All summer waxes have been removed and re-waxed just waiting to be scraped. HRJF's had some professional work done to fix a core shot. Gotta love drunk skis. Mantra's have all new metal showing. Bacon's just need snow better than wrod.

By leaving the lights on during operations, they may have a more favorable rate per kilowatt hour when they are at peak demand. Snowmaking requires massive amounts of energy. Ask them on faceplace.

Yes. They stopped at least a year ago. As it would turn out spending $1000 an install to bring fiber to the home doesn't actually result in the consumer buying enough product to consume all that bandwidth. I'd suspect they eventually lease out a good portion of the unused fibers for other opportunities. A typical cable system is theoretically around 3.5 Gbps if it were purely data (which it is, but isn't). The average person does not consume that much data yet. As they do, both cable companies and Fios are in a good position to adapt, Fios with a higher overall throughput. Don't underestimate the cable companies however. They are aware of this. Also, look to see more and more wireless infrastructure from cable companies.

Good on Blue to take a risk and go for it. The weather forecast is often very wrong. I'm sure they really want to avoid a repeat of last year. It's fun to watch the guns in action on the webcams.

RCN has some great engineering practices, and some really counter-productive ones. They build really nice Headends, and they run a lot of fiber between their Headends. It's their OTN's and outside plant that sucks. Both are very poorly maintained. They're not quick to innovate new technology and tend to go with more cost effective solutions. Rumor is that management disrespects the employees and moral really sucks. Blue Ridge is a pretty good company I hear.

Verizon stopped expanding Fios everywhere. Too expensive to build.
