not sure yet, i might come up for it. -
the big park and medium park are both really good. the small park is, well... small. but still fun to just play around with for warm ups. we will be riding the big park/pipe till there is absolutely no snow left on it this year. we are thinking the end of april is not an unsafe bet.
-
thanks. ill post more once we get some sunny warm weather.

big frontsides are fun! lean air

wax is your friend. higher quality sintered bases absord wax like a sponge. i am amazed at how much wax the rome sinterspeed bases ( upper end 2008 boards have this base) can absorb.

not taking sides, but i go through 1-3 boards a season. my seasons being about 60-70 days most years. boards break, bottom line. im already on my 3rd this year and have a good bit of riding to do yet.
-
ive been riding 14 years. ive tried it all when it comes to stances. for my height, 23.5 has been the best and most used stance for me. a lot of guys my height ( good riders, not just some weekend wariors) ride a lot closer, as in 21.5-23". really wide stances were a fad back in the early-mid 90's and faded out when everyone was blowing out thier knees. now the fad is back and i give it a year or two until all the new kids coming up realize that its not needed. as for the ollie and pressing issues, it has a lot to do with flex patterns. most boards are not designed to be ridden that wide ( just because you can set it that wide, dose not mean its the most practical for the application).
-
im 5'11" and ride at 23.5" on a 154. and that is even a little on the wide side.
-
a couple shots of the big park.

the rome artifact is just as soft as the www. they just have a different flex pattern. the www seems real flimsy in the center as where the artifact is a little stiffer in the center and has very soft tips. the torsional flex on both boards are pretty soft. you dont need a 26" stance. if you are 5'6" ish, there is absolutely no reason to be over a 23" stance. no one thinks you are cool for doing it, and your knees will thank you. its not comfortable, it doesnt help you on rails, its actually harder to flex a board when you are that wide and it just plain out looks stupid.

when was the last time you were at 7springs? last year was our best year for the parks, and this year blows last year clear out of the water.
-
the pics that i put up are of our small park and our medium park. i have not shown any pics of the big park ( except the big pipe.) believe me, our big park is REALLY good. id put it up against anything on the east coast right now. oh just a friendly reminder, park passes are required for "the spot" park and pipe ( our biggest park/pipe) our other two parks are open to everyone, no pass needed.

crowds on the weekends suck just like most mountains. mid week is real nice. ill post up pics of our big park as soon as i can. pick a line: A. 20ft flat rail, into 30ft X box, into double jump line, into 8' tall wall ride. b. 50' S box into (see above line) c. either of the first two rails, into 40 rainbow, into 30' urban down rail, into wall ride. d. either of the first two rails, into the X box, into the super pipe.
-
heres some shots of our medium park/pipe and small park as well.
-
pics of "the spot" terrain park coming soon. 35' table top into 45' step down jump is the best double line we have ever had at 7springs. and honestly the best ive ever hit east of the rockies. really long steep landings make for fun times!
-
ahhh opening day of the pipe!!! drop dead sexy! another view
-
you can always road trip it out for a day or two once all the mountains out your way are closed. i guarantee we are riding into april, and there is talk of keeping just the park open after the rest of the mountain is closed. that would mean riding into the end of april or even begining of may!!!!

just giving a heads up for anyone that might want to check it out. the new pipe is by far the biggest and best pipe ever build in the state of PA. its offical mesurements are 18'X40'X440'. its on a fairly steep pitch (id compare it to copper mountains pipe in steepness). definately steeper than the freeway pipe at breck. anyways, the trannys are cut to perfection and its going to be one sick spring season! the park is getting its final touches today 35' table top 40' step down jump 40' rainbow box 55' S box 30' tripple barrel rail 12'x10' wall ride on top of a quarter pipe. 30' flat rail. the place is looking absolutely sick! with the ammount of base on the hill, we should be riding the pipe/park till at mid april or more!
-
for anyone that wants to ride pipe, make your way to 7springs. our small pipe (12-13 ft, built and zaugg cut by planet snow design) is open and is being cut about 2-3 times per week. it is 300 ft long so you get about 5 solid hits. our big pipe ( 18 feet, zaugg cut) is in the works and should be opening pretty soon. they are shooting for 450 feet long and with the amount of snow they have been blowing for it, im not doubting it will be. hope some of you can make the trip. "The Spot" terrain park and pipe should be really good within two weeks time.

patchwork is a really great video. it just makes you want to go out and ride and have fun. most vids in the past few years have become too serious and this vid really puts the fun back into the mix.

better check out 7springs. best pipe by far in PA last year, and in the top 5 ( maybe even top 3) for the whole east coast. click click
