not a bad point at all... because from a safety standpoint that is a brutally honest way to put it. It's in your face, nothing open for interpretation. Something you hard headed park rats can understand. I like it.

Talk to nipples... The only person worthy for his 133cm LINE ghettoblasters and that is Jackie. I hate to see them go (they were his first twin) however it would be nice to see someone use them that would appreciate them. Its up to nips, though Heather, Thanks for the clarification!

It's a PR announcement guys..... They need to take that position to keep all the people who have been going to BB for 50 years off thier backs.. OR BB has a plan to teach the uneducated downhillers in the park when a confrontation occurs. Somehow, I think the "i bought a ticket so I can ski this trail" will over ride respect to people in the parks. It's not a good idea to announce and advocate park trails to be open to everyone, especially when there is so much push for "park passes". BB - PARK PASSES! what you will hear 07/08 if you openly encourage park trails for downhill freeskiing.

Sucks when someone does something stupid in the park!

I guess I am on SkierOnSkis message board the same way I give out phone numbers. If I have anything to say, I will say it directly to you. For example: Are you that stupid to think I sent you a PM on another board? Back on subject. How about this, I think it would be stupid to allow the dougs of the world in the parks. -

You are an absolute ass. Either state the facts or don't spread shit like that about my kids. GOT IT? Glen, we are saying the same thing. My original post was a sarcastic jab and prediction of park in comparison with organized racing. Ridge gained all of his skills on the open mountain as Steven has from an "open" park. As far as going west, eastern guys who have the chance to ski west, explore terrain that they don't have at home. no doubt. True Park rats stay mainly in the park..... nipples for example. Yea he ventures to other areas, but not often and only if it was someone elses idea. -

I wasn't talking about skills, I was alluding to the organizations that take the fun out of competitive skiing that you have to join. -
Yes.... They mentioned skiers first!

to each his own, I am speaking for nipples when I say that we tour world class resorts frequently and he never sees the mountain, rarely leaves the park. -
He sent a BC race team update out today. Happy Birthday!

Maybe you have a lot more of annual western experience than I do. I am stating my opinion based on my observations. Alta is like Deer Valley as far as I am concerned. 1 unique resort that targets a specific market does not establish the overall trends. Brighton is the hot spot for that. How ever I do have some BC video from Alta from about 5 years ago that I came across. -

huh I don't think I have been to a western mountain in the last 3 years that didn't have a park. Where do you go? I have been going west for 30 years, every time I return to a place that I had been to before, I see more trails filled with park features than the previous visit. Every year there are more and more and bigger parks. Twin tip sales are consistently up every year while the overall market has been flat.. It's not rocket science... Even this board, the majority of the users here are park related, or they are the most vocal, whatever. The trend is taking over even here at PASR -

It'll happen, I think it's the only area left for snow sports to migrate to: 10 years from now. Mark my words Park passes are the first step towards regimenting. -
Yes... That will keep most of the once or twice a season people who have little or no understanding away. They are just trying to get in as much as they can, can't say I blame them. Give them a little park to trash the rentals in. A small park encouraging beginners to start there is key to educating, with out it, you are pissing in the wind. dumb idea, wannabes like you would think it is a race lane. WORD! Why won't blue do them, Why? Doesn't matter to me that they aren't, I want to know why! This is key.. I have had many a conversation with patrollers riding up the lift about the parks. They basically don't go in (too many rules broken) , shy away from, (afraid of retribution) or are told to leave them alone. (told hands off) different stories at different mountains.. Patrollers have the authority, they should be educated and they should be in the park doing what they are compensated to do. Patrolling, first aid, etc etc.

I predict that terrain park competitions will eventually go the way racing has. You will have to join several organizations to be eligible join a team. Then you are going to have to train for first half of the season thinking about hitting the features, because form and fundamentals is more important in developing atheletes. Then, and only then if you are not on the development team, a couple of weeks before your first competition, they will have some limited features to practice on, half the size of the ones you will actually have to do in the comp.... Yeah, when mountains are now devoting 50% of thier terrain to parks and places like camelback have a pass program, it is only a matter of time before someone figures out on how to capitalize on it by making it exclusive. -

A terrain park without a park pass system is not SMART STYLE.. I predict that parks will eventually go the way racing has. You will have to join several organizations before you can then join a team who are then going to have to train for first half of the season practicing thinking about doing the course, because form is more important than having fun. Then a couple of weeks before your first comp, they will have half the size of the features that you will actually have to do in the comp.... -

what? who? that doesn't make sense. Some of you know that I have a long term goal/dream of managing/owning a ski resort. I even looked at montage awhile back from a tip from ski.... nooooo freakin way. way too much hair growing on it, right off the get go, there were too many strings attached, the first one was to keep all the same employees. Not my style, I want who I want to run things, anyhow...... Props to sno mountain for giving it a run, ski keeps ignoring the fact that I want this sale to go through. However, I call em as I see them and quite frankly, intuition at the first announcement has been nagging me about this "deal". It didn't sit right. I guess maybe.. "If it seems to be too good to be true"......... It doesn't surprise me that politics has now gotten in the way. I called that tree huggers and soil conservation would hurt or slow expansion plans. Now as this thing goes on other things come up that I think about and choose to voice questions. Like what is the appraised value as raw ground, not a ski resort.

Ok I admit it, you are right, I get a huge rise out of watching you get upset at my posts. Everytime you respond the way you did to a valid question like I did at the start of this thread you just make your self look sillier and sillier to all who it read it. Great job!
