huh?? hard booting refers to alpine boarding - Is alpine boarding that obscure? It's todays equivelent of the monoski of days past. What is Carving? Carving on a snowboard means never skidding. Carvers tilt the snowboard high on edge, leaving pencil-thin trenches in the snow, while leaning into the turn until both forearms are skimming the slope. Carvers make perfect half-circles out of each turn, changing edges when the snowboard is perpendicular to the fall line and starting every turn on the downhill edge. Carving on a snowboard is like riding a roller coaster, because the board will lock into a turn radius and provide what feels like multiple Gs of acceleration. It feels like the purest way to ride a snowboard, because no skidding is involved. It also qualifies as a spectator sport that shows off the most beautiful, perfect turns you will ever see on the slope. It can be done to a limited extent with a stiffer freeride snowboard setup, but to achieve "dialed in, locked-in" carved turns, carvers use snowboard racing gear, which consists of hard-shell snowboard boots, hard plate bindings, and a race board. Carving also requires a skill set that is somewhat different from either freeriding or racing. In the U.S., carvers are a rare breed: Except when snowboard races are held, there will typically be fewer than a dozen carvers on the hill, and carving gear constitutes less than 1% of the snowboard market. I read everything again. Apparently, there is no commitment to having the 11' pipe open in time for the seasons' start. Seems to me that eventually trails 23 through 27 could become all park related. Dorsey, you should go after the park managers job. I am not digging on a certain slope but, I think the groomers at CB are more experienced than anyone else in the poconos.

Is Washo spending his own money to bring this suit? Whats his angle? Why does he care so much that he would wind things up like this? It doesn't make sense. I would think that there would be grounds for a counter suit to hold him liable for any more losses due to delays in the event he his case is dismissed. Where are the attorneys for the good guys?

yeah - I read it too quickly. I was hallucenating on the map changes and no charge park pass for the big park only. You have to choose either rhodo or oak grove can't do them both. It doesn't sound like the 1/2 pipe will be part of the pass system.

Makes sense, except everyone on here is focusing on the prizes. I have said it numerous times, I 'll say it again. In this case the "money" is gift certificates, correct? Divide the 1k into $500 for each of the "open" divsions. The showdown event at BC paid this for each category. Props to Pinnacle. Nipples got a whole new summer camp outfit from his winnings. It was a cummalative point score. Someone here is rocking a new surf board!! So you guys know. I have seen summer rail jams pay more than 1k in cash!! 1k in gift certificates to randomly drawn should not have the focus in this comp, but it does. Yeah!!! I just read the post above. Support your shops that support these events, because with out them, I doubt there would be few prizes. If anyone is down towards Wilmington and interested in visisting the Ski Bum let me know, I'll call ahead for you!! They are a 4 season shop eager to please. Because they are farther south, it is my opinion that there is a different more positive "air" people eager to help.

I heard that the True Legend part II is coming possibly as a bonus section in RTR's QUICK plus a Trail of destruction edit from camp.

Seems the majority of respondants agree with DH on the 1k thing. The open division should have the mad money split between at a minimum. Listen to DH, he knows what is up.

it was mentioned. with the new zaugg, I believe the intent is more USASA and Grand Prix type of stuff. Sun bowl makes sense because of it location for spectators.

Will each night be a different skill? Like bigair, pipe, slopestyle, rails? How about starting times? practice time? Ohhhh..... who is managing the calendar this year? Get this type of stuff up on there please. I entered a 100 events last season, I hope that someone steps up to the plate.
