Sun's going down, relief on the way for the next few days.

Cold weather and snow sounds good about now.

I'm almost done building one of these.

Welcome back. Interesting blog, Isabella and that pan of mystery goodness FTW.

Turning 50 end of May.

$4/gal gas officially ends my season for a journey north. Thought about heading up this weekend for spring korn, but that ain't happening. I'm wondering what gas prices are going to look like next season and if it makes sense to rent a place and season pass somewhere again. If gas hits $5/gal, even daytrips to Blue are gonna get costly unless the car is packed with bodies carpooling.

Top notch JL slayage as usual. How long a hike/skin from the lodge to the summit? What time did you guys head out in the AM to summit?

I mighta seen the last of lift served runs for the season. Touring Mt. Washington area is a possibility later this month. I'm considering buying my sister-in-law's mother's property in Sugar hill, NH, and want to take another walk through the house. She's in her 80's, so all I'm doing is getting first dibs on it. She's still in good health, god bless her, so it's an opportunity that could present itself today or in 20 years. I already discussed it with my sis in law, and they love the idea of keeping the house in the family.

Last week started off with high expectations and stoke boners for a footie or more of fresh in NE, but Ullr initially made it feel like a real April Fool's joke. I drove up with boarder/biker from TGR on Thursday and we decided to crash at a friend's house in Albany for the nite as the radar kept drifting further east offshore dragging snow totals lower. It made more sense to get up early and see who mighta got the better of the storm: MRG or maybe Slokemo. Woke up Friday to some disappointing news all around, so we headed for MRG. Got there around 8:30AM to about an inch in the lot. Made one run down as the snow fall gained speed and decided to party in the lot until it accumulated. By 12 there was a good 3"+ down and it kept getting better into the closing bell. Pockets of untouched pow in the 6-8" range were found, especially in the trees and a few runs on Paradise. Headed to Magic and overnited there waking up to about 4-6" of settled fresh cream cheese with a drier pow on top Saturday AM. Grippy runouts after noon was the only complaint for the day. Here's a edit:

Headin north Friday, destination unknown. Ullr is such a fluffer, I've been sportin a stoke boner since 5AM.

A few of those pics look like they were shot from a chopper. Where was the photographer standing in relation to Jeff coming down the hill?

Found this picture about 2 guys that had a flight cancelled to Asspen so they found alternative transportation. They spent the nite rockin the clubs and hot tubbin with the babes. Well, maybe not the babes. Jeffy tried to impress the babe by licking pole. She fell for it. High altitude, spicy food and strong beers did not agree with GSS's delicate constitution. Hope you feel better!

Let's get this thread started right. It's gonna be a hoot! Arriving in asspen econo style Jeff after a nite of nachos and beer Jeff still gruntin

There was a guy sporting hunting pants, grey plaid, not sure if he had a matching shirt or not. I think he said they were LL Bean pants, we saw him in the lodge booting up. My buddy thought they were Johnson wool pants. My dad's hooking me up with german lederhosen knickers. Bringing some Fahrvergnuegen to the gaper scene next season, and yodlin in the gullies.

Had a fun day there, Hump and Rocket were ungroomed and open at 9, I surfed on the Armadas and did a good job busting crust on Rocket. My first pass down Rocket was littered with patrollers on their backs with buried skis and a few boarders. Then they closed Hump and eventually closed Rocket because it was too crusty for the herd. I poached 3 more runs, the snow underneath was nice. Otherwise, it was groomer paradise with nice fairly soft conditions and great coverage. Elk should be tits tomorrow if anyone ventures out Friday. Oh, and SCamelack....$3 for a pretzel at the bar? GTFO. What yer still missing is a ferris wheel and a petting zoo to round out the insanely overpriced amusement park ya got there. The first pic shows my handy work on Rocket. 75% of those trax are mine, lulz.

$3 pretzels? The place is a a huge overpriced vending machine.
-
Rumor is Elk got the snow and missed the crust.
-
Livin the dream.....have a great trip.

Sobering experience, Glenn. Glad to hear you handled it. Stories like this are good to read for lesser mortals wanting to venture farther and deeper. Do you use an avalung?
