've been drinking) Anyway, welcome to the board, I hope you keep posting, we could really use an official industry rep from Blue on here. And I do think you want me there. In case you forgot, indirectly I pay part of your salary.
  7. this made me laugh
  8. PASR day @ Camelback on 3/28/09???
  9. me too
  10. LOL...why not just lap Raceway using the Vista chair...you can really rack up the vert on that chair
  11. +1, but reverse the trails. I'd also suggest Raceway, although steeper then Lazy, not as challenging as Razors, and a great fun run...
  12. Ok, so I left this off the internet, so AS and GSS can have their meeting with Blue, as intended. On Wednesday, March 11th, I went to Blue for some night skiing, and mostly to learn if my pass would still work after getting the lesson in ski resort exodus the previous Sunday. On my way to the snow, I needed to make an adjustment to my left boot. As I was sitting on the bench opposite the mens room, Barbara Green asks me "how the snow was today". To make a really long story short, we talked for about 40 minutes, me giving up some nice vert. She basically explained to me she gets 50-60 emails about people getting hit (or near misses) on Paradise/Burma, and what would I do in her shoes. Reaching back to my pre-EMT days, I used to lifeguard, and we used to run "adult swims" every hour on the hour. for 15-20 minutes, where we would make everyone under the age of 18 exit the water so the adult can get some "play time" depending on crowd density, and there's no real reason why Blue couldn't adopt a similar concept. Perfect example being the Sunday GSS and I got chased off the mountain, where less then 500 people there...all day. We also talked about the brashness of the patrols and she acknowledged that there's some serious room for improvement in that category, and plans are in place to make that happen before the start of next season. We both agreed that the situation could have been handled better, on both sides. That being said, I've made my peace with Blue and I'm 90% sure I'll be renewing my season pass there. However, no matter how wrong I may or may not have been on that fateful Sunday, the Blue Mountain Ski Patrol owes me an apology. (Or based on the GSS/AS meeting, should we re-name the place...the Red Mountain Ski Area, since they seem to want to run/ruin it) Nothing personal guys...just calling it like I see it. If that offends you lurkers, tough. It sucks when a few bad people give everyone a tarnished reputation. Now...on to a much more cheerful topic. Spent some fun time Skiing with GSS, AS, Toast, Nazareth Jay, Johnny Style and a few others. After finishing up a peaceful day in some really slushy snow, I decided to take a spin up to the Summit Lodge to check out the soap box derby I'd been hearing about.. This looked like it would have been a lot of fun to watch and I couldn't believe the high turnout!. Unfortunately I didn't stick around long enough to watch the racing. Next year...PASR/AZ needs to participate. Would be great fun. Enjoy the pictures. Nice job on this event Blue!!! Snow Conditions Panoramic Soapbox Derby Pics - 1st one is the funniest!

Sucks. I won't be there. Someone take pics please
  14. that's great. I can't wait to ski CB once Blue closes!
  15. Yeah, it's got some narrow parts, but it's pretty cool. I had forgotten that MC skis bigger due to the different areas. I'm still undecided on my plans for next season, but I'm looking forward to getting back to Blue on Saturday!
  16. Date(s) Skied: 3/12/2009 Resort or Ski Area: Mountain Creek Conditions: Lunar. Actually a bit of everything. Sugar, hardpack, ice and some really weird ruts. Empty, perhaps a total of 25 cars in the lot. Trip Report: I got out of work later than I though I would, and forgot some of my ski gear at home, so I run home real quick before I picked up Hardline. We hit some traffic on th GSP which also delayed us. Got up to MC, and it was significantly colder then we expected. I looked at the display in my car and it was 38 degrees out on arrival and when we had departed it was a solid 30. We both decided a fleece under a shell would be in order, this turned out to be a good idea. I purchased my evening ticket in the bar...gotta love that. As we were getting ready in the lodge at South Peak, I was zipping up my jacket when the zipper literally disintegrated in my hand. It was pretty funny. Snow conditions were pretty good. We were able to get in 7 runs over on South Peak, and then we took a quick drive over to Vernon Peak for another 5 runs. Hardline was impressed by my ski boot driving skills, I told him I had the Blue Mountain Ski Patrol to thank for that I thought the conditions were better over on South, but I was glad that we took the ride over to Vernon, as it's been a long time since I was over there. We had a fun time and skied until they closed. I pretty much only took pics from the lift, so we could get more runs in. Mountain Creek has some really cool scenery at night. Pics are kinda dark, not much I'm gonna do about that.

  18. So my zipper on my jacket kinda falls off the track, so I took 1 run off, to try to fix it. I sit down on the bench at the top of the six pack and just out of randomness, I ask the other guys hanging around the bench if anyone had a leatherman on them. Stroke of luck, one of the guys did. Then he also offers me a beer and a shot of vodka. Naturally, I accepted. He offered me a Vicoden as well, but I passed on that. So we got to talking, and they guy asks me if I've had any run-ins with the ski patrol. So I start telling them the whole story, as well as put in a plug for PASR.com. So then the guy start telling me how he got yelled at for skiing fast down challenge, so don't feel bad GSS, you're not the only one Skied with Toast, GSS, SnoSkier and Zaldon tonight. Mountain was a ghost town. No speed traps on Paradise and the snow was super fast. I got 22 runs in.
  19. That's awesome. Way to go CB!!!
  20. HA! You still owe me a beer for that one
  21. I always stop by there on my way home from VT. Great shop, you can learn a lot from talking with those guys
  22. I have to drive my wife to Newark airport Sunday morning, but should be up around 10am.
  23. +1
  24. That's the same kinda slimy stalker shit Joel pulled, when he basically forced himself onto the lift with me and GSS for the 2nd time.
  25. I wax every 2-3 times out. With skis, it's easy just look for the wax graying in parts, and then you know it's time to wax. I'll also wax if I know the snow conditions are going to radically change overnight...ie new snow today and cold so use a blue wax, warmer and rainy tomorrow, so I might re-wax with a red. I should really wax every other time out but sometimes I get lazy
