  1. nope... not until I don't have to feel like Ihave to rush down there to get a spot because the employees are rushing in to punch a clock
  2. Papasteeze

    Props

The last 4 or 5 days first runs on cliffy have been so nice.. I got 10 runs in hour on one day!!!
  3. Well, what did she end up getting?
  4. Wouldn't it stand to reason that from a start point, that mass in relation to surface area corresponding to the surface area of a ski (resistence). Assuming that all other things are equal, that theoretically, they would arrive at the end point at the same time?
  5. Every mountain has had a different format in previous years. If it is a "true to form" qualifier, then 35 kids will stay together as a group, then they should session a box, hit one jump, do some slalom gates, then put it all together for a slopestyle. MC limited the event to 35 participants - so I doubt they will close the park for this, they probably will just fence off a couple of features. We are definitly going on Sunday. I have room to shuttle from the CB parking lot. I would like to leave by about 6AM
  6. Welcome Back shadows. Message nipples on AIM - I waited until this weekend to tell him what happened. He really was saddened to hear the news as we all were, apparently he rode with you just prior to the accident. Anyhow, it's great that you are back and healing up. Let me know, if you want to come up to CB and hang out up at NorthRidge or go to one of the comps with us or anything, once you have permission to start moving around again.
  7. Then quit feeding the fire and ignore the negative and focus on the positives. I think his accomplishments are fantastic and worthy of praise, not bad mouthing. Badmouthing in itself also sets a bad example.
  8. I never said that Rahlves isn't more consistent. But I don't buy into being harsh on someone because of a slide or an off period. We all have em. Isn't that why they call him "explodee"..
  9. Since I started this thread I am taking close notice of where every other employees' parking lot is. Whitetail is about at the same location as lot 6 at CB - that lot was full 45 minutes prior to lift opening on Saturday. I arrive at CB at about 7:30, what time do you get there? EDIT: Sorry, i forgot congeniality. WELCOME TO PASR !!!!!!
  10. Jeez - mom... the guy just did really well one month ago. His antics weren't just after the Beaver Creek, they were from last year and well before, if the bad press stopped or never got out, would he be an awesome athelete now? Sorry, if it seems like I am picking on typed words. But if anything, he was not an awesome athelete then because of the stuff he was doing then..... But now, we can only assume that he is in full focus and he is an awesome athlete now, as evidenced by his performance at BC ...
  11. Here is another perspective from a racing reporter: Did anybody watch the segment?
  12. Welcome - BMParkCrue!! It's great to see more representation from you guys on here. keep us posted on how you guys hold up this week. I owe a nod to the free ride program with a blue trip for my little skier - he is the little guy in the brown jacket.. http://media.putfile.com/Web-Christmas-Park-Update
  13. How freakin ironic and stereotypical is that!!! Too, too funny! EDIT: I guess I should say something about spamming.. But I won't.... Yet....... Tell us a little more, like how about some April discounted lodging available to PASR members as a group. Bell and Hunta are a tradition for early and late season for a lot of us..
  14. I am a big sissy to straight line speed. I still haven't found the right brain bucket for my pin head, so unless I wear ear plugs, the wind whistling in my ears and high rates of speed freaks me out. I would like to know how fast I am going though.
  15. Word! What comes around goes around. You reap what you sow. I know some of you are rolling right now, but you don't really know me, you only know me through the typed dynamics of a message board. Ditto - CB doesn't offer anything back that I am aware of. Be thankful Cool Try and be nice to service people, it'll pay you back later. hmmm.. I noticed that the Belleayre staff are some the nicest and most helpful - but then they are NY state employees, correct?
  16. Because - if kids want to challenge me to race then I am like the principal who gets his head shaved after a fundraisers goal has been met.
  17. sure.. we can add that in but only after you register, select PASR as your club and beat me!!
