I plan to go, no idea when. Been busy on the home front before I head out to UT, I couldn't get away the past few weeks and I'm chompin at the bit to get out and ski. If I go, I'd like to hook up with a small group (2-4) that are familiar with the area. Also need to determine what additional equipment I should pick up.

Or 2 pintsize top shelf white russians and a $3 tip. F CB.
-
Never looked into it, so I can't answer that. Hunter does have a few campsites a short drive from the mountain that I looked at for a contingency plan. no idea for Blue or CB as well.
-
. $9 @ Wallymart, and it came in handy for caucasians on the Blue 6pk!

Not GG. Stoli, kalua and milk. Pint glass packed with ice, it's not that much liquor. It's a titty bar price, a nightclub price, an NYC/LA price. Not a Tannersville price.
-
It is "generous" but it's almost no skin off their backs. One 21$ white russian should cover it. F CB.

Next year, it'll be weekday only, at nite....and a mandatory 15 minute sales presentation...kinda like a timeshare, lol.

Hunter Mtn. - Free day for other seasons passholders
moe ghoul replied to Rambo's topic in General Chat
I'd hike, trying to see if anyone is considering the same thing on some other ski boards. Basically, I'm trying to fill in a void of several weeks until we head out to UT, and cancelling our ME trip has me chomping at the bit to hit something between now and then. Not feeling any love for the Pokes at this point. -

Plattekill reported 6-8" of snow, thinking of heading up there for an overnite camping trip. -
Happy Valentines day..

Always a good time up there, nice pix. I think those glades (Pic #5) are the Dead Timber Glades, not sure if that's an official or unofficial name for them. Where'd you stay up there? High Peaks Hotel had a pretty sweet deal going that we missed the week we were up there.

Too lazy......here's a few pics. Weather was good, teens in the AM into the upper 30's in the PM, no new snow, coverage was good, very little ice except on a few well travelled sections, shaded trees like 10th Mtn. glades still had some powdery shots, Slides 2& 3 were bumped, exposed ledges, skied off in some areas. Spent Wednesday doing top to bottom runs, spent Saturday doing the Little Whiteface lift thru cloudpslitter glades, Upper empire, Approach, etc back to the lift. Dinner highlight was at a new place that opened in the past year or so, Caffe Rustica, had a killer NY strip topped with gorgonzola in a demiglaze. Had beers and apps at the Dancing Bear (fairly new as well) part of the High Peaks resort, I think. OK food, nothing to write home about. Enjoyed skiing Lookout Mtn, interesting runs, Hoyt's was closed, Lookout below was open sporadically, did a run down once, wasn't into it conditionswise. Sugar Valley glades were tracked out as expected, but still fun to check out for the first time. Only took a few pix this time, wasn't into the whole shutterbug thing on this trip. -

We cancelled our trip up to ME, Saddleback/Loaf last minute, not worth driving 12 hours one way for up to 3 days of rain. Gonna re-evaluate for next week, maybe a trip to MRV if we can't get the free digs in Rangeley. Sugarbush is doing $17 lift tix for St. Patty's Day. -
Hope the weather holds up for you, we were up there last week with almost springlike conditions by Friday, still good coverage on most of the runs and terrain.
-
Nice pic of Gerhart!!!!
-
2nd chair, top of the runs were windbuffed, but plenty of nice fresh snow and drifts for the other 2/3 of the slopes. Dreamweaver bumps were filled and skiers right was boot to shin deep. did the Lift line about a half dozen times while still fairly untracked, it was pretty scraped off by noon. Left at 1:30. Sidewinder had plenty of good snow along the edges. Skied Challenge, Razor, Sidewinder, Nightmareweaver. Here's a pic.......

I'm crashing now, up at 5, on the road by 5:30, DD for coffee and fat pills, safety sesh in the lower lot by 8. Just gotta sync up some tune-idge on the iphone for the ride up!

Trudat, Dime.....They're little hills but they're ours, so we ski em. skiing's like a drug, you want more.........sometimes homegrown is all we gots.
-
Orange Arcteryx, 9thward Rorys, Barons, Grey brimmed Gyro. Lead, follow or get run over.
-
I hear ya. Going out west or up North spoils me to the point that only days like tomorrow get me pumped to hit the Pokes. JF doesn't have enough vert, but the trees are still fun.
-
They're trying to raise enough dough to put in a hotel/timeshare......."The 5th Floor"....Prolly raise the season pass to 1000 next year, lol. BTW, long time friends and passholders told me how bad it sux there. They ordered 2 Caucasians..top shelf...pint glasses.....used to cost them $8/drink. Under new management the price was.............. wait for it..................... $42 for both. Hey, SCamelback..........go F yerself.
