Looks like VT. Sweet that you got some serious spring powder days in. PASR season has been great on timing trips for the most part.

Does the PA skison have legs?

Here it is folks, this will be our final weekend of operations for the 2017-2018 winter season at Stowe and we have a winter storm heading our way that will bring a Mansfield Medley of precipitation types. Regardless of the weather, make sure to join your friends & family on the slopes this weekend to close out another awesome season of skiing & riding here at Stowe! A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by our excellent local forecasters at the National Weather Service for this upcoming storm system and we are expecting a cold front to move through early tomorrow morning after some overnight rain showers. That push of cold air will cause rain showers to change to a mix of freezing rain, sleet & snow by opening bell tomorrow. Tomorrow we expect light sleet or snow showers, becoming steadier later in the day, and we could see an inch or two of accumulation throughout the day. Additional accumulations of sleet or snow are likely Saturday night, so keep your fingers crossed for one more Mansfield surprise this season. Make sure to dress for much colder temperatures tomorrow, as temperatures will be falling throughout the day. Afternoon readings are expected to range from the upper 20s at the base, to the lower 20s in the higher elevations. Summit level winds are forecast to be out of the north at 10-20mph. Tonight our grooming plans to lay down fresh corduroy on 29 trails, including the steep favorites of Liftline & Nosedive. Stowe Parks also plans to give the 117th Street and Tyro terrain parks a corduroy refresh overnight and they have a combined total of 20+ freestyle features. Conditions tomorrow will be highly dependent on exactly what precipitation falls from the sky, though the sliding should improve throughout the day with any sleet & snow accumulations.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM SATURDAY TO 8 PM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 5 inches, with localized amounts up to 7 inches possible. Ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch possible. * WHERE...Far northern New York and far northern Vermont. * WHEN...From 5 AM Saturday to 8 PM EDT Sunday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The expected snow and ice will result in difficult travel conditions, and reduced visibilities at times. The greatest travel impacts and accumulation of snow and sleet on roadways is expected during the nighttime hours. Heading up now for the weekend. Smuggs is closing this weekend.

Kudos for expanding the palate beyond Mickey dee's and Sheetz's. Pho is one of my faves.

I woke up with a fucked up back Thursday, full on sciatica shooting down both legs. getting better but no skiing for me this weekend.

Ok, I'm at least on the fence for another visit to Blue. I don't want to wreck my 100% powder days at Blue.

A strengthening clipper system will bring snow back to much of Vermont Friday. Clouds will arrive in the pre-dawn hours Friday and the snow comes soon after with temperatures predominantly in the 20's. The snow should accumulate 3-5 inches across the high country by the middle of the afternoon, diminish for a time and then resume as occasional snow showers Friday night. Temperatures Friday are likely to reach the freezing mark, allowing the snow to be on the wetter side in the valleys though its likely to remain powdery closer to the summits.

3 shots at some snow at Smuggs in the next 10 days. Best one comes in Friday with a chance of 5 or more inches.

I mounted Lords' on the Coombas in February for a tighter tree ski. They were collecting dust for 8 years. Skiing anything under 180 is almost unsettling.

90% chance of rain Tues and Wed. Wednesday high over 60..... Today was a good way to start and end my "season" at Blue. Good to see some of the regulars, albeit briefly. I managed to ski a coupla runs with Mbike. He heard me screaming obscenities at and punching the far left 6pack gate because it wouldn't respond to the lift pass. I didn't even recognize him until we got on the lift. Turns out it may have been inoperable. Thanks for the No worky non-signage , Blue. Sweet untracked runs while it was still puking a bit rules out an encore for the weekend. I saw what lurked under the fresh snow. Blue was purdy this AM; fresh snow is like crater filler for slope acne. Special thanks to Toast for the pass hookup.

It's the Passover miracle. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 1 PM EDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected. Isolated amounts of 6 inches possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, northern and northwest New Jersey and east central, northeast and southeast Pennsylvania. * WHEN...A brief wintry mix in some areas develops and quickly changes to snow between about Midnight and 3 AM Monday, then snow continues moderate to potentially heavy at times during the morning before tapering off around midday. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour may occur at times between about 4 AM and 9 AM Monday.

I think I might come up for a 2 hour AM sesh. I have to be back here by noon for a dentist appointment. Gonna be deeeeeeeeeep!

That little girl is going to need therapy or some kinda counseling after witnessing that spectacle up close. I think she's crying.

I'll get a day at Blue and hopefully 2 more lift served at Smuggs. Then it all depends on the remaining snowpack. I should be able to hike at least 7 more days before the end of may.

It's open ended. Lately, a month or more in VT, then back in PA for a few weeks. Depends on what's going on. I'm planning on going back on the 13th for at least a coupla weeks to ski and start rehabbing the kitchen. Mostly moving stuff out of the cabinets, taking some more measurements, maybe start taking out the old cabinets, doing some electrical work and figuring out the plumbing for the new stuff. I plan to spend most of the spring and summer up there. Congrats on the move to VT!

Well, there's a 4 pk of Heady's to look forward to. You going Saturday, 4/7?
-
I have one left if anyone ventures up that way before closing.

Are you moving up there? MAGIC is a good mountain vibe wise and has struggled in the shadows of Stratton and Okemo. They have better advanced terrain than either. They finally got a decent infusion of cash last year with new ownership and focused on fixing/restoring/expanding the snowmaking system, I think they picked up some new snow fans. The black lift is finally running. A lot of folks are diehards there like any other hill, and prolly had one of the best seasons there this year. The co-op collapsed, there was some bad blood with Sullivan, but I think there wasn't any evidence of misappropriation of the money. I could be completely wrong about that. TGR and AZ have relatively active threads for Magic, and the douchebag:good natured ratio is very low.

Saturday should be good for a corn day. I got a BOGO for Smuggs if you guys want to come over to the dark side.

Me, too, Peaches.
