  1. Strong finish if they do that. Smuggs will shut down sometime in April, hopefully open weekends until EOM. I plan to get back up here before they shut down the lifts and hike for corn thereafter.
  2. 4/7 or 4/8? Could be deep again by then.
  3. What's the current rumor? Into April? Weekends only? I'm coming back for a few weeks and might bring gear if they are still spinning the lifts. Any buddy passes left for a 4 pk of VT goodness?
  4. Good timing!!
  5. .Increased Risk for Avalanches in the North Country... Recent heavy snowfall combined with previous warm ups have created the potential for avalanches in the exposed back country of the Green Mountains in Vermont and the Adirondacks in northern New York. Several small avalanches have already been reported. Outdoor enthusiasts heading into the back country through the upcoming weekend need to be aware of the avalanche danger and the associated risks involved. Steep, open slopes will have the highest potential avalanche risk. If you go into the back country of the Adirondacks Mountains or Green Mountains to snow shoe, ski, or ice climb, be aware of the avalanche danger and take the appropriate precautions. WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches, with localized amounts up to 8 inches possible along the Western Slopes and northern Adirondack Mountains. * WHERE...Vermont side of the Champlain Valley...Western Slopes...and portions of northeast Vermont. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EDT Thursday.

  8. That happened on the Mansfield side, that's why Stowe responded. Only thing sliding on this side are my planks. Conditions are gonna be zen level shit in the AM. PM refills were nice today.

    Taos 2018

NMski and TP4 got some timing game. Slay away while it lasts.
  14. Washed 3 dogs at Pet-valu in shorts and flip flops. Glad I came back for a 2 week hiatus and looking forward to the resumption of winter by this weekend. Couldn't have timed it better. Some snow is in the forecast, but currently, in my VT hood: * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Johnson Village, Johnson, Jeffersonville Village, Cambridge, Cambridge Village, Westford, Fairfax, Milton, Fletcher, Georgia, Jeffersonville, East Georgia, East Johnson and Cambridge Junction.
  15. Grommers tilled and the sun was BLAZING, softened up nicely
  16. All lifts will have a delayed opening due to grooming. We plan to open Morse Mt. at 9 am, Sterling Mt. at 9:30 am, and Madonna around 11 am. Presently checking trail conditions. Ice glazed conditions, staying another day. Fugly!
  17. VT's Haute route. Dilly, Dilly!
  18. We had one here today, warmer at the mountain than in town. Looks like a warming trend going into latter half of next week with little to no precip on the 10 day horizon. Timing is everything.
  19. Snow was fairly heroic mid mountain down. Upper shady spots had some pow preservation going on. I swapped out bindings and skied on the Coombas which are my shortest fat ski and they did nicely on some glade runs. I skied 3 runs and called it a day. lift lines were a bit long and my body is beat up. skiing with a taped left index finger knuckle and joint, taped big left toe, and a golf ball sized ding on my right shin when it kissed the steps while I was hauling firewood upstairs. Due to weather, we'll be leaving for PA on Mon or Tues instead. More snow and a shot at some icing.
  20. Snowing again....4-8" on deck in next 24 hours. Volcano emo. very nice..............
  21. Get new Mantras, they have rocker, are a solid all around ski for groomers and powder.
  22. Join the race team and be one of the 6 on the whole trail.
  23. Built a dog house for the pups, Allie approves. Anyone see the bat signal?
