I logged one relatively continuous run today for October. Hiked up Sterling, skied down rum runner to pipeline to a portion of Black Snake when the snow got too thin and the fins got too pointy. I'm guessing ~900 ft. Funner at the top, puckery lower down. I had a pretty messed up right foot from a ladder fall this summer and I wanted to see how the foot held up. Happy to report the pain was minimal up and down. Looking down rum runner Nice to slide even for a few minutes

Took a round trip up Madonna today, wanted to scope out the snow and maybe find a few skiable lines for Wednesday. Chance for some snow tonite/tomorrow. Foot deep drifts here and there, average 5-7" on a few of the trails on top. Sketchy even with rock skis, better snow is low angle and shaded. Mmmm. Mansfield tasty. Looks like a yurt is going up on this platform in the upper lot.

Chilly and damp in the Notch, may take a hike up sterling or Madonna today to see what's on the ground. Chance for some snow today and Wednesday at higher elevations. We stopped off at Fiddlehead brewery on the ride up and got a growler each of IPA and Koltch. Refills on the ride back to PA.

I'll sweat the details when I get up there. I have no control over the weather. Serenity now............

Stowe reports 1/2 foot on upper elevations, might be hiking for some turns and save myself the 2 hour ride to Killy. Smuggs cams show some snow on the slopes near the base as well.

Some nice squalling on the peaks up north today in VT!!

It's a model they don't carry, so the sale price doesnt apply. Well, they lost a sale. I wanted a 120 flex and the model they have is a 110. I price policed it on line and the price they quoted me is the same on line, but I only spent a few minutes looking. The search continues. I'd prefer to unload the gift card since I don't need anything else.

I've got a gift card with 278$ on it. I checked out Buckman's today and they don't carry the boot I want, would have to special order it, and I wouldn't get the sale price that they are running at their shops this week. I pretty much don't need anything else except boots, so if anyone is planning on dropping at least 278$ or more at one of the Buckman shops and wants to do a solid by giving me cash/check in exchange for the gift card, I'll knock $10 bux off for incentive.

If I can get motivated, I wouldn't mind doing a multi weekday Moetel trip and hit Montage, Elk and Denton just to knock 2 of them off the bucket list. Northern PA is gonna have to produce some good snow for that to happen

All the best for the mountain under new ownership, hope you guys have a good season. Still need to get up there someday.

I wore a gator on my head when I took the dogs out this AM. But still wore shorts. Time to bust out the beloved sweatpants. Nice to see Killy spritzing the slopes, I'll be tempted to ring the bell for a few weekday turns before October expires if they pull it off.

I used the same email addy (MSN) the past 2 years and got one. I have a gmail addy as well, and got one using my VT address just to mix it up. Weird that you got denied. Maybe try changing your name slightly or your mailing address/zip code.

Pricewise, agreed, but unless I can try the boot on in a store first to make certain of the size, boots can be a hit or miss. If you have to return them or exchange them online, the postage far outweighs the sales tax.

Correction about Buckman's price matching, apparently its only for other brick n mortar offers, although my buddy got them to match an online REI offer for 11/12 Gotama leftovers for $350. They had them reduced to $449 in the tent last week. Pretty sweet deal for a new pair.

That was a cold trip, but well worth it. I can't remember my last carcamping trip, mighta been VT in the MRV.
-
It's been a while since I slept in the Moetel. I put all those savings towards the house, lol. I could only see car camping if something happened snow wise around here (Elk, Blue Knob, even the catskills), but it has to be really good to get me to go.

That was the problem, they're 29's and that isn't a huge market. I thought I had them sold a while ago on TGR but that fell thru. I had originally ordered them online, were "too small" and then I overestimated a larger size. They felt fine until I used them for about 5-6 runs last december. Bummed because I liked them and had to lose some cash selling em. I was really surprised because they had Cochise's on sale this week for about 349, softer flexes though ; 90's and 110's I think. I'll use the cash to buy another pair there this week to take advantage of the sale. When I bought them, it was the first year or second year they made them, and no one local had them in stock to try on. PSA: Buckman's price matches, apples for apples, if you find it cheaper somewhere else or online.
-
Anybody use them? Flimsy? Supposed to hold up to 500 lbs but I wont get anywhere near that. I bought one online for $101 including shipping. We usually haul a trailer load of stuff up, but we're pretty much done with big stuff. This seemed like a good option for the cooler and a few odds and ends.
-
All my gear is up there, I got 3 other pairs of boots. Yeah, that's a 2.5 hour drive, but if its the only game in town, I'd consider it. I'll settle for some frosted peaks.

Sweet, I love hearing his forecasts.