  18. He won't accept the conditions..
  19. If anyone wants to race me then......... You must register at Nastar, it is free - http://www.nastar.com/index.jsp?pagename=register Then select PASR as your club team and Camelback as your Resort Team - and then and only then, on a timed gated course (Nastar) My terms for those who feel the need to challenge and beat me - otherwise. There is no point in challenging me to anything else. Nastar is the only type of program I will race this season. I should be at BC Wednesday night. Bring a club card if you have one - lift tickets are $12
  20. There is no way the topography would allow for a compliant ramp from that parking lot up to the drop off area without traversing the gabion retaining wall for about 250' in my estimation. That would be major work. I'll have to take more notice on where the handicap spots are in relation to other ski areas. Here again. Word has it, that there were a lot of spaces added due to the Camel Beach season that had not got taken down before the start of the ski season. I don't know that for a fact.
  21. Hey! My confidence is growing, I am a bit of a broke neck and rehab is taking longer and longer. I wouldn't call it cocky by any means. I have always been a recreational skier. This year I decided to get some "turny slalom skis" and see what it was like. BTW the Mega Demo Day at Whitetail was AWESOME!! 8 tents set up - I tried 4 sets of skis. Anyway, I think I typed that I want to beat Ridge just once and that is my goal this season. He says no way. I am not interested in spending a "ski day" with ASRA or the other orgs... yet. Nastar currently offers me a perfect venue to get a small thrill of racing. I'll run some gates with Ridge Wednesday night at BC. Hmmmm.. I think I will wear the speed suit and dress him in my ski jacket. OH!! "Here Ridge let me tune your skis"
  22. ADA compliance in public places is serious business, I deal with the regulations on a regular basis. Without writing a book - there was a series of events. "CB is going to work on our image and become more customer friendly" "Gripes from some regulars who make runs in the morning and leave by 10am or so" "My own surprise and observation 1/2 hour before the lifts open with the full first lot" Ranger quote - "those HC signs were supposed to be taken down after CBeach closed" -- My reply "It's funny to see those spots in an area that does not have ADA compliant ramps within a reasonable distance, it's no wonder that very few of those spots are used" I was riding on a lift with one Ranger and what looked to be 2 long time Ski Patrol guys. They were speechless after that comment.. Ironically or coincidently some of handicap signs were taken down that night. I noticed first thing the next morning, then that night, as I was leaving, I was told I could not park there by a CB employee. Hence this thread.... Just trying to help CB be more friendly by providing the required amount of spaces ADA compliant and open up the closest parking lots to the slopes for paying customers. BTW - Whitetail Saturday has their employees parking well away. I was the second vehicle in the lot at 7:30 am. As we walked up, everyone greeted us with a smile and a hello! While it got crowded as could be later on, I got a warm and fuzzy feeling while there from the friendliness of the staff! OOOPS wrote a book.
  23. Here is what I think. You must register at Nastar, it is free - http://www.nastar.com/index.jsp?pagename=register Then select PASR as your club team and Camelback as your Resort Team - and then and only then, on a timed gated course (Nastar) If I beat you, the prize will be to hold a parking spot in the front lot every morning for 2 weekends until 7:45am for me otherwise - no race - if you win, I will concede that I am lazy and you are not and that you are entitled to park up front with out hassle from me.
  24. I guess since I told him that I thought employees should park in lots farthest away since he is an employee of CB and he said something like "no, We don't get paid enough to park in the back" - I then said something like "you are lazy and customer unfriendly" he now thinks that he should race me to see who is the laziest.. Ski999 is having fun with it. Funny now that I think about it. I get far more aerobic activity and winded from walking up those parking lots than I do skiing around some gates. As the season progresses. Why not use Nastars' system? I know that there are suspect handicap days, but every one gets more of a chance to get one of those days the more you race..
  25. CB has a strong adaptive center and quite a few handicap spots on the same level as the welcome center. The handicap parking spots I am referring to were the ones that were in the first lot against the rocks. You see, the ramps don't meet the requirements for the 12:1 ramp slope required to make them accessible. Nor were they maintained in a safe condition. It was an easy thing to point out The signs were removed.
