Seriously, WTF is with this Weather?
PASKIINGSUCKS replied to Ride Delaware ?'s topic in General Chat
Did this happen or are you still interested?? I'm heading down this weekend and could grab one for a fellow PASR dude. Already got em -
Well, as a previous humble employee of the BC parks who has signed paperwork saying I won't post ill or hateful comments or about BC to social media, even this website specifically named. I'll just say that I wouldn't expect any updates from Skierthomas this year and your best bet right now for updates on the parks would be to contact bear directly through FB and ask about the terrain parks. I hope to return this year so I won't say more at this time. If hired back again I'll do my best to keep anyone interested here posted as much as I can. IMO it was a special opportunity that we had on PASR in that the Parks manager would post updates and inside information here, I hope that doesn't change this year as I know there are a few people on here who are regulars at BC. Maybe next time I speak to one of the higher ups I will try to clarify what exactly we can and can't post on here as it's mostly useful info to customers rather than hate posts but who knows what they want the general public hearing. Actually I've been meaning to send someone an email this week anyway, so I'll let him know customers are asking already and see what we are allowed to post in regards to rail building and new updates and such. Painful but oh so true. Naysayer, didn't you see the Farmers this year, gonna be chest deep blower and frozen pipes all over the region again from December til April.

Good answer Toast. Great video. Looks like everybody enjoyed the hell out of last winter down here. No offense but I'd call that more liftline skiing than tree skiing. I'll go ahead and assume you got a fair amount of woods runs in too though. Or maybe you just don't enjoy dodging trees as much as I, who knows. Or maybe you just didn't wanna post that online due to the fact that you are season pass holders and they are strict up there? Regardless, I think we can all agree last winter was stellar and we are all hoping for the same again.

I wasn't really trying to slam Blue, I grew up skiing there among the other "mountains" of PA. I just meant in comparison it's not really heaps above BC. Would be interested to hear from some of you regulars how the tree skiing is there after a good dump. Last season was good to us and I must say I had some of the best runs I've ever had skiing at BC, I honestly never knew you could ski basically from top to bottom there in the woods and just cross a few trails. I see Blue advertises some glades, I've never seen em but I don't frequent blue, but what is there policy on skiing the trees otherwise. Like will you get yelled at and ejected for it like they do at Elk or do they pretty much just look the other way like at BC. I mean after those good storms this year it seemed like everybody was tracking out the woods at Bear and the patrol couldn't really care less. I was overjoyed by that and honestly was a bit surprised. For the record I always liked blue as much as any other PA mountain. Maybe I'll try and get up to join some of you PASR guys a few times this year. Only other time I see any of ya is when you come down to take podium spots at BC ha.

Yea about 20 seconds of downhill skiing difference, it's laughable really. Oh a whole week earlier eh? You're right that is a very significant amount of skiing time. I mean if you wanna call that stuff blue blows "snow" then go right ahead. Resorting to cussin already Douglass?? That's not like you at all. Settle down fella, we've got about 3 or 4 months til mid-atlantic ski season start, pace yourself.

Straight from you favorite mountain's deceptive website ha. Sounds almost like you've got a ton of vert over there huh? Truth is you have twice as much vert and twice as much terrain. Which when comparing two bumps on the grand scheme of things is like two women bickering over whose got the bigger bust when they're both B cups. Blue doesn't even really get any better weather cause it's really not a whole bunch farther north. I mean sure it's fun, but so is BC. I think the park kids like it so much cause the two main lifts put pretty much everything you do in the park on display for all to see.

Oh please. "Experts will want to jump on the 3,000 foot Double Black Diamond Trails like Challenge or Razor's Edge"

Want to Buy: Longboard(surf and skate)
PASKIINGSUCKS replied to PASKIINGSUCKS's topic in Classifieds
Couple times now yes. Once at BC when we chatted about the stickers I totally flaked on making for his mom's fudge business(Sorry bout that man, could probably still do it if she's still interested as I still have the vinyl) and again when I bought the longboard off him up in allentown. Seems like a solid dude, salt of the earth type, 10/10 would drink or ski with any time. -

Thanks a ton in advance man. Always surprised by the opportunities of a community, even one as small as this one. -

PASKIINGSUCKS replied to PASKIINGSUCKS's topic in Classifieds
Well I understand longboards tend to be a bit more expensive but I was hoping for the 1-200 hundo range. I'm a total noob and never was one for shiny new gear so thrashed and beaten boards would be totally acceptable as long as they are still ride worthy. Also i'd obviously be willing to pick up. I'll be down again in mid september and mid october. Might check with East of Maui down there too in case they sell off some of their rental boards toward the end of the season, doubt I'd get a deal there though. I might go higher if need be or maybe I could get one of my beachgoing buddies to chip in on it with me since there are a few of us that tend to go down there together a fair amount. -

