If we get the house I'm hoping for, I'm putting in a Generac LP, the whole house is propane and wood. I salvaged a generator outta my friend's shed that he could never get started and was given to him by a mutual friend before he passed along about 6-7 years ago. Got it running in about 2 hours and 12 bux in parts just before Irene hit. It's still chained to the railing on the front porch, I almost broke my f'in back lifting it around, HEAVY!!!! Just got done with my last indoor project and thru away the shorts and Tee as another sacrifice to the snow gods.

I did get my $$ back, I posted it in the flame thread last year. Mbike's deal is legit, this'll be my 3rd year getting the dealio.

We got started around 7:30. About 12 minutes of skiing combined, that bottom area was skiin on cobblestones, lulz.

Fun day for under the wire october turns at Jackson Frosthole. Parked at the bottom of Short hill road and skinned for some turns, then went over to Split Rock (Waterpark area?) and booted up for a few runs. Good day to just be outside and absorb some winter stoke.

Thanks Dan!

Woot! Still snowing? Hard? Looks pretty wet, you think it'll be skiable by 6AM up there on some of the trails?
-
6PM update is overdue. Power outage?
-
Keep the updates coming for Mt. Pokey area. Planning a dawn patrol if there's enough snowfall. Plan B would be Platts, sounds like they're going to spin lifts tomorrow.

Thanks, I'm coming out of summer hibernation.

I thought I had gone in Nov, turns out it was mid december. I stumbled on the Sawmill glades by accident. Coming off the lift, you go right to get to a few runs, including Sawmill, which was roped off. But if you continue going right past the top of the run you enter a wooded area that had an obscured sign for the glades and the access road led towards an area that was being developed, IIRC. So I banked left into the woods, skied about a 1/3 of the way down in the woods paralleling Sawmill and cut back onto the ungroomed slope back to the lift. Did that for 2 days and might have seen 1 or 2 boarders follow me. I was the only skier on fat rockered boards enjoying the shin deep pow.

I'd only head down if it got hit with a good storm and there wasn't anything worth driving to up north. I hit the sweet spot on a trip down there last season, reposting my first video edit when I went down there to get in the mood for the upcoming season.

American Dream Meadowlands (formerly Meadowlands Xanadu) $2.7 billion megamall project in East Rutherford, NJ including 700 foot indoor ski slope approved in May 2011 for $200 million in state tax breaks for new developer (Triple Five of Canada who owns 4.2 million square foot Mall of America in MN and 5.3 million square foot West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada). This 3 million square foot development which is expected to open phase 1 in fall 2013 and phase 2 in spring 2014 and serve 55 million visitors annually includes shops, restaurants, nightclubs, a 26-screen movie theater, a 3,000-seat performing arts theater, indoor glass-domed amusement and water parks, and a skating rink in addition to the indoor ski slope. I'll believe when I see it.

That is one of a kind, for sure. I think the DPS designers were smokin up a storm one night and left a pair of wailers on a hot radiator resulting in the new warp design! Too limited for frequent usage for me and I can't begin to guess what the price tag will be for these. Here he is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqWIjPghGpM

I'm checkin to see if there's any leftovers or blemmies available from Splat and I might have an inside track for a pair of new DPS below retail.

Should be here by Wed, pretty stoked. Just pulled the triger on a pair of Cochises', narrowing down the ski choice this week. Lhasa Pow and Wailers are top contenders right now. Nice dealio, Core. I gotta get into the outlet gig, I keep forgetting they exist for stuff like that. That's practically 1/2 price.

Hannah Mountain resort is about 8-10 miles away and I got a room for $70, 2 beds, lotsa room, indoor pool/sauna/hot tub and good food/beer deals at the bar. Take someone else along, check in solo for the 1 person deal, then stealth into the room and split the bill. Meet at the bar later like you never met before.
-
Well, I bought plum guides, so I need another pair of skis and prolly gonna pick up the Cochises as well. And bootliners and...maybe poles. Prolly goggles , too. Maybe another shell..... rebooked my cancelled trip to Euroland for Feb 16 -28.... There's some things over which I have little self control.........
-
Nuthin but new boot liners this year. Maybe some poles.
