Affordability is secondary and not an issue. It's a choice, it adds a little more adventure to the trip, hones some skills and if the snow is falling elsewhere yer already packed, checked out and pulling the ripcord to the next destination. Oh, and this weather SUX!!!!!!!! Whole point of the thread.

Actually, that was just a pic I took after I set things up.But Ive done soups n stews in the crock a few times. Cooking is largely weather dependent and location dependent. I bring plenty of stuff I can eat cold as back up.

Window cracking, just a sliver is good for air flow. I do all my drinking in the pub, drain the vain and drop kids at the pool if need be before I crash. Generally speaking, once I park, I go to sleep. Everything is organized and dried for the next day already. Boots go on the back heater vents in the AM, which are conveniently elevated seat high for easy hands free warming. Boot dryer? No prob. See pic below.

Don't park until much later in the evening if parking at a resort. Get up early and move the car into an awesome front row spot. If I have any doubt, I have a sign I post up saying starter is shot.

I'm stoked to use my memory foam pad this season!

Good work, chaps. I'm delayed because the missus is still hospitalized and, this usually happens, I got a chest cold from going into hospital. F'in germ factories.
-
Conditions report pronto, bitch. The Mrs. had an asthma attack Friday nite, she's in the hospital until at least Monday, so my plans are delayed, otherwise I'd be booting up by Tues AM.

I'm going with my dad (73 yo) and as a retired officer, he gets a sweet deal at the US hotel in Garmish. Plus, we are training to Munich. I haven't ruled out Austria, if he's up for the roadtrip. And I've skied Austria/Swissy/Italy as a kid, so I'm just happy to get over there and ski anywhere. I've gotta spend some time in the frankfurt area as well to visit with family so I have to split my time up.

Nurnberg is a really beautiful city with boatloads of history. Kristkindel market should still be up and running and ya gotta chow down on their local brats and sauerkraut. I'm already tasting the german beer in my mind, lol. PS there's some pretty sweet deals for overseas flights if you do some homework. Flight: Philadelphia to Frankfurt am Main Traveler name: Michael xxxxxxx Total ticket cost: $273.00 Taxes & Fees: $486.30 Airfare total: $759.30 Philadelphia (Philadelphia Intl.) to Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt) 02/10/11 6:10 PM - 8:10 AM Lufthansa 427 Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt) to Philadelphia (Philadelphia Intl.) 02/19/11 1:15 PM - 4:15 PM Lufthansa 426

Good time at the premiere last nite, the movie kicked ass! Met T*Maki and a few other peeps. Began drinking at 5 with a coupla friends that came down. Couldn't rally for beers in Manayunk afterward. Went directly to bed. Musta been the 4 caucasians that pushed me over the cliff. I did one panoramic vid of the cafe. But there still appears to be problems with file attachments.
