  1. thanks for the reports.... im not from PA but you PASR guys are the best spot for me to get my JH stoke on before my annual Jan JH trip each year.....maybe its a coincidence, but for the past three years there's always been someone on here out in jh the week before i go. I show up in jh this saturday for 4 nites, so I hope it keeps snowing. PS - im in CT but have family members from bethlehem (hellertown, actually) who finally just left my house today from their holiday visit, so i guess ive got a round-about connection to many here on PASR given ive been putting up with them for the past week. LOL
  2. Guys - just found this board, and thanks for getting me stoked for my trip out to JH tomorrow. I arrive into JAC around noon, so hope to make first turns by 2:00!!! BTW, Hope you left some pow for me....... And for the record (commenting on early posts and some other JH threads on the board), JH is friggin awesome even without pow like the past wk. I've been flying in to ski there almost every year since i got out of school in 1990, even tho its a be-atch to get to for me compared to other spots i also try to hit every few years ('bird, Taos, Vail). And even without fresh, its still an amazing mountain. Even for a (relatively) old guy like me........i was there in late march when the snow sukked, and i still found some good sh~t to ski. I'm not hiking much these days or skiing the runs with mandatories (or usually even optionals) anymore, but there are VERY few places in the states i've found that push you to ski to the limits of your ability like JH (maybe Squaw, 'bird come close?). Period. And dont forget, this year and last, JH doesnt even have its best asset running (the Tram). Those of you that are skiing it this year, think about having 4k vert in one 10 min ride on days like they've had in the past week........I swear even back when i was in my 20's, you'd get to the top station, unload, and curse that it only took 10 min and you didnt have longer to "rest" your legs (as much as u can standing up) on the ride up. There is almost no feeling in the ski world (in US anyway) of that first Tram ride up in the morning when you look down to see if Corbetts is blown in, and when it is, dreading to hear your buddy (who happens to live in Colo and ski 40 days a year while you sit on your arse in front of a computer somewhere in suburban [fill in large east coast city here] say "dude, its filled in, its now or never fat boy" Anyway, I'm there in JH on "business" (its hard to say that with a striaght face, but its true) so beers are on me (or actually on my corporate amex) at the Moose apres if any of your guys are still around sat eve. just give me a heads up on here and i will try to stop over. Later guys, 23 hours to wheels up, headed to the hole. thanks again for getting me psyched txhedg
