  5. Final TR, Thurs: Skied til about 2:30PM, Summit quad opened around 12, wind died down and clouds were moving in. Slides were closed, and I did about 6 runs down Paron's, Skyward and Cloudspin to the Summit quad. Bottom half of the mountain was really wet, lotsa little streams and major puddling by the lifts. They had the lifties carving channels to drain the water. Conditions softened up, and the mashies were great. I headed to the bottom, cracked open a Joker Mad Energy drink ($1 at dollar store ) and a Pilsner Urquell that I buried in the snowbank. Cleared out my locker (free ) and packed up the car. Dad and I decided to head back yesterday cuz they were calling for rain Friday and Sat. We cleared out our plush motel room , and got back to Philly around 1AM. Here are a few random shots I took.

  11. Here's a few ideas, some cheesy fake palm trees off to the side for glade skiing. Night skiing flooding the place with blacklights and wearing glow in the dark gear. With a spinning mirror ball?
  12. It'll be fun to pull into midtown Manhattan in mid August with skis on the rack....... and 20$ does sound cheap, maybe that's a teaser rate to see how big the draw will be.
  13. After watching that video it looks a lot cooler than I thought. All I need now is a lift that takes me from the bottom of my road back to the house.
  14. Nice looking snow conditions, thanks for more pics
  15. I think you'd get as much out of inline skates as you would with those and do you really want to wear ski boots in August when its 90 degrees and humid?
  16. THe only Pole that interests me is tucked in my shorts. Otherwise, I heard it takes 3 of them to screw in a lightbulb. Sorry, couldn't resist. And I never skied Sno yet, but I'll check it out next season.......... If it's half as good as Ski says, I may never ski another mountain.........
  17. It's spotty, there's a small front moving in from the lakes with moisture for Monday, some clearing mid week and a front from the pacifioc NW moving thru by week's end. Coulda been stoked if the temps were lower, but weather is subject to change and I've been Johnny on the spot for good ski weather this season.
  18. Just called the mountain 3" + and still snowing on upper half of mountain.
  19. It's great to surf around and find all kinds of pics and blogs detailing some obscure places around the world that people ski/board. I even found a piece about development ideas for N. Korea, Hyundai has some involvement with that.
  20. Best case scenario is early rain, then clearing by noon, check radar in the morning.
  21. Bring rain gear, mother nature is being a relentless bitch to the bitter end.
  22. Slides 2,3,4 opened 3/27. read a few reviews on SKIadk MB. Weather forecast for next week looks wet, I'm glad I went the low budget route.
  23. Shredding mongolian style http://www.skidxb.com/English/videos_eng.htm?mid=1&sid=5 THis site has links to the Urals, Caucasus and northern russia, sounds pretty spartan http://russia-ic.com/travel/resorts/195/
  24. Uzbekistan, I wonder how they say "stoke" in Uzbek http://www.orexca.com/ski_tours_chimgan.shtml First song for first run here would have to be "Kashmir" http://www.himalayanpowderdreams.com/ Another 'stan: http://www.kolarsky.com/family/shymbulak05/gallery.html And our petrodollars hard at work for something worthy http://www.skidxb.com/English/videos_eng.htm?mid=1&sid=5
