Well looks like this weekend will do it. Final day of the season is Sunday the 13th. Wacky final weekend build going down in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Boxzilla, s rail to c box and other goofy stuff yet to be determined. Pondskimming sunday I believe but don't quote me on it.

Throw out skis??? I think I still have the first pair of Blizzards I ever learned to ski on haha.
-
Sadly enough it might actually be my skis haha. Pretty sure they are 06 chronic wides, and I bought em used. I'm just a slacker though cause I got brand spankin new icelantics still in the plastic waiting on binders.

It isn 't that bad. Ponds have plenty of water, I'm sure we haven't seen the last of snowmaking temps. They will close the same time they do pretty much every year, the weekend before the snowmobile races. They just blew last night and a full build on black bear went down also.
-
Good, we need it......BAD.
-
Well I mean, our intention is to make each one better than the last. Gonna see if we have enough snow for some more jump action and they were talking about making some pretty creative features. Not sure what got put in exactly as I didn't actually work the build. Re-racked cascade by leaving some and putting a few new out. I think everything below the mailbox to stairs is staying, they were gonna redo the top of BB.
-
Word on the street is another build went down last night.
-
Well I guess that's out then. How about this blue knob place? Anybody been there recently? 1000 vert? How this has flown under my radar for so long is beyond me. Now that I'm living west of Reading though it looks like not a terrible drive.
-
Wow, pretty packed. Wonder what it looked like over at F chair. I won't make it in til thursday, should be all packed down by then.

Seriously, WTF is with this Weather?

Gotta have at least 24-30 in the reading area. Spent the better part of two days shoveling. Didn't bother to measure exact snowfall, it was deep though. -
So is this place members only or is the skiing and riding open to the public?
-
For some reason I always see snow geese flying over Bear Creek, happens several times a season. We saw an owl swoop over the trails during the night a week or two ago as well.
-
If it's that bad you can always go north on 100 into shimerville and take a left at the light there, I think it's less of a straight uphill that way. I used to take huffs church just to avoid all the gapers driving up state st. from turkey hill. I didn't get out today, watching the step son and shoveling. we found out on the drive home last night that during my engine swap me and my buddy missed something as I have no 4wd. Knew I should have checked that before this storm.
-
Yup, shoveling like a madman and a tiny magnetic nametag don't really mix. Think I lost mine the first week. We used to have BC Ironworks jackets but that wen't goodbye. I still have the jacket though, best one I ever got working there, it's a sweet oakley jacket. Probably gonna break it out tonight actually cause it's the warmest jacket I have.

Depends how nice you want your bases and edges to stay haha.

Probably told this story here before, but I was hit and totaled by a liftie doing donuts once at blue. On my way in the gate on the access road and look over to see a crappy old car sliding straight for me. I still went skiing that day. -
Maybe that's why I get scanned all the time. No logo on our jacket either so we kinda blend in. Had to go get a new pass the other day when I lost mine in the truck for a short time.

I would be useless at work with a busted wing or leg.
-
Too big and scary for my day job having over 30 ass that's for sure. I wouldn't tackle that thing if you paid me.

It is obviously going to dump two feet on Friday night as I have an APA pool tournament to attend saturday morning up by Hamburg. -
Will try to talk to the guys next build about putting something more mellow down the bottom for the crossover riders from cascade, or who knows, cascade next to tubing could stand to have a feature or two. Maybe something not so difficult there would suffice. I know it's thin there though and I think features there in the past have caused trouble grooming around them. haha the blue paint, I haven't seen that stuff in a while. I guess it does help on super flat light days, and it makes the park look more legit for those actually filming edits and stuff. I will look around maybe and see if we have any, I really hope that doesn't mean an adventure into the dark depths of the wildlife jungle that is now the yurt. Oh yea Kyle, the battleship is in up top now too. I gotta start taking notes when I work so I can give ya a more accurate update when we do new builds or add features.
-
I've met Kyle and I still can't spot him. Being on this site and NS and having many meetings of internets peeps over the years has taught me one thing, it's always kind of weird. With that said it's like any other odd situation in life, just dive in and talk to people. I really feel like stickers are an odd but effective icebreaker in this situation. I've had many kids over the years bump into me and ask about my NS stickers on the mountain without ever talking to them online or in person previously. It's just a good starting point. People who don't know, don't ask, people who recognize it will strike up conversation simply at the sight of something familiar.

Grillin tasty burgers on the deck out front the grill, and breakfast buffet in the trails end. no real jumps yet but there are the standard side hits at the top of cascade and at the crossovers. Squatch is open and surprisingly there were some bumps developing. F chair is going now too and I imagine next build will see family park set up at the top if they can lay a bunch of snow this week.
