PROS
1. easy access to interstate
2. small crowds/liftlines
3. improved lodge (cafateria,tables,carpeting, bar)(last year)
3. bar deck with outdoor speakers
4. new rental equiptment
5. magic carpet on baby slope and tube area(last year)
6. new snow guns(last year)
7. five new light bulbs (LOL)
8. three or four new trails (we'll have to take their word on it...as no one has skied them yet)
9. beer prices (16 oz frosted glass...$2 !!)
10. boarder jumps...new rails for last two years
11. diverse terrain
CONS....
1. lighting...yes they are replacing orange lights when they burn out..but it will be years before they are all replaced at this rate)
2. ugly tent on patio (with two at most skate boarders playing in the pipe...get it out of there in the winter!)
3. website...please...please...please get a different webmaster....please!
4. trail map....was this made by the same person that does their website?
5. ugly tent (that's not used) for a ski-check...the place looks like a circus with all the tents!
6. lack of "family specials" on lift tickets...or deals of any kind on tickets
7. advertising agency....has anyone seen a bus trip from out of the area yet this year??
I think the pros easily outweigh the cons. And with new owners (and the money they bring with them!) improvements will continue to be made. I think all of our problems are we're too impatient. We've all seen the drawings and plans for the future, but we want them all done yesterday. Remember, this is a five year plan. I believe the contract when they bought the mountain stipulated that $10 MILLION was to be spent improving the mountain over the next five years. Now ask yourselves...if this much improvement has been made in the last two years....can you imagine what the next three years will bring?
soooo....enjoy "our" little private mountain while we can...it won't stay this "private" for long!
