    Gernade Goggles..

yeah, they look ok, but i thought they felt very cheap when i tried them on. but hey, if you're happy with them, then thats what really matters.
  2. the 390's are really nice this year. i guess ill just sell or give them to a friend since i alreay have them.
  3. click here theres the pics and what not from last weekend. im on the right in pic 11.
  4. its snowing in pittsburgh right now.
  5. no big deal. the new owners of 7springs are putting a lot of money into the parks this season again. planet snow is now fully in charge of taking care of things so it should be a very good year.
  6. there was a ROME "I (heart) Box" jam yesterday in conjunction with PITCREW in frederick md. it was free for anyone ( snowboards only) who wanted to ride/compete. link 1st place was a new artifact, your choice of size 2nd place was 390's in your choice of size/color 3rd place was a rome jacket. lots of other stuff was also thrown out for the product toss. it was a real good time with great weather and a pretty good turnout of riders.
  7. if DH is getting rome boards from a rep, the prices should look very similar to this. agent 280 anthem 288 artifact 210 design 330 solution 230 oakley, the arsenal is just last years 390 with different graphics. you can find closeouts online or on ebay of the 05 390 for really cheap. the new 390's are dope. they are lighter and have a softer feel. way better for park. but i still like last years 390 or the targa ( with 390 toe straps) for riding pipe, or free riding.
  8. the nightlife in south lake is 95% casinos.

    Any Advice

get a skateboard and go ride miniramp and little stuff on the streets. and dude, you are like 20. that is by no means too old to go to camp.
  10. id love to see them open it again under 7springs and offer season passes that are good at both places for a reasonable price. laurel has a lot of potential.
  11. half the guys i ride with are over 30, some pushing 40 and most all of them rip like they are in thier mid 20's. i hope i can still ride park when im 40.
  12. wish i would have know about it a few day ago.
  13. yeah, weather is going to be hit or miss. they will still have pleanty of base, but at that time it might start getting heavy. there is for sure the chance for cold weather and fresh powder, but there is also the chance for 60 degrees and sunshine. just go to whatever resorts you can. pretty much all of them have easy trails and harder areas. no matter where you go its going to be so much better than riding in PA so just go and enjoy it.
  14. for what its worth, 7springs closed last year with the pipe still built and rideable. granted they stopped cutting it and it was down to about 9-10ft through most of it, but it was still pleanty rideable if you wanted to hike down to it. ill be sure to let people know if that happens again this season.
  15. last year was similar to this year so far for 7springs at least. we had a horrid jan. followed by a not so great feb ( the first half at least). then late feb and march we got lots of cold weather with one real nice storm and a couple little snowfalls. then it just stayed cold through most of march allowing for some late season snowmaking. we were open fully through the first weekend of april, then they only stayed open for daylight the following week and closed after the second weekend. april 9th or 10 was closing day i believe. im just hoping we get the same type of late season weather again. oh and there was still pleanty of snow at springs. they could have easily stayed open another full week with over 20 trails ( including both parks). its just that once april is here, people stop buying lift tickets. season pass holders are there but there just isnt enough cash flow for them to justify staying open.
  16. thats a pretty good deal for that board. the agent is such a fun board.

    Wisp,MD

if you ride park, 7springs is by far the best in the area this year. we have had a good park with a nice rail line that has a couple options. 4 nice table tops and a pretty nice pipe since the second week of december. not to mention other various rails not in the main jib line. and also a beginer jib park with 8 various rails and boxes. we havent had much snow as of late, but the park crew has done wonders for what they are working with. most other resorts around this area have no park open at all or what they do have is a joke. for just riding around, yeah i cant say much as the conditions have been less than stellar.

    Wisp,MD

i ride seven springs mostly, but im sure ill try to make it down to wisp at some point this season.
  19. stomping my first corked 5 was an awsome feeling. same with the first time i got the balls to throw a rodeo in the pipe. hopefully i can post back up next week and change the first one to stomping my first corked 9.
  20. they do the same thing at 7springs all the time. there will be about 15 or so fairly good riders hiking the pipe and all of a sudden the tiny tots "learn to ski school" will show up and tell 20 5-7 year old kids to go through the pipe. its absurd and i cant imagine who thinks its a good idea. these kids can barely go down a hill and just pizza wedge through ( most of the time a couple fall and the instructors have to go help them up). i know everyone has to start somewhere, but come on. if you cant ride down a hill with confidence and control, you have no business trying to ride a 15' pipe.
  21. all you guys that hate poweder are the best. just less people to come and track it out. but seriously, i know you guys love hard pack for racing but dont tell you you cant enjoy doing some laid back powder cruising days here on the east coast. its not like we get many of them to really get sick of it.
  22. agreed, i wanted to smack this idiot(snowboarder) today at the hill. there was just one baby rail and a table in the little park and I kept hearing him going on how "i swear to god im so sick of seeing people going 270 onto this thing" it was more his tone of voice that got to me and i just said "im sick of people taking snowboarding so serious and not having any fun" i dont think he understood me or really even knew i was talking to him. its all about having fun, thats why we all do this. right?
  23. since this is posted in park and pipe, im guessing you are saying that skiing is better than snowboarding for the forementioned? first off, who gives a Fu#K about your opinion? second, most people who have ANY skill can recognize others for talent. i only snowboard but have no problem riding halfpipe or park with people on skiis. everyone is there to have a good time. the only people that bother me are annoying kids in the park who think they are so good and just constantly brag about how good they are and bug you. [edit] man screw arguing, seven springs is open and im going riding!
  24. whats the deal with car rentals out in CA? here in PA most places want you to be 25 and all of us are 23.
  25. do you know of any easy ways to get from south lake to either alpine or squaw? we wont have a car while out there so getting around is going to be a bit of a pain. i know that there are some shuttle services from south lake to sierra and kirkwood, but im not sure about to the north shore. i did see there was some type of ferry boat that goes from south shore to north shore, but i dont know if that seemed like a good plan of attack.
