Today was great. Nice soft 2 inch granular surface.
I snowboard EVERY weekday at JF for 3 hours in ALL conditions.
5 degrees or 50 degrees never matters to me cuz you can always dress for rain or cold.
The surface is usually very well groomed with enough granular powder to give you the ride you are looking for. I snowboard on hardpack and ski when the snow melts to a soft mashed potato slush.
We don't get much deep soft snow like the 6 inches Tuesday's snow storm
dropped on us in 5 hours so you have to learn to ride on everything, snow, slush , ice,
what ever today is, its better than staying home watching X games on TV.
There was more people there today than any other Friday so far this year but that is to be expected.
This is a holiday weekend where kids get off from school so parents have no problem going to the mountains for the weekend.
But even with the crowds there wasn't that much of a wait, if any at all, for the lift lines.
People were polite and behaved very well.
You may get more runs in if you eat lunch at 11 instead of 12 because everyone mobs the cafeteria at noon for lunch and empties the hills.
Come real early, the parking lots do fill up and the rental shop does get wiped out.
If you snowboard and are going to teach a newbie , have the newbie wear rollerblade
wristguards and kneepads and a helmet. Better to bounce than break something.