Bump Huge thanks to Shadows for the skateboard. Been bombing hills every time I go down to Cape Henlopen and loving every minute of it. Bumping cause i'm still looking for a good starter surfboard to take down there and try my hand at that sport. -
Pretty new, maybe a year or two. I was kicked out like two summers ago so if you saw people fishing last fall they were definitely not allowed but I doubt they kick out out within minutes of throwing a line in. As far as I know there aren't any cameras on the pond just yet ha.
-
You might get away with one run if you didn't hike directly up the hill. They would most definitely kick you out. Call the cops?? I don't know about off season but during ski season the cops are already there in house. I'd like to think they wouldn't throw the book at you but this is a place that doesn't even allow fishing in their ponds anymore so who knows.
-
And not a single F*** was given that day. Shaun who? You mean that posterboy who is a bigger name but less impressive than 75% of other sponsored riders? I couldn't care less.
-
I could see the groomer over there from LST last night and was wondering what you guys were up to. Sounds fun. I gotta help the GF move sunday but I'm hoping to wrap it up before 4 so I can come take some closing day runs. I might even bring a snowboard haha. Any crazy boxzilla features going in Saturday night?
-
I'll be there pushing snow around Saturday morning. Cascade is set up sweet, but that pic is the park before plowing for the races. Black bear is totally flat with no features right now for the snowmobiles on Sunday.
-
Black bear or Kodiak, Black bear is the park usually. But yea, pretty much everything but Sasquatch and the two steep ones under and next to the top of F chair could all be considered greens at a larger or more western resort. No argument there. Yea I'm pretty sure they measure vert from the top of the radio tower like they measure snowpack from the top of the jump knuckles. BC, currently sitting on a 10 foot base depth haha. I love the place don't get me wrong. I mean who ever heard of a ski resort exaggerating numbers right????
-
I've hiked it, either I smoke too much or the topos lie. Odds are I just smoke too much. At first I thought this was all an intense internet persona ruse put on by the genius that is doug and I kinda really wanted to meet him. Then I saw you guys at blue that one early season day, what was it last year?, suddenly it all made sense and I haven't been back to blue mountain since for fear of running into him again. GSS single handedly turning skiers away from blue mountain since whatever date he signed up on PASR.
-
Seriously doug??? Post that stuff in a useless thread or over in a blue forum somewhere. What does that even remotely have to do with BC??
-
Sasquatch is in no way a green run I don't care what mountain you put it on. It is in no way a long run, but it is fairly steep, maybe a blue square at most other large mountains. If you straightline it it takes about 8 seconds top to bottom ha. I mean we do have about 500 vert feet after all so...... Kyle, black bear was leveled for the snowmobile races this sunday. It's odd but staying open while having the races didn't leave many options. There are a few features over at F chair on timberline to keep the park rats happy, I think it's 8 or ten features. Ridge, tough night to head up there, you must have been one of the 6 people we saw on the hill. Can't say I'm disappointed they closed for the night, it was pouring. PASR throwback claim.......PAPASTEEZE taught me how to surf fish on my birthday down at indian river. He's a really cool guy actually from what I saw. Met him down there a few times, let me and my girl park at his place in rehoboth so we could walk over to dogfish for dinner and brews. Dude even spooled my first surf rod with braided line for free, which would have run about 30 bucks or so at a shop. His H1 hummer was awesome and a dream surf fishing buggy. Guy knows how to rip lips in the surf that's for damn sure. Heard nipples actually won the big air contest at BC this year, kind disappointed I didn't see PAPA there. Also I think word on the street is cascade and black bear will be off limits all sunday for the races. I'll be up there riding and watching as one of my buddies is in the stock 500 class.
-
haha I don't know honestly, I know they aren't as tight about their trees as say Elk mountain though so I doubt it. Anything's possible.
-
actually it has, from what I hear........from people that have been skiing the trees. As an employee I would never do such a thing of course.
-
I'm not sure about that, I've been there 4 years now. Think they have pretty much always had a closing date of mid march. I agree the could easily go into april, we will see though after these snowmobile races this weekend and what they do to the snow to prepare for them. Shoot, there's still snow in the woods up there.
-
Mostly just report on the park when kids ask about it. Haven't been doing much skiing at all this year other than working the park at bear. Got up to elk last week and that was about it. I'm actually just waiting for beach, boating, and fishing season to come back. I never used to look forward to warm weather but kayaking and surf fishing have changed that a lot in the last few years. Son of a B**** did I actually just type out a serious response to Doug? I have lost the internets.
