  1. Doh! C ya up there, unless it's pouring in the AM.
  2. Any heads up regarding rain in the A-town area and points north tonite is duly appreciated. Right now it looks like there's a window between tonite and tomorrow afternoon.
  3. Looks like a Tuesday AM sesh is back in play. At this rate I might have to adopt Blue as my official home mountain.
  4. yeah, they turned nicely, did some carving, GSing, and handled some speed pretty well
  5. Good to see a lotta peeps getting out on the boards early. Pre season adds a month to the season.
  6. PASR CullinaryCorner Kaffee Klatsch: BMDI had good sausage, a teeny salty, but the cute waitron staff prevented me from sending it back (j/k, rumor has it they're all pregnant, but I couldn't tell) so the food there must make gals fertile. $5 bfast is way cheaper than an infertility clinic.
  7. Had a blast skiin with everyone, 3 more runs woulda made it better, and only the old man was stoked to hike Tut's or poach a closed run. Fresh sausage won out. Had the Coombas on, and was really happy with their performance on the conditions out there, which were 100% better than Thursday. Props to Blue. Now open the 6 pack by Thursday. I dare them....
  8. Nice, hope you guys get some decent snowfall tonite.
  9. I don't need em til the end of the month since we can't use em before Jan. I can hit Blue on a Mon, Tues or Thurs if you wanna meet up, otherwise put mine and Fred's in the mail. Thanks again!
  10. If I wake up and they got 5+ inches of fresh pow Sun. AM, I'd go. Otherwise, I'm headin back up Tues. AM.
  11. Got on the lift by 8:50AM and did a lot of laps down Main Street and Midway on encrusted cord with a low dose of sugar. Met Atomic Jeff around 1:30 in the lodge as he was comin and we were getting ready to head out. Called him Andy, because he reminded me af an Andy I know. Very cute B/T in the lounge, had #9 and a BBQ pork sammy, on the road by 2:30. I'll let Steeze fill in all the technical and meteorological details. No pix because Treo shots suck, and I might as well just post a pic from last year at Blue, you wouldn't know the dif, lol.
  12. Well, were goin, Machetes are tuned and in the car. Ski gear is still sittin out from yesterday.
  13. What's it doing up there? Rainin steady in Philthy. Tell me it's at least sleeting up in the A town area.
  14. It's 9:15PM and pouring buckets in Philly.
  15. Coombas were great in the fluff, and actually handled pretty well on the harder surfaces. I didn't try to break any speed records on them and they held a decent carving edge. My guess is they'll do great in deeper snow up to a foot, but not sure how well they'll perform in much deeper pow. Since that is a rare occurrence, I think they'll get plenty of use.
  16. Had a fun time, got up to the Mountain Sports Inn around 5PM on Wednesday, and had dinner at the Lookout. Up early Thursday AM and on the gondy by 9:10. Skied a few runs down GN top to bottom to knock the summer rust off and alternated top to bottom runs with runs down Rime/Reason and East Fall, then back up on the GNT. Good manmade coverage, skied until 2 and hit the lodge for some Long Trails. Had dinner at Jax (good food, good vibe) and shot pool with some youngsters, lites out by 11. Friday: Back on the gondy by 9:15 and did a repeat of Thursday, with runs on the Mousetrap and Highline, both in varying degrees of bumps. Kept a little further skier's right on Mousetrap since were not big bump skiers and it was a good opportunity to play on them in the softer snow. Did a few runs off the Snowdon lift that opened up and called it a day around 2. Had dinner at Garlic, and encountered a car problem that almost resulted in a tow to the Honda dealership in Rutland. Fortunately, I was able to figure out a temporary solution, ROCKING THE PILOT BACK AND FORTH WHILE TURNING THE IGNITION, and we avoided some major headache. Back on the mountain by 8:40 on Saturday, Rinse and repeat Thurs/Fri, with the addition of the Superstar lift opening just before lunch. Cruised on the Coombas since Skylark had some relatively untracked areas to play in. Saturday was by far the coldest of the 3 days and there was some light flurries overnite for extra stoke. We called it a day by 1PM, the crowds were getting thicker, and a Kmart patroller almost waffled me showing off skiing backwards while I was waiting for Fred at the first turn on top of GN after getting off the gondy. No pix to display, too lazy to bring a camera. Kmart is a good preseason destination, but we concluded that if there was a Jersey shore equivalent of the Kmart vibe, it would be something like Wildwood or Seaside, lol. Overall, good manmade coverage with a little natural on top friday nite.
  17. Probabilities weighed heavily in favor for a good snow season this year after quite a few suckazz years in a row. Low gas, big snow, unemployed........STOKE!
  18. We're headin up to Kmart Wed. for 3 days. Got a decent deal for 2 adults, 3 nites, 1 premium room w/2 dbl beds, bfast, and a 3 day ski pass for 543 or 271/pp. At least 8 trails opening with top to bottom. Stoke.
  19. Ultra weak show. Nice folks, not sure if all that whistleblowing and ticketing is good PR for the mountain, though. Too Barney Fife.
  20. Watching Insane Cinema: Stand & Deliver on FUELtv.
  21. Definites: Banff/Lake Louise, Sunshine Village, Norquay, Powder Mtn/Snowbasin, Sugarloaf/Saddleback, Whiteface several times, Kmart. Maybes: Stowe, Catskills
  22. What time tonite? I just checked the guide and it isn't listed, Speeders and Smoking guns is on all nite.
  23. You don't need cable or sat for USports, you can pick it up over the air on (digital) CH 10-3, NBC. I watched some 07-08 FIS Weltcup outta Lake Louise earlier this week.
