I think that Park Passes will also help some with feature deteriation, in that less people riding over lips, etc etc

I went on what he told me, my bad, I should have checked the results first. Time to get longer skis, he said everyone is on longer skis than he is and he is as big or taller than the others.

There was a Justin Bear Creek that was in the !/2 pipe comp at C/B who is from Bear Creek. Must be a different one?
-
I think I met his mom tonight.. Justin, did you compete in the USASA 1/2 pipe today?
-
I am relaying info from Ridge " there were gates that were set up that he had never seen, they confused me" I asked him about course inspection... He said yes, but they still confused me.
-
I still don't get it.. What is the big deal?
-
If, you don't know, take them to a shop that does!!

Hey, Thanks! I said I was going to start racing again at the end of the last season. We are planning to go to the Nationals in Steamboat. The Nastar crowd is a great group to hang around and chat with and have fun. Time to get a set of GS skis, my confidence is growing, and I am catching Ridge. My goal is to beat him just once this season.

What I think really stinks is that the press capitalizes on this type of sensationalism, for what purpose? What makes matters worse is that Sports Illustrated then feels it necessary to repeat it and spread it. All the bad news that is fit to print. It is sad, that human nature seems to pick up on this negativity and spread it.

Not sure, I think he edited his post as that was like One Strike maybe? Doug please explain, if it is a huge privacy issue, I understand on the other hand - we know just about everything about you, so really, why not help the team out? PA gets looked down upon. It would be nice to show that our "club" rates well comparitively amongst other racing clubs comparitively. Any points are good points. I think I can contribute 4 or 5. Hopefully I will find out today.

I will be wearing a white and Black Bonfire jacket that has been described as looking like road kill It stands out

Thanks again Sib, More good info! I plan on helping at the Races that I take Ridge to where ever needed in what ever capacity they will have me. I think I found some other races for him to go to outside of the Pocono region that are managable. How does it work if he is the only CAT team member in attendance at a race out at Seven Springs for example?
-
Yeah definitly one to remember. Ridge placed 5th out of a field of 60 as a first year J4 in his first race ever in the USSA program and Nipples is finally taking me somewhere nice instead of me always taking him somewhere.
-
Ridge and Nipples have PASR stickers on thier helmets, find them and I am usually lurking around on a set of Volkl Karma twins tips. I'll have a set of yellow atomics for Nastar
-
Ridge did respectfully well placing 5th - his second run was the second fastest run of the day. He said he didn't understand the gates on the first run, that they were confusing how they were set up and had to speed check after realized he was heading around the wrong side. He had never raced them like that before. I rest my case about no gate training however, he got some today at a race, rather than at training. Props to Sib who told me to tell Ridge to bring his USSA card for a bib. I would have not known that and it could have been a whole different experience. Also - No one ever told us that racers get discounted lift tickets. Ours were bought at full price. You would think that someone would have told us these basics.

Nipples is going to Killington!
-
We will be there, Nipples is running in the USASA 1/2 pipe and Ridge will be with the CAT team - we probably will run Nastar in the afternoon if they are running. I need to add some points to the team score.
-
I guess I don't understand, you say PASR is great but don't want to join a club racing team? I dunno, it just sounds really selfish to not contribute any points. Yeah - youre probably right, he probably isn't a good enough racer to contribute any points anyhow

Since they haven't spoke for themselves. I will... Check out the website they have created from a home mountain perspective. I like how the feel and tone of the stuff they have on their site. Check em out! The link is on our links page.

I haven't heard anybody say anything good about that feature. It needs help. The park crew is trying, one of the guys even went so far as to say he rode with the groomer, "he didn't know why some of the flat landings turned out the way they did. Talk to them, they seem to listen and offer insight back. -
Sweet!! I'll make sure nipples knows. Think Cold weather!!!!

I know one thing that I see that is consistently missing from all parks and that is what I would call "tenders" with as much traffic as our parks are getting and with the size of the park crews. When I am in a park, I would expect to see some one with a rake or shovel in their hands at any given time and that is what I an not see consistently. To me it is not any different than when a gate goes down on a race course, it is put back up. If a feature is trashed to craters and rutted in runs, I think they should be fixed, right away. I don't think the park crue job is a glamor job, the majority of the work that needs to be done is maintenance and that is hard labor. Nobody in their right mind (unless they like shovels and rakes) should want that job. These are my observations, not intended to hate or say that someone is not doing their job, only to say that the parks as they become more popular, need subsequently more attention. The same complaints are consistent on this board and others.

Accept they dont make mounting kits for really large luggage bars.

Nipples and I (the taxi cab) are headed out in a few hours to his first NextSnow Qualifier at Whitetail. For those who are not in tune with this event. It is a freestyle event focusing on skills in all areas and personality. It requires winning locally and then being selected for the "team" at the National Finals in March at Killington. There is going to be a lead-in story at the start of the Olympics in Torino about this event. Saturday Feb 11th - NBC 2-3pm - it will include last years team and some additional kids from some special qualifiers. It is only open for 9-13 year olds.. I guess it is sort of like a miniture X games events.

Yeah.. The rail jam at Belleayre put him at 18" smaller than his competitors or I suspect they are home mountain favorites, since it is a judged event. He placed second Frday night 2 weeks ago at RT in his category. He is used to the dynamics of competing in judged events. We are going to Whitetail this weekend, if he wins he goes to Killington representing Whitetail as his home mountain. You can kind of read between the lines on that. I am betting on second again. It's all good though, he makes new friends at every mountain we go to as a result of those competitions and I think we both value that more than any trinket and swag.. OOPS - off topic, sorry..
